Let's talk about CS projects in progress

Ah my ring is almost done :kiss2::kiss2::kiss2:

I am thrilled with how it looks. It still needs tweaking and polishing. There were supposed to be additional diamonds on the claws but they were concerned about damaging the aqua.

Just wanted to share. He is putting together some video footage for insta which I will share when I get it.

Thank you so much that is super kind. It is really the first hand made ring I have had and I was very nervous the jeweller is super lovely I am hoping to do more work with him.

I basically just said I want a big jaw breaking cocktail ring with as many accent diamonds as I can lol a modern twist on the audacious cocktail rings of years past

Here is another pic of it being created on his insta

Look what rolled into my mailbox today. Just can't capture these little guy's sparkle. I was holding them next to a few of my diamond bands and it is so unfair to the diamonds.

The ombre will be held for another golden state pendant and the others are destined for a necklace. Still debating adding other shaped stones for a cluster or doing some sort of scatter.

2.5mm and 1.75mm to the side

Necklace partners.

I'd love to get them out and play but I don't trust myself not to lose one or scratch it.

OOOH they are gorgeous @CSpan pardon my ignorance but are they spinel?

Ah gorgeous. Love them

Coming back to add some of my own pictures of my DK zircon ring. It's really captivating! The stone has a more gray-purple tone in some lighting, other times more of the champagne-pink, The bezel setting makes the stone so sparkly, and the whole ring just shimmers. I really love it! And I'm amazed at David's beautiful work, bringing my vision to life.

That is truly exquisite what a beautiful stone as well. One day I will have my own DK piece (if the aussie dollar ever rallies)

@Niffler75, thank you very much! The stone is 8.98 mm.

Lovely size! :kiss2:

@Ally66 I love that. The setting is a perfect profile and that stone!!!!

A tiny 0.56ct deep cut burmese sapphire will be ready next week. Had my jeweler make a handmade setting for it and will solder it onto a palladium band that I already had. He melted a blob of slightly rosy 18k yellow, he then cut out a rough shape and carved it down to this. It will be curved inwards as much as the fat bellied stone will allow. Will sit flush on the hand. This stone was actually bought in Myanmar a few years ago and while buying it I bumped into two PSers completely by chance. It was very fun! 20200604_144818.jpg

@737lizakg what a lovely colour I am looking forward to seeing more close ups and shots from the top down. Gorgeous

Can't wait to see it finished!

This is my daughter's and my project, but of course she will be the one who is going to own the piece. I bought 3 main stones: 0.63ct and 0.29ct Nasarawa teal aquas from Jeff Hapeman of Earth's Treasury and 0.14ct Brazilian alexandrite from GemsNY. They weren't cheap! I also donated 6+ grams of gold jewelry I didn't want anymore for her to sell to the jeweler. She created sketches and paid for the entire custom project. Oh, I forgot that I also donated 6 small diamonds set in a pendant she gave me as a present many years ago, she traded them for the small diamonds of better quality her jeweler is going to use for the current project. She paid for everything in full, wired $$$$ from her bank account on March 2, and on March 13 as you all know, the lockdown in California took place. Her jeweler is Jorge Gonzales, the owner of Dynasty Jewelers I believe, whose shop is located inside shopping mall in San Jose, CA, so everyone was waiting till the entire mall reopens. Yesterday, on June 22nd, she finally received the CAD from Jorge. Today she brought her colored stones to the shop (they represent her little family, parents born in March and baby girl born in June). On Saturday we will go together so I can start my own project, a ring and a pair of earrings with Russian demantoids for my older granddaughter. 33''''' (1).jpg33''''' (3).jpg33''(4).JPG33(5).jpg33''''.jpg33'.jpg33'''''.jpg

@Musia how delightful! I love that it symbolizes her family. What color gold will it be in?

She decided to have it in yellow I believe.

Thank you, I would love to show many pictures of it!

I bought this lot of lavender jadeite cabochons and design one simple everyday ring for myself :)
The one i choose for the ring is the one at the bottom right sized at 13 x 11 x 7mm. The biggest is the teardrop shaped sized at 21 x 15 x 6mm. Still thinking on what to do with it.

Here are my two spinels that will get set into 18K rose gold, even though the Stuller models/pictures are probably 14K rose gold.

The one on the left is a Tanzanian purple spinel that will get set into Stuller 71629 in 18K rose gold with F VS diamonds. Just a simple halo design.

The spinel on the right will get set into Stuller 71952, also 18K rose gold. The spinel will be haloed by F VS diamonds, with a couple mint garnets on the sides.

Love your spinel colour, so beautifully lavender! I think that lavender with mint green is a lovely combination. I have a CRD sapphire/demantoid ring in similar colour combo. I am curious as to why you have chosen to set spinels in rose gold. Would the two rings look rather similar?

1) I have enough purple and lavender things set into white metals.
2) Apart from providing contrast, I don't think white metals do anything to enhance the color of lavender, and might wash them out. A white diamond halo can provide the contrast, and the rose gold would be a third color to complement the spinel workout washing it out.
3) I'd like to wear my lavender spinels with pink and mint green colors, which I have already set into rose gold.

Add to whether they'd look similar...I think not? They're different colors after all, and the two settings have different galleries. One spinel is more elongated, and the other spinel is more square.

@voce

I meant to ask you, what are the green and lavender side stones in the red spinel flower ring? Garnet and spinel? Or sapphire? I really love how the colors come together.

I keep leaning towards variations the same color combos. So for our next project I left it completely up to Yvonne to come up with something...the caveat being that i need my finger coverage :)
