Anyone thinking or has already went to get a little enhancement for the holidays? The local news here in St. Louis has showed some new procedures lately, like Botox, which has been around for a while and laser procedures. Just wondering if anyone wants to share?

Best,

Lori/yellow

I always told myself that if I ever had my third child, I would get a tummy tuck.
That would be the only thing I would ever get if I ever got anything done. Oh, and maybe porcelain veneers for that perfect smile!!!!

Gotta have that!

Do you get a long scar with a tummy tuck or are they able to hide it somehow?

Well i haven''t had any work done yet (they haven''t come up with the complete head to toe over haul yet!!!

)

But three of my girlfriends had breast augmentation, along with that one had a tummy tuck, and one had a nose job.

The breast jobs look great, the tummy tuck had a very painful recovery and the nose job; I think she could have gone without.

I just think your nose adds to the character of your face- she had a hump in the bridge of her nose and to compensate for that they widened the nostrils.
I liked the "old" nose better.

Hi Kayla:

I just read and posted to your upsetting thread on your new ring....I pray it turns out right this time. Well, I have had Lasik for my eyes, I was tired of not being able to see past my hand! I was so chicken about doing it, and I finally called and went and I thought I was going to back out, because I was scared of going blind! It turned out to be the best decision, I can see now 20/15 in left eye and 20/10 in the right. About your teeth, have you thought of bleaching first? Sometimes they will be so much better you wont need veneers. My husband has 2 veneers since he chipped a tooth and the other I don''t remember why, but they were $$$ and his are just natural looking since he did not bleach his teeth prior to getting them. I think a tummy tuck would be good after your 3rd child as long as you don''t have any more children to undo the surgery. My friend had it done after her 2nd birth right after the C Section and it is so flat, im envious! It looks perfect and its hidden in the scar of the C Section!

Yes the scar is long. My friend''s goes from hip to hip; so to speak. She was never one to wear bikinis so she wasn''t worried about it. But it is some scar. It''s been a year since she had it done. I haven''t seen the scar lately- so I don''t know how it healed; if it vanished somewhat.

Sevens One! i would love the head to toe if I had the $$$$$$ for that! I watch extreme makeover and think this and that. It is painful.....I would like to laser off my hair!!! I must of got the hair syndrome from my DAD! I can wax my leg and it will be back soon!

Forte Kitty,
They hid the scar in my friends C-Section scar a tiny bikini line scar!

I think the breast lift would be nice too. Have any of you heard about the Laser Bra?

Sevens One,

If your friends scar is long, she had the "major" one and I think my friend had the "mini tuck". I think I would prefer as much as they could do!

Bikini line scar as in hidden in the pubes? or hidden-able by bikinis? I am so traumatized by my mom''s (3 kids) belly that I may never have kids unless I can have the flab removed.

Let me just add this about the Extreme Makeover show:

Why in the hell are they always wearing gray bras/panties in the "before" shot.
As if the before shot isn''t bad enough. Stick those girls in some Victoria''s Secrets!!!

That''s my baby! His name is Forte because he was REALLY loud as a kitten. (I''m a band geek, what can I say?)

I look at it as the "Red Badge of Courage!!"

Battle wounds whatever, FK- don''t let that stop you. Do you think the old ball and chain isn''t going to bald and have a gut at some point. It''s all about the LOVE. lol

Thanks Yellowfan, I am "traumatized" by that whole Ritani experience and I am hoping that they will do everything right the second time around.

As far as the tummy tuck, I have never actually met anyone who had it done, or admitted to it, so I am not sure what it looks like.

Alot of people don''t realize the changes that a woman''s body goes through when she has kids. I not only having a slight tummy, but I have stretch marks all over my tummy and hips, different ones from different pregnancies.

Your body just doesn''t revert to that youthful lithe tight body of the 18 y.o. you were once.

I have a pact with my friend from work. Regardless if we have anymore kids or not, at the age of 35, we are going to get tummy tucks, so Argentina, here we come!!!

