msb - I love all of your dresses. They are beautiful and unique. I especially like the first two.

Tybee - thank you so much!! I can''t wait to wear it!

Dodgergurl - keeping your dress a secret? even from us PSers? !!!cruel!!! No.. I understand.. I am way too excited too keep mine a secret. Even FI knows what it looks like (he just can''t see the pic of me in the dress.. but Its nice to keep it a suprise!! I have a former co worker who is doing the same thing (Except I totally know what dress she is wearing because she described it to me and it came from the same bridal shop as I got my dress from, and she and I were looking at sort of similar styles of dresses.. so it was one that they gave me to try on!). I''m just not good a secrets/suprises!

MSB700- that last one wow, I love the red detail on the bottom. Is there are reason you choose the Indian theme?

Thanks MelissaSue & Matatora for your kind comments :)

Matatora: To be honest I wasn''t planning on going with an indian theme, but i was in india on vacation, walked into this store, saw the dress, fell in love with it,,and voila! a theme was born

msb700, all of your dresses are lovely. How cool that you mixed it up a little. Just gorgeous.

Oh and Dodger Gurl, SERIOUSLY CRUEL to not share with us.

PLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEE tell us!! I too was a Maggie "not such a poofy dress" bride and I just love all the Maggie dresses. Will you at least tell us if it is a corset back? I think this is the very first year that they offer some of their dresses without corsets.

hey, i''m new to this forum, but i wanted to tell everyone that i just bought the Melissa Sweet Hallie dress. Its beautiful. I saw that you guys talked about it late last year... I saw it in a magazine and fell in love with it. I just got it for less than half the price.

onethingidesire7 --

Thats fantastic!! It was my "dream" dress.. but I could never have afforded it! How did you get it half price???!! And was that a picture you tried to attach? It didn''t work! Tell us more!

Wow, msb700! You look great! I love Sari material, it is to die for! All the rich colors they have, and the long flowy fabric - just beautiful!!! And how fun it must have been to have so many different celebrations!

MelissaSue, RMS and Tybee: I am normally a bargain shopper, so to spend this much on one dress makes me think "Gosh! Well, it better make a heck of an impression!". So, I''m keeping the dress a secret from everyone except my mom. Plus, I have to confess that it is kind of fun to torture all those people who kept torturing me while I was a LIW.

Hehe. But no worries my daaahhhlings, when I go to my final fitting I will take pictures and give you gals a sneak preview.

You are wicked!
But I understand...no wait, I don''t! I can''t keep a secret from anyone! Good for you Dodger Gurl!

OK, just to tide you over here are pics of some dresses that looked good on me but ended up not making the FINAL cut.

Maggie Shayla: Awesome dress, but the sideswept thingymabob was just too trendy for me. Beautiful dress though - the saleslady pulled it for me to try on. I did not like it on the hanger but once on it was gorgeous!

Maggie Francis.

Also a beautiful dress. I fell in love with the train on this dress in the pictures. However, when I tried it on the train ended up being way too much for my little 5 foot frame. Plus, our wedding is at the park so the train was also a bit much for our location.

Ooops, let''s try that again. Front of Maggie Francis.

Back of dress.

Sorry I don't have pics of myself in the dresses, but the salons wouldn't let me take pictures. (Boo!)

Oh Beautiful!
I LOVE the Maggie Francis

Dodger Gurl- Those are such beautiful dresses, I have a feeling we (oh, and your husband to be

) will be blown away with the ACTUAL dress.

I love the Francis too.. that lace train is just TOO pretty!
And you know what is funny, I told you about my coworker who was also keeping her dress secret? Shayla is her secret dress! lol.. don''t tell anyone.

alright Dodger Gurl, we tried to coax you, but I guess not!! I will have to go back to the Maggie website and peruse
emotion-15.gif
all the not so poofy dresses and wait to see you post-surprise...both the dresses you posted are fabulous!! I wore Maggie Mariella and I some pics are on p10 or 11 of this thread.

This isn''t my dress, but one I''ve tried on.
I''m having such difficulty attaching...I''m just going
to see if I can make this work--
Friends and I went to David''s Bridal just to get our feet wet. Looking forward to continuing the search..

HOly Carp! It worked! I''m not the idiot I thought I was.
This one is a short little lace number. We''re planning on getting married on the beach--so I was looking at simple dresses..But after really looking at all the dresses on here, I think I might have to go a little fancier.

I''m just so happy I''ve figured out how to attach!
None of those David''s dresses looked super great on me,
and I''ve heard that I"m supposed to cry when I find THE dress...can you all confirm?
Should I hold out for tears? And are they tears of joy, or price tag tears...he he!

tybee - I LOVE the little lace dress. Its sooo cute. I kind of want it.. but I don''t know what I''d wear it for.. Rehearsal maybe? hehe.. But, you don''t seem to love any of them.. so keep looking!

I bought the dress on Ebay, for $980 and the lady bought it for $2300. It was worn once, and its beautiful... I won the bid by like a couple of seconds.. What dress did you end up getting?

MS,
I really like the little lace dress too...It''s the type of dress you could wear and wear again. I''ve considered just buying it, because it''s not that expensive. (David''s is having a super big sale now too.)
I think I want a longer dress for my wedding, though. It''s going to be casual and everything, but I think I want a dress that is longer.

Oooooh! Very nice, Tybee! You are going to have so much fun dress shopping. Even if you don't fine "THE ONE" right away, it is still fun to try on all those beautiful gowns!!!! So get out there and live it up!!! Wheeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!
37.gif

P.S. I didn't cry, but my mom got all teary-eyed and choked up. For me, it was more like *gasp* "Ooooohhhh, this is IT!!!"

And Melissa, LOL, too funny! The Shayla really is a gorgeous dress though. Your friend will look beautiful!

Thanks Rube! I hope FI likes my dress too!

Hi fellow PS''ers! All the dresses posted here are absolutely to die for! I shouldn''t look yet since I haven''t "officially" received a proposal to yet, but I can''t stop my eyes from wandering or my mind from thinking...
31.gif
I can''t wait to get to "officially" go dress hunting.

The thrill of the dress hunt aside, I think this will be my dress. Jennifer Garner wore this Valentino dress to one of those award shows. Of course, I won''t be able to afford a Valentino dress in a million years, but I can dream.

I hope I can get something similar to this custom made...

I found this forum by searching for images of Maggie Sottero''s Mariella dress. My wedding is next July, and even though this dress has been around for a little while, I still ordered it two weeks ago. How did it fit for your wedding? Did the corset stay tight so the dress didn''t feel like it was falling down? This is my biggest concern. If you have any pics, can you post them or tell me where they''re posted? Thanks.

Hi aosyp613,
PM me with your e-mail address, and I can send you a bunch of pics. Some are already posted on page 10 or 11 of this thread, but I can send you others. I had absolutely no problems with the dress and the corset. It never loosened up at all, no worries about that.

This is one of the dresses that I am considering, Jessica McClintock #21133.

Here is another Jessica McClintock dress.
