Elle's Gemstone Adventures

This looks so bright and happy! Is that another spinel melee off to the lower right? Are you thinking of a flower design kind of halo, or multiple colorful halos? Ooohh or like a bombe ring (Stephanie gottlieb one below)

I Picked up these bright lemony yellow chrysoberyl from Yvonne’s current sale.

I‘m kinda feeling the way they pair with my Jeff White spinel. While this mahenge is bright, it’s not as intense as some of my other spinels so I wanted to pair it with a color that wouldn’t overtake it. I think these little chrysoberyls look perfect. What do you guys think?

I love it!! :kiss2:

Thank you. I’m not really sure how I want to set it yet (planning is half the fun, right?).

That is a little spinel melee on the bottom right. I just stuck it over there some time ago and forgot to put it away...oops. Still, I do have some small pink spinel melee that could be used with this project. I’ll have to put my thinking cap on.

I love it!! :kiss2:

Thank you!

I saw this rough in Jeff’s recent gem scoop and I just couldn’t resist getting one for myself.

Light to Medium tsavorite garnet.

This is my piece. It’s medium saturation and should cut somewhere between 1ct - 1.7ct.

I got one too, no pic of the rough yet though.

DK :))

Does chrysoberyl sparkle? Yours are a lovely shade of yellow and I wondered how their sparkle would hold up next to a zircon? (I'm thinking of a white gold band with coloured melee to pair with my yellow gold band/blue zircon).

How exciting! Did you decide on a shape or are you leaving it up to Jeff?

It definitely sparkles. The ones I have are bright and sparkly. A pure lemon yellow (more cool toned than warm).

I love the idea of yellow chrysoberyl and blue zircon together. :kiss2:

I get the same melees and planned to use them for a halo with light blue sapphire. They pop out the spinel very well!

I bet that’s going to look great! Do you have a pic of them together?

None of them are with me yet, I will share later!! Looking forward to play with them

I forgot to come back and update with my tsavorite from Jeff White. As always, he did an awesome job with it. I love the color! It’s such a rich and vibrant green. I’m not sure how I’ll set it yet but I’m definitely going to want a halo to help bump up the finger presence...besides, self proclaimed halo hoe remember?

Details:
1.46ct
5.83mm
*some small feathers (according to Jeff) but I can’t see them.

My pictures do not do this baby justice. It’s just gorgeous in person.

This baby is perfect!

I love it! So fresh and crisp. It is really cool to see what rough to faceted translates too.

Beautiful! The shape and color are very nice.

Thanks for the update Elle! Your new tsav is gorgeous! Every now and then I wonder how your gemstone adventures are going!

Gorgeous stone!! Wow

Huge tsav fan myself . That baby is awesome! Great color and cut- just yummmmy :)

Thank you! I love the depth of color on this one and Jeff’s cutting is always perfection.

Right?! I often find rough underwhelming and then I see the finished gem and I’m always happily surprised. Of course, I only commission rough from vendors whose opinion I trust and who understand my tastes. Too scary otherwise. Lol. :D

Beautiful! The shape and color are very nice.
Thank you! I can’t wait to bring it to life in a setting.

Thank you! :kiss2: I‘ll admit that, sometimes, I’m sometimes a lazy poster. It‘s so easy to share on Instagram that I occasionally forget I haven’t shared it here as well.

I‘m working on the setting for my concave cut tanzanite from Precision Gem. I’ll probably be starting a thread on that because I could use the help. I’m excited to have a new ring in the works!

Thank you so much!

Thank you! Isn’t the color on a tsavorite devine? :kiss2: I love those bright green beauties! Pinks and greens…I just can’t stop buying pinks and greens.

I‘ve been called out by @Rfisher on more than one occasion for not updating this thread. So, here I am…trying to update it…for as long as my short attention span allows.

I picked up this light yellow diamond from parksfinegroup.
1.51ct
fancy light yellow
vs2
Dimensions: 7.52x5.70x3.97

I’m not sure how I’m setting it yet but I tried it out next to a pair of pink spinels and diamond caddies (which have since been used in my tanzanite ring).

Then I picked up this purplish pink sapphire with a lot of help from @Rfisher. A lot of you may remember me detailing the whole process, from having it polished to sending it sent to AGL for a new report.
I’ll link that here: link

Details on the sapphire:
4.70ct
pink (low heat)
Dimensions: 11.22 x 8.40 x 5.78

Here are a couple pics of when I got her. I’ve decided to give her a new dress (aka setting). She’s actually with David Klass now so not too much longer…

My tanzanite ring from David Klass.

I snagged the tanzanite from @PrecisionGem and it made me fall head over heels for concave cuts. They‘re just so cool!

Details:
Weight: 2.495ct
Dimmensions: 8.259x6.907
Rectangular cushion with concave facets

I love this - some day, I'd love a similar ring for my Gene concave merelani mint that is similar in size to yours. :kiss2:

This is so beautiful, it's like a perfect marriage of classic and whoa-whoa-modern. I love the cut of the tanzanite, I bet it is mesmerizing in action!

That would look amazing! I’d love to see your mint garnet, if you want to share.

I miss having my (lab) emerald from Gene but I’m not having any luck finding my dream cushion cut emerald yet either (and, unfortunately, I don’t have limitless bling funds). So when I saw desertrose post a bunch of emeralds from her Tucson trip, I was all over it.

Muzo emerald:
1ct
6mm x 5.8mm

Of course, I would be crazy not to have picked up some pinks (or am I crazy for adding even more pinks to my collection?).

The oval pair:
Burmese spinel
1.31tcw
~5.7mm x 4.3mm

The single round:
Mahenge spinel
.51ct
4.9mm

I also picked up this beautiful oval paraiba from desertrose.
.86ct
6.5mm x 5.3mm
