So Cal Girl, congratulations on being a proud auntie! Your niece looks beautiful - I can''t wait to see more pictures of her and your nephew both!

So Cal-You nearly gave me a heart attack girl! I had scrolled to the bottom and all I saw was a picture of a baby and your sn

Your niece is beautiful! Can''t wait to see your nephew and I''m glad they''re home!

Thanks ladies for the congrats! I know I am biased, but my niece really is beautiful. I think she looks a lot like my sister, and from the pcitures I have seen, my nephew looks like my BIL. I can''t wait to see him. But I wanted to give them all a couple of days to get settled at home before I barged over there started taking their babies from them

Haha, Fiery, sorry to freak you out. I am in no way ready for our baby to come out yet!

So Cal, congrats to you and your sister! How funny that they have different birthdays!

Natalina, I''m 23 weeks and I have ordered my crib and everything, but I''m a teacher so I was just holding off on thinking about all things baby until school got out. Then I became obsessed, like I must do everything right now and get it set up and then I can relax and enjoy my summer. Also, my shower will be around 32 weeks, but we were looking at weekends anywhere from 29 to 32 weeks and just picked the best one. I''d tell your friend she has license to plan away for your shower.

Speaking of my shower, I am really struggling with whether or not to inform/invite my MIL. My main reason to invite her is guilt and knowing that DH will be upset (but he''ll get over it, and my therapist said I shouldn''t invite her) if I don''t. Other than that, I have very good reasons for not inviting her -- she has emotional problems (I believe it''s borderline personalitly disorder), and the last time we hosted a family gathering, she waited for DH to get something from the car and then directed a tantrum at me. She has also married a dangerous criminal (while he was in prison, but he''s out now) and then makes up all these stories about how we are to blame for not trusting this person, conveniently overlooking his past and the scary communications we''ve received from him. Also, the all female shower will be at my FIL''s house, so it would put FIL''s wife, as the hostess, in an awkward position, and I''m not sure they''d want MIL to see their nice house when she is on the verge of bankruptcy. She often says things like how she wishes she hadn''t divorced FIL (when she was the one who initiated it in order to marry this criminal), which would obviously cross her mind when she saw how they are living. I would spend the whole shower on edge worrying about what she''d do. Best case scenario she''d act like we see her more than twice a year (we live in the same town) and like she''ll be the most involved grandma in the world and say things about "her baby," which will annoy me. Worst case scenario she''ll be unable to deal with feeling estranged from me and seeing FIL''s house and will pout, leave early, and/or make a scene.

Advice?

SoCal- what a sweetie! Can''t wait to see pics of your nephew too!

Pheonix- thx for the input on shower dates! Eeesh...that situation with your MIL sounds sticky! At first I was thinking you should invite her, but once you said the shower is at/being hosted by your FIL''s wife, I changed my mind. I definitely think it will be too much for your MIL to handle if she is that unstable. The possible scene and uncomfortable situation would be enough for me to not have her there. Especially since it will make everyone uncomfortable, not just you. Maybe you and your DH could take her to a ''shower lunch'' instead, just you 3?

Phoenix, I wouldn''t invite her. Not what you need to deal with, especially on a day that is supposed to be fun for you!

Sunkist, congrats on being an aunt! Sooooo cute! What a great twin story!

Fiery, sorry to hear you are loosing steam at the end here, but you are soooo close! I''m so excited for you!

Natalina, I say get anything you are sure you won''t be getting as gifts! I just ordered the rest of our furniture this week, and I''m going crazy waiting for it to come in. I want to unpack all his clothes and diapers into the dresser, but we don''t have it yet!

Mandarine, the crib looks great! I like the wall color! The name situation is hard...do any of the other names have a special family meaning so ds 2 won''t feel jipped in the name department?

Vizsla, my boobs have been uncomfortable for forever, and all bras, even loose sports bras, eventually hurt. I think it''s because I''m carrying so high that anything that goes around my ribcage also cuts into the top of my bump. Funny about the pushups. I was doing them early on, but quickly had to stop as my bump was hitting before anything else!

As for me, I guess it''s good that I''m testing as I ate a pretty standard dinner for me tonight (not worrying about the gd diet too much) and my levels were definitely high. They told me since I''m borderline I could try to eat like normal just to see what my numbers are for a day or two, but I have a feeling that will quickly be coming to an end.

I forget who asked, but the gd diet really isn''t too bad. It''s low carb and carbs need to be paired with protein, but the really hard part for me is no sweets. I think it was the chocolate chocolate cookie I had with dinner that really pushed my numbers up...

Hey guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just found out that we''re having. . . TWO BOYS!!!!!

They both look healthy, right amount of amniotic fluid, and cervix is closed and long. I''m very, very happy!! I don''t think that I finished compiling them, but were only Mandarine and maybe Fisher leaning toward boy?

Sunkist, yay for your little boy too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ebree, Henry is adorable! Can''t wait to hear more about how things are going when you have a chance.

Two boys!!! Wow!!! Is there any chance they''re identical or are they definitely fraternal? You probably said based on your earlier ultrasound that they were fraternal, but I was just wondering. Congratulations!!!

I've been wondering what types of exercises my trainer is going to be having me do towards the end of pregnancy. It sounds like pushups may be out pretty soon

Robbie, thinking of you, hang in there! I hope the end comes soon for you, girly!

