Me too! I have no idea how I'm going to set that emerald, since I've never had that shape. I lean towards ovals & cushion shapes. Sometimes I think I'll bezel it. Then I think halo. Maybe it should be both...

I miss having my (lab) emerald from Gene but I’m not having any luck finding my dream cushion cut emerald yet either (and, unfortunately, I don’t have limitless bling funds). So when I saw desertrose post a bunch of emeralds from her Tucson trip, I was all over it.

Muzo emerald:

6mm x 5.8mm

Of course, I would be crazy not to have picked up some pinks (or am I crazy for adding even more pinks to my collection? ).

I just finished two projects with Daniel M. The first was for this paraiba yag I picked up from Precision Gem a while back. I am obsessed with the color (though that’s not a surprise to anyone who already knows about my paraiba obsession). It’s freaking bright in person. I’ve had the worst time trying to catch it on my phone...it always looks more muted. Anyways, I had it set in a sweet & feminine halo setting. It has soft little hearts in the gallery but, apparently, I haven’t taken pics of it yet so I’ll have to add those later.

Details:
Paraiba yag
14k white gold
8mm or 8.5mm (I can’t remember).
Diamond halo (.45tcw)

I also worked with Daniel M on a floral ring for my Jeff White blue zircon. I’ve had this zircon for years and I’m so glad I finally got around to setting it. I have the worst habit of spending all my money on new gems instead of on setting the ones I already have. Something tells me I’m not the only one with this problem…
I’m very happy with how this one turned out.

Blue zircon (~7.8mm)
Pink sapphire melee (2mm)
Diamonds in shoulders (2mm)
14k white gold

My pink sapphire ring (aka: Sweet Pea) is done! David Klass and team did an amazing job as always. She’s perfectly blingy and perfectly me. I’m absolutely enamored with her new dress.

Another pink ring joining the collection.

I saw this gorgeous setting for sale on IG and I couldn’t resist. I mean, it’s rose gold, has a sparkly halo, and diamonds all up in the profile. Who could be expected to resist that? Not me, that’s for sure!
And bonus…it ended up fitting my Jeff White mahenge spinel perfectly! I shipped it to DK for setting and changed the standard prongs to claw prongs. She’s back and she’s beautiful.

- Rose gold setting from Fana jewelry (purchased new through zacharysjewelry on IG…for a great price I might add).

Now, if only I could be so lucky all the time, I wouldn't have 3 empty settings sitting in my jewelry box.

I determined to set more of the nicer stones that I have this year, after not being able to set the ones I had planned due to the package being stuck in the post for months.

However, luck is not on my side, as the package I sent to the bench I use in China in April 2022, containing some of the stones I wanted to set last year, is stuck in the post somewhere for nearly 2 months, again!

I just picked up this beauty from Ella’s Vintage Gems on Instagram.
It’s an antique ring from the Victorian period. A red garnet surrounded by the prettiest halo of old mine cut diamonds.

Specs:
- Approx 1ctw VS, G-H old mine cut diamonds
- Garnet has wear associated with age
- Ring dimensions 15x20mm (5.6mm height)
- 14k yellow gold
- Size 6.75 (for now)

I always get excited when I see an update in this thread... that halo is just crazy gorgeous! The sparkle must be visible from space. Loving the rich berry red tone of the garnet as well. Will you wear this for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?
