flopkins - I''m not sure of who the member is, but I''ve attached the photo of the dress I was talking about.
Doesn''t Davids have a dress almost exactly like that? I am sure it is not Davids... but it looks like it may be a more ''upscale'' version of it.

Hi, MINE!! - I went to David''s Bridal, but didn''t see it, but I''ve heard some horror stories on their alterations... Does anyone know if there''s some truth to that?

purple passion- that dress is a Mori Lee - from the destinations line.

edit - I think it may be discontinued. Its not on the website anymore. It was very inexpensive though.

Thanks, MelissaSue. I appreciate it.

I can finally add a picture of mine, I just got married a couple of weeks ago. It''s not very good but you can see the dress. It''s custom-made by Romona Keveza.

Here''s the back of the dress. These are obviously not professional pictures.

elepri, you look beautiful and glowing! Your dress is perfect for you! What a beautiful day it must have been, big fluffy clouds in the sky!

You ladies are awesome. I am new to this and have been reading all the threads you post from rings to now bridal dresses. I think Reena is going to have a hard time picking a dress since you have posted some wonderful pictures. I just wanted to say JCJD, this dress is awesome. I am still waiting for my e-ring, but I have ideas in my head of dresses I would like to try on one day. I think you found it for me. This is absolutely fabulous. Not only have I learned a lot from reading everyones notes, but now I don''t have to look for dresses. hee hee. Man y''all make life easier. Thanks to whoever started this thread. Sounds like a lot of you are a close knit group. Hope you don''t mind if I reply from time to time.

gatorgirl - Welcome! A lot of us have been here since before we got our e-rings too!! Have you joined the Ladies-in-waiting list? I''m not over there much anymore.. but they are SUCH an awesome group of girls. It will keep you sane until you get your ring and everyone here is SOOOOO helpful!

I just went to try on my dress agai today and took a ton of pictures... As soon as I get them developed I will add them.. but the dress its in the process of alterations... so it is a bit pinned up.

Purple: Hey! I have heard the same thing about David''s. The Davids here is very new.. so I think they are still in the process of trying to impress people...

Just asked to be "initiated into the LIW" - filled out the info also. I was up late since I could not sleep and was addicted to this thing. I am not sure if these threads are keeping sane or making me more INsane. :)

Hey purple... I had a good friend who went looking and then went to David''s bridal. She said that once you try on "high end" dresses and you go to David''s you see the difference in quality. If you go to David''s and try on nothing else, you won''t notice. She spoke with an associate and said that while she was there - she saw a bride who was having problems with her dress and she was getting married in 1 week and the alterations still were not done, but the hem on the dress was uneven. The front was higher on one end than the other. How do you fix that? Make it shorter? Good luck with your search. I don''t have 1 friend who has gotten married that has purchased from David''s. These are all locations in the state of FL, so maybe different somewhere else.

Thanks ladies for confirming David''s Bridal.

True.

My fiancee has this one friend who was helping her out with the wedding cuz she loves that stuff. Unfortunately, she's super wealthy. Convinced my fiancee to try on the designer stuff, "Just for fun." Diff btw the "high end" stuff and David's Bridal was just too much for my girl. Had her heart set on a $6000 Vera Wang dress. I only just managed to get her to settle on a cheaper Vera Wang (which still cost a crapload of money... most expensive thing purchased other than the reception itself!

) More than the photog, flowers, etc.

$10K?!?! OMG!
23.gif
I want to see a pic!!!

I think the most expensive dress i tried on was $4k maybe? It came down to a $1200 Maggie or the dress i got for $600. Sure, the Maggie fit REALLY well, but didnt look like the money... IMHO, the $600 looks like it should have cost $1200! (you can search back to page 15 i think to the pics).

I found my dress! I found my dress!!! I already ordered it because I was so excited - do you think I should have waited? (Wedding is May 6, 2006).

Dodger Gurl! We''re date twins!!!! I wanna see pics of your dress!!!! Like NOW!!!!!

DogerGurl - this is a perfect time to order your dress! You have plenty of time in case there are delays, but I dont think its too early. I''m May 27th and my dress was ordered on April 5th. Today was actually the delivery date they gave me.. but apparently its not in yet, since they didn''t call. but hopefully soon! When do we get to see pics?

Thanks gals! I know y'all are going to kill me, but I'm trying to keep the dress under wraps until the big day. Hehehe.

However, I will give you guys some clues:
- It's a Maggie
- It's not poofy
- I am having difficulty choosing a veil to go with it

P.S. Melissa, I'm so happy for you! Soon you will have your dress in your possession! Your preciousssssss!!!!

MelissaSue,

I''m behind on my Pricescoping (I love that that''s a verb.)
What dress did you pick? Is it on this thread?

Tybee

Dodger Gurl!
I agree with MS-
Pictures...we need pictures.

Tybee- My pics of my dress are on page 11 of this thread! It should be coming in soon!

bump...after seeing all ur gorgeous dresses, i thought id add some of mine...(even though im married already, but stil!! i hope u dont mind)..I didn''t have a traditional ''wedding'' and didn''t wear the white dress, i opted for something different completely. I had four parties in total. Three were when i got engaged and one that was held a year and a half later when we got married (the day before traveling on our honeymoon.)..For two of my dresses i opted for an ''Indian themed'' dress, one i opted for a old Victorian (i think) style dress and the fourth was just a design i came up with when i saw the material...i''ll post them in order of the events they were worn in! i apologize for the multiple posts in advance!

Dress #1: The official dress i wore when i got engaged (we had a small gathering at my family''s house where the ''sheikh'' (or known to all of u as priest) made us take our vows)

milcha.jpg

Dress #2: This was indian saree material and i decided to have most of the detailing done in the back (i hope it comes out clear!)

mowled.jpg

Dress #3: I fell in love with this dress the moment i saw it. I don''t have a better picture to show u all the detailing in it or the back (where it flows out and all) but this is the best i could do!

golfclub.jpg

and last dress #4: this is the dress i got married in. i bought this outfit when i went to india on vacation...something different, but yet the detailing was just gorgeous!!

Sorry all if i bored u with all the pics! (and the bad quality, i didn''t have digital snap shots of them and had to take a pic of a hard copy pic i had! ha ha)