All kidding aside, we will have the surgery done here in America.

About the veneers, my teeth are not that bad, I just have always liked the whole perfect symmetry and alignment look. It just looks so perfect!

Both my kids were born by c-section and the scar is very low, covered by the first you mentioned. Also, after two years since my second was born, the scar has faded. You cannot see the incision at all.

Regarding plastic surgery. I know a few women who've had breast augmentations and although the have more curvey figures, they're not any happier than before. It's nice to have a great figure, but personally, I think the BEST option for me would be a lobotomy! lol My kids are such a handful that I doubt any DD boobs I would install would help me with the laundry or cooking!
2.gif

Edited to add: one person I know has also had a tummy tuck and her scar has faded so it's a light white color that extends across her abdomen. One thing that's rather creepy is that during her tuck (after having twins) they removed her belly button! Isn't that gross?

Eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww. Narly

I always said I''d never have Botox, but -- given that I''m now 39-and-a-HALF!!! -- I went for it about a month ago and am so pleased that I did, and wish I had started earlier. My dermotologist did a great job and is very experienced at working with it.

That is creepy... why would they remove the belly buttom? This reminded me of that episode of The Simpsons, when Homer cloned a bunch of himselves? The only way Marge can tell which is the real one is by looking at the bellybutton... the clones don''t have any!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WILL SOMEONE SUCK MY THIGHS...LOL.... I REALLY REALLY want my upper inner thighs lipo''d. Has plagued me for years. One sweet day and it shall be done. I just need to get down to fighting weight first...if that ever happens!

No, I will age gracefully. I''ve never known anyone to have cosmetic surgury & not be able to tell.

Yeah Nan - I liked my friends old nose also. I can revisit it on her son. I like it on him as well.

Nothing wrong with taking care of yourself. If you do, any age can be great.

Yellowfan,

Well I had lasik on my eyes. It was the most wonderful thing I ever did. Painless and the results were much better then anticpated. I was blind as a bat with -7.5. I also bleached my teeth recently. That was not so good of an experience. My teeth hurt A LOT after each treatment! They just ached and ached. But everyone says my teeth are amazing now, so I guess it was worth it. I can''t say I''ve had anything else, since I am 24 years old, but I really don''t object to some work later on.

Okay, since we''re talking about teeth...
I had porcelain veneers done to my top teeth (you don''t see my bottom teeth when I talk or smile).
It is nice to have pretty teeth. My teeth were really little and had spaces yet didn''t "qualify" for orthodontia as a remedy, so this was a way I could improve my smile

If you have to take them off, will your teeth still look healthy? For some reason I keep thinking about acrylic nails when I hear veneers.

Several friends I know use Botox regularily and their faces look great. At (just) 44 I''m starting to notice those frown lines more, so maybe its time................

I hope yu guys are kidding, but if by any means not... just ask the doc. what happens if there needs to be a second operation to remove severe scarring.
At least in non-plastic surgery, it takes less than two years for post op scars to resorb (the younger, the faster). But not all do or not all of it, and the area of the body can remain painful for a very long time, well after the scar is gone. Do they even mention? If so, you are very brave ladies!

No, when you have veneers put on they grind away a good portion of your teeth until they''re little pointed things (think gollum from LOTRs)!

Well then possibly my husband will finally be convince after seeing me listless and drooling on the couch that we do need a maid. lol At any rate, I don''t really do much housework now. I hide in the bedroom while my kids tear the house apart and then when I''ve had it and can''t take anymore, I drag the kids to the mall and shop.
2.gif
lol - so I guess the lobotomy would be a good investment of sorts.

Gasp!! Doesn''t it HURT???? I accidently chipped a tiny piece of tooth off once when i fell face flat on concrete, and it hurt for months. I can''t imagine grinding so much away! I always thought they just paste it on like braces brackets, and you have to replace them once every few years!

haha... sorry about all these questions. And I live in L.A. too... you''d think I would know a lot more about cosmetic surgery!!