Mandy, ya I'd see if you can find another family name that you could give to the other boy. Cute nursery plans so far! I love your crib and wall color. You're looking beautiful too

I'm glad you had a good ultrasound and the boys are looking good. Congrats!

I had my doc appt this morning and we were discussing the flu shot I was getting today. But then the nurse never gave it to me before I left, and I realized once I got to work that I never got it! So now I have to go back into the office tomorrow morning to get the shot.

Holy cow!

Seems like most of the twin sets around here have been boys! And a lot of the recent singletons too...

Peony! More boys!! This is nutso! Congratulations.

And a belated congrats to Ebree, that little Henry is TDF!

Peony- Wow- 2 boys!!!! So many of us were wrong! Congratulations!

Speaking of identical/fraternal- are any of the twinners on PS identical?

Peony Congrats on the two boys! That''s awesome! Have your names picked out yet? hehe.

I go in for my u/s in 1 hour and 15minutes....wish me luck that everything is okay, the baby uncrosses those legs and that the entourage coming with us behaves.

We have My parents, my sister, His mom and his grandma all coming into the u/s room with us to find out the sex. How nuts is that!

Good luck Tao! We had an entourage too. It was supposed to be just my mom and FI but my MIL about had a heart attack when we told her that my mom was going so she insisted on going too
20.gif
. Then we had his dad and my brothers on the phone. It was a lot of fun when they said "it''s a girl!" and everyone screamed.

Congrats, Peony! I''m pretty sure I guessed 2 girls so I fail, lol.

Well, I''m not more dilated than I was last week (1cm), but I''m now 50% effaced instead of 30% and my cervix is moving forward. Yay! I totally forgot to ask about station, but my fundal height being the same as last week and the insane amount of times I now have to pee in a day make me think baby has moved down from -2.

Extra bonus: I didn''t have another 4lb gain! Woohoo!

I found out that the partner practice is on call 4th of July weekend as well as wed night/thurs morning of next week. So if I go in the next week, there''s a pretty good chance I''ll be delivered by a Dr. I''ve never met. I asked if she thought the doctors in that practice would have any issues with our birth plan and she said no. Honestly, I think I''d rather deliver with one of them than with the Dr. that made me cry a few appointments ago. If I go past my due date, I''ll definitely be delivered by one of my docs since the other practice only covers for them once a month.

I can''t believe my EDD is a week from tomorrow.

NYCSparkle, you still hanging in there or has your LO made an appearance?

Here''s my 38w6d belly pic. I paired it with my one from last week. I don''t see much of a difference.

Good luck, Tao!

Peony--YAY for two boys
36.gif
Boys are just so, so, SO wonderful!!!!

wow, lots of boy twins !!!

Are boy twins more common? What is the usual gestation for twins? A girl i teach with had a c-section with her twins at 39 weeks (and hadn''t gone into labor at that point either!) and her boys were each 7.5 lbs . I am guessing that is really rare for both size and being full term ?!

Socal--congrats auntie. So cool that they have different b-days and so great she got to deliver vaginally (don''t hear of that too often)

boys boys boys boys.. it *IS* raining men.. robbie is sure to have a girl now .. statistically she has to, right?
2.gif

congrats peony!

well, as i listen to MJ's greatest hits and sniffle into my coffee this morning.. this is me, and all of my growing mid-section glory, at 23 weeks. the little guy is trying to do the thriller dance in there

Robbie-You look wonderful
face23.gif
. Hopefully he/she makes an appearance soon. Do you have everything ready?

ETA VIZ-You look great! What an adorable belly!!

"Mommy" stuff: I can't tell if I'm losing pieces of my mucus plug or if I'm having bloody show. Either way, it's a game of hurry up and wait. I've also had some cramping on and off for the past two days. I've had loads of BH. My belly is pretty much hard for the majority of the day. I'm really curious what my appointment on Monday will reveal.

My feet are really, really swollen. I told FI with a sad face that I look like Fred Flinstone and he almost peed on himself and demanded that I say Yabba Dabba Doo so I threw the remote at him
17.gif

Baby stuff: This girl has so much clothes. I separated everything two days ago because I didn't know what we had. I was going to buy some sleepers and sleeping gowns but I didn't realize I already had 9 sleepers and 5 gowns. I also wanted to buy some hats and didn't realize I had about 8 of them. We won't need to purchase any clothing for a while.

Question: What are you ladies packing for the baby? I have these two really adorable sleepers with matching hats that I'm going to take as well as a couple of plain onesies and a take home outfit that FI bought. Aside from that, I'm taking a bunch of blankets and some diapers in case we don't get enough from the hospital. Anything else I'm missing?

Here's my 37w4d pic. P.S. You'll probably continue to see me in this black shirt every Friday because I refuse to buy more clothes lol

Robbie, you look great. A full-term preggo look to aspire to!

Peony, congrats on the team blue! Were you a little bit sad not to have a girl in there or just glad with any outcome or routing for boys? I''ve been trying to accustom myself to the idea of a boy (as that just seemed so foreign for some reason.) But I also wonder if I really do have a preference that will only reveal itself after there is a definite gender announced.

Tao, good luck with the ultrasound!

In not so happy news, I''m bleeding and cramping.
7.gif
And waiting until the dr''s office will answer their phone in a few minutes. Makes disguising drinks all week seem pretty unimportant, at the same time as it drives home *why* I wasn''t telling yet. Waiting...
