Jewelry Store Engagement Diamond

Based upon feedback, basic research and what I am comfortable with, I will be looking to place the following diamond into a rose gold setting.

As for the ring, my GF did not give me a lot of details to work with other than a few photos of things she liked, and that she wanted rose gold. She does not wear a lot of flashy jewelry in general and didn't want anything too flashy. Her hand size is a 4 and she is 5' 1" to put size into perspective. With that being said, based upon the pictures she provided me I've narrowed it down to a few different rings.

I'd like to know based upon the photos she provided me, are the following rings in line with the photos she provided me? If so, I'd like to know your thoughts as to which ring may match her style (based upon photos).

***rings are in no specific order***

The first ring is a Halo ring with a twisting band. WF has a very similar band to the one pictured. I've attached the link to the similar ring on WF below. https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...tani-1rz1318-diamond-engagement-ring-5221.htmRing.PNG

The second ring, I found on WF. It is a simple 3 stone ring.

Finally, the following ring was found from the local jewelers website. I thought it was an interesting combination and it caught my eye. I have not seen this in person and would have to custom order it from WF which means I would not be able to return it. Ring 2.PNG

The below photo is a collage of some of the ideas she provided me. Ideas.jpg

Love your thoughtfulness, and can see the connection between your choices and her inspo pics. However…I’m not sure the infinity pave settings you are considering match the ~vibe~ of her inspiration album. Seems her photos have more of a Catbird-ish vibe. The ones she shared veer towards woodland nymph of the 21st century, whereas the options you are considering feel borderline dated (to me) and less…youthful.

These are all great points, but it is very difficult to find her style in any jewelry store or major online retailer…… I think this is why I’m struggling to make a decision

I would say the 3 rings you chose are not in line with her aesthetic. Her inspiration rings are detail rich yet still very delicate. The pave twisted bands don’t match imho. Also, I would avoid an air gap between the stone and the halo if you go that route. All of the halos in her photos are closely set.

Hold tight, we’ll be scouring the internet for you, lol.

I agree with above posters. Here are some options from WF that I think are more in line with her inspiration rings.

These fit her vibe and could be an inspiration for a custom ring. I think these could be made within ~$2k budget.

Have a look at Maevona. Her Instagram photos show her designs better, than her website. Her rings look a bit chunky in redering, but they are really delicate. I think she has several settings that would really match the vibe and be something not everyone has. All her designs can be made in rose gold. Just a few to get your started.

OP, If this was already discussed, and I missed it, you can ignore me, but you need to be mindful about what kind of wedding band she will want to wear with the ring (assuming she will) and how it will fit with the engagement ring. Many of these styles will cause a gap between the two rings. Some people like a gap, others do not. I'd find out that answer because once you know that you may want to eliminate some settings for the ER that can't accomplish how she wants the two rings to fit with each other.

There's also always the option of getting the whiteflash stone in a simple solitaire, and then letting her pick out or design the perfect setting herself after she's had time to think about it and wear the solitaire on a daily basis. Halos are gorgeous but don't always work well with a band or may not be practical if you're a "wear your diamond for everything" kind of person.

I think some of the sample photos she provided me are from this designer. I spoke with them on the phone and they will send sample rings prior to the creation of the ring for $50 which is fully refundable once the ring is returned. @Lookinagain brings up a great point which I will find out. The website appears to have both styles so depending on her response, I can request samples accordingly.

I will post a few sample ideas I plan to order in a bit to ensure the rings I request match my GFs style.

I'd like to hear your thoughts. This community has provided me more traction and direction than the 5 jewelers I went to over the last month.

She is indifferent to the wedding band being flush against the ring. Much of her jewelry in general is not flashy / bulky.

I found the below rings off the website which was recommended. I'd like to know your thoughts as to which one is your favorite. Feel free to provide other suggestions from the website or other sources.

Additional info so you don't have to read through the posts.
Ring Finger: size 4
Ring Color: Rose Gold
Diamond Shape: Round (ideal size for price range is 1.2-1.3)

I like the Astor Round and the Dairy Diamond Halo! They seem to reflect some of the details she likes. Can they make the dairy diamond halo for a round?

I'm not a fan of all the metal "prongs" in the first one and the last one feels more architectural than what she has shared with you. My 2 cents.

Svman989, you must be as dazed as I would be if I were buying car parts. But hang in there, you're getting great advice.
Maybe poke around on PointNoPoint, Vrai, Stagshead or even etsy. There is so much original design out there.

Put that beautiful diamond on hold asap so it doesn't get snatched out from under you.

I like the Maevona Meadowsweet and the last oval by Charles and Colvard. But, when I look back at the collage you posted I see a floral Halo with a unique element. I don't think Meadowsweet would fit. I have a setting in mind. Hang tight.

I requested a few of the rings from Maevona be sent to me. They will send you a mold of the ring in some type of metal so you can see what it would look like prior to purchasing.

Also, I have reviewed all recommendations and since I’m not pressed for time have not made a decision.

Finally, I am very interested in your thoughts on this ring. I think this may be my favorite so far. It’s simple, has an interesting touch and I think may be the one.

there’s a great video attached so you can see what it looks like.

Wow. I think that is absolutely beautiful. It’s delicate like her inspiration pictures but suitable for daily wear and won’t date. Really lovely.

To me, it is not in line with her floral and vintage inspiration. This is a simple Halo I think suits.

But the floral part could be easily added with the wedding band. And I think in the long run people’s tastes develop and this classic setting with that level of prettiness and delicacy she seems to go for will really stand the test of time.

Just revisited the inspo pics and I do think the setting you like is in line with them

I actually totally agree that classic will last. I think we all struggle with "ohh shiny" and "what will I actually wear every day".

I found this version with leaves on the shank that bring a bit of floral feeling.

I don't think this designer will set outside stone, at least the didn't a few years back. But, DK could make a nice inspiration of it. I also think DK milgrain is finer and more delicate.

{EDITED They now do set outside stone, but I still find their milgrain a bit less refined. https://shop.kenanddanadesign.com/pages/faq}

I'm not against ordering online but individuals I've spoken to have recommended going in person as you can see the diamond and confirm potential inclusions, color, etc. I've also been told due to the markup on diamonds, the B&M can work with you to reduce the price.

I'm currently located in the Lansing, MI area.

I'd like to spend no more than $11,000 on a diamond, for a rose gold halo setting. I'd like to stay around the 1.20 - 1.3 carat range as the soon to be fiancé has small hands and a ring finger of a 4 so I want to make sure it looks great and doesn't look too substantial on her hand. If the right diamond was found online, I would be open to purchasing it.

Let me introduce you to DSS my friend

I like that a lot. Plus, the name they gave it: since you're putting a sizable diamond in it, you get to call it The Big Lebow-ski. That right there may be worth it, alone.

I think it's great, and it's even better that you found it for her.

Hey everyone,

I've decided on the following ring.

As for the diamond, I am undecided between the two. The first diamond being a 1.34 H and the second being 1.45 I. Again, the ring will be rose gold. Looking for recommendations/opinions. I've heard about DSS so I am assuming I shouldn't worry about the 1.45 making the ring look too big on her?
