I got my e-ring and wedding ring back from WF yesterday! I had the e-ring re-sized so I can wear it on either hand and they were both rhodium plated and cleaned. WOW-they look amazing! I think I should probably get them professionally cleaned more than once every two years. I use my ultrasonic but it is clearly not the same as a professional cleaning!

Weirdest thing...I can not do anything today. I had plans, got up, drank coffee, slept, checked emails and Ps, slept, read Fast Facts About italy, slept from 4 till 7. Can not understand what is going on. My husband thinks these were two tequilla drinks I had yesterday evening -we were watching a Boggie movie. I do not know how much I drank...100ml.? Usually I do not drink, even wine, and tequilla is the only thing that does not make me sleepy. But like many people who do not drink, I do not know what is much and what is not. Tequilla did not make me drunk...I just felt strange and tired today. I guess tequilla can not be taken in large doses... now I am awake and ready to roll...and tomorrow is Monday! I guess even tequilla is off my drinking list... my husband is glad... I am still everyone's designated driver at parties! Unfair. Good that at least one side of my kids' family has non-drinking genes...

I haven't posted in this thread in forever...but feel compelled to share with the world that I wore an old pre-preggo bra today that began feeling like a vice that was crushing my ribs by lunch.
So I took it off an spent the rest of the afternoon freeing the tatas. I had on a shelf-bra tank at least, and it was under another shirt. It was pretty much a great afternoon at work following that.

Freedom...aint it great! For some reason when I had kids my bra size changed from 36C to 38B. Its like my rib cage grew.
I knew the boobs would go south after having kids but nobody told me that my rib cage would expand.

Now the shoulder straps are too long for me on a 38B...I hate bra shopping .

Miffed that Sirius/XM has cut BBC Radio 1 in favor of a disco music station. Their list of recommended stations playing similar music is just a joke. The music isn't comparable, plus there's no fun DJ's! I don't know of another station with the farmer vs. pirate game. Sigh.

On a happier note, I am loving the new MacBook Air. It has solved all of my computer related fights with DH, plus its cool looking! Woot woot!

Yeah, so no one is sure what it is. But from what doc's have said it's something I could get anywhere. I don't want to blame it SOLELY on Africa, but I did get it here.

I am sooo, sooo, SOOOOOO incredibly angry with DH right now and I can't even say anything because it is three days before our anniversary and I would be the biggest bitch...

I LOVE PHOTOS, ALL PHOTOS. I used to keep all my photos on my old MAC and backed up to a hard-drive. When he bought me a new MacBook, he wanted to sell my old Mac and I agreed as long as he transferred all my stuff to my new Mac. That was 4 months ago and he never got around to it.

Today, he got around to backing up our hard drives and he thought he had backed both mine and his and wiped them to upgrade the software. Well, he didn't back up mine before he wiped my drive. He only copied over one picture folder (the current one)...

So all of our wedding photos, engagement, honeymoon, not to mention travel, birthdays, kids...ALL OUR PHOTOS ARE GONE!!! And the hard drive has been reformatted!

I had to go away to the store to cry so that I can pretend nothing is wrong.....I am so incredibly upset. I know that we can get our wedding photographer to copy our wedding photos, but we had photos from all of our guests and all the photos from our camera! No one else has those! No one else has the honeymoon photos...or the pictures of our proposal or my surprise 30th birthday, or my sisters 15th...I even had my mom's photos backed up to my computer! I am so angry that he never did what he promised to do 4 months ago and now everything is gone.

Depending on how long ago he did it, what exactly he did, how much you've used that computer since - some of the files might be recoverable. When you delete a file it doesn't remove it, just marks that space as okay to overwrite with new data. So if you don't use that drive, you aren't adding any new data to overwrite the old stuff. If he re-installed the OS or something the odds aren't good, because that overwrites a lot of data, but...

1. Stop using that drive. Don't install stuff, don't delete stuff, don't add new files...
2. Take out the hard drive and connect it to another computer - you might have an adapter for this, or you can get one at best buy or something. Or if your PC has different partitions or another usable drive, that'll do in a pinch
3. You can try a data recovery programme (a coworker swears by Easus' Data Recovery Wizard - DH has it installed on his PC and it hasn't given him any trouble, we've never actually used it though) - *don't* install the data recovery software onto the drive you want to recover data from though! Save it to a different drive/partition. The Easus programme I believe will tell you what files it has found, if any, before you have to buy it, so you can see if it's worth shelling out for - it's pretty pricey (like $60, 70 I think). I hope you can get at least some back!

I work for a data recovery company. I don't think I'm allowed to tell you which one. If you do your research on the internet, there are basically three data recovery companies that have better success rates than any small, local company. Even if you don't end up using mine, contact a large data recovery lab that does *all* data recovery work *in house*. That should mean it's one of the big ones. If your husband did not re-write a large amount of data to the drive, IT IS VERY POSSIBLE that you can get your pictures back. But don't even turn the computer on, remove the hard drive immediately and send it directly to a reputable data recovery company. It is not cheap, but the better companies will not charge you if the data recovery attempt is not successful, so the only thing you have to lose if it doesn't work is possibly some shipping charges.

Please try it!!!! I promise I see stories like yours every day! (PLEASE do not use a data recovery program on your own. We see tons of people who destroyed their data trying this. Again, successful data recoveries can be expensive (although recoveries like yours are actually on the cheaper end) but it is so worth it to send it directly to a professional.)

So I ordered some microfilms for my genealogy research from my local Family History Center about a month ago. Since I hadn't heard anything I gave them a call last night to see what was up. Apparently they hadn't even ordered them yet. *headdesk* They did manage to cash my check though.

Thank you so much for your suggestions! I know he feels awful, but I am so upset.

I tried talking to him about sending it to a company I found online that does in-house hard drive data recovery and he said that they won't find anything because he's already tried to recover the files and that there is nothing we can do as the drive was reformatted again. It of course turned into a big fight about why can't we even try it and him responding that I don't trust him.

Of course, I don't trust him, HE DELETED ALL MY STUFF!!!!!!!!
