Justginger, it's not the Alps, it's the Canadian Rockies. Maligne Lake. It probably doesn't matter, but I thought you might like to know.

Hugs to Enerchi and Zoe.
High five to DeeJay.
Happy for cozystitches kids.

It's so beautiful! Much nicer with decent resolution and not plastered over a random hotel wall! Thank you for telling me, it definitely does matter. :))

Jane - that picture is STUNNING! Did you take that? It's like something out of a fairytale!

I was walking my dog and fell in the snow with a big WHOMP! My bum is not at all hurty. Must be all the padding. Doggy immediately gave a big play bow while I was on my a$$ and she was like Wheeeeeeeeeeee play with me play with me play with me and I was like You need to see some Lassie movies and learn to put a high-level rescue op in place when I fall, silly critter. :cheeky:

Dee Jay, you''ll be so happy to move back here. I've been in Chicago 12 years and every year I love it more.

I only meant to be at the computer long enough to find out where I need to go for my mammogram... of course my med. service's site is not that easy to navigate and I ended up having to call them and started surfing online while waiting for them to answer... and my cat hopped up on to my lap and she's so nice and warm and the house is still kind of chilly... and now I've been at my computer for over an hour! :errrr:

See y'all much later, I hope!

Yessssssssssss, Saturday night, cheat night. After one week of doing more than 2000 squats, shoulder presses, crunches & other sundry torturous movements demanded by my sadistic trainer, I get to enjoy cheat night. Slowly savoring a pint of Ben & Jerry's Everything but the Kitchen Sink creamy fat laden luscious orgasmic ice cream. Just me and the pint. The whole pint. Just me. No sharing. All mine. Yessssssssssssssss

Thanks Missy! I have my job until the end of June, so it could be worse. If I was in a different field, I might only have two weeks left or my job could end immediately, you know? I'm just really, really sad right now.

I sort of know how you feel Zoe as we went through something similar about 5 years ago. It was a scary time for sure and my heart goes out to you. At the time though I knew it would end up OK and I hope the same for you. Somehow, it always works out. But when it first happens (and for some time after) it is a loss, a mourning and not all of us embrace change as easily as others (me! for one lol) so it can be a scary thing the unknown, the uncertainty of it all. But I know it will be OK for you and I am keeping you in my thoughts and sending good vibes your way!!!

Btw, it usually works out for the better when you look back on it all so try not to feel too down and don't be hard on yourself. But ofc allow yourself to feel sad and to mourn but know something better is coming your way! Biggest hugs to you!!

Thanks so much, Missy! I've been miserable for a few days and I haven't spent any time on the computer, so I just saw your msg. I'm on vacation this week and I need to start putting together my resume packet. I'm not looking forward to this process but I hope something good comes out of it.

Thanks, Dee*Jay and Rubyshoes!

Zoe, I hope you can at least enjoy some of your vacation --- rest, relax, think of other things if at all possible... Hope it all ends up with you in a happier, more perfect job in the end!

Jennifer Lawrence is wearing a backlace at the oscars.

Poor girl took quite a digger, too. I love how shocked she was when she won. I think she's great!

I have uni orientation tomorrow. I'm really nervous. Classes begin next week and the entire process has been overwhelming so far. I'm not technologically challenged by any means, but the sheer amount of information and instruction hidden away in little online nooks and crannies for each class is outrageous. I feel about a million years old...and like I'm utterly stark raving mad for giving up my cushy paychecks for this ridiculousness! :nono:

But I am excited. Such a nerd, read through each syllabus like I was opening a present on Christmas morning.

I desperately want to be writing a post like this in September. Oh man, I want to go back to school.

JG -you'll do great. First day nerves are normal. What will you be studying anyway? Same as your work or diversifying?

Same as work, but more broad spectrum. I'm restricted to microbiology at work, most of my previous degree was genetics/molecular, but this semester I'm also doing histopathology and biochem (also not very new, minored in chem for my first degree). Next semester it's cytology, general pathology, immunology, and haematology. Looking forward to learning more about the other disciplines but intend to stay in micro/infectious diseases for the rest of my career. :))

My ring has been in the shop for 3 weeks, and I MISS it. Like a toddler whose binky has been confiscated, I am CRANKY.

3 weeks! Are you ok? How are the withdrawal symptoms? Eek! 3 weeks!

I'm looking for full time work again and am terrified. I applied for a job that fit me like a glove but got a call this morning that they actually wanted 100 years more experience. ;( ;( ;( ;( I'm so exhausted from applying, interviewing and getting rejected. I'm also back in school and I thought that would help, but it doesn't seem to be.

Conversated, (dis)orientated, and other such words instead of conversed and (dis)oriented drive me batty, batty, batty, batty!!!!

My car behaved very badly today. Kept completely shutting the electrical system off and on at random. It even changed the radio station, then changed the band from FM to AM. Too much alternator ripple, again. (sigh) Drunkard alternator must go. LOL

A flight from Chicago to Kansas City is $161, a flight on the same dates around the same times on the same airline from Kansas City to Chicago is $464. WTF.
