Now I really did it :((

Hello lovelies

Honestly, this lab just goes from bad to worse @missy, they never seem to get anything right. Looks like you had the perfect day yesterday, great photos.

Soooo, I did a thing today, I decided I wanted some large studs so I asked for help on the MMD thread. I’m not going to buy anymore expensive jewellery, so these will be perfect.

I’ll have them set locally by the guy who did my bracelet.

Off to Trivia later, hope you’re all doing well and staying safe.

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy yes you love those outdoor kitties and I am sure they think you are pretty awesome too. I am glad Greg’s lab showed some improvement and WTH they messed up on your labs again? I was hoping the college your niece is going to doesn’t have that crap going on there. I am enjoying our new house. So nice Jimmy takes care of your for ice cream if he’s closed.

@Austina I eat steak or hamburger 90% of the time, so I just sometimes have to go for something different. I laughed that my meal cost more than Marty’s for a change. LOL to the ground swallowing up your rocks. When Marty got 3 tons for the little spot out front I thought that is WAY too much. Nope, it fit perfect. I hope you have nice weather for your company. We’ve had a lot of rain too. Marty planted some more trees and put chicken wire around them trying to keep them from becoming dinner for the critters around here. How exciting to get some big MMD earrings. I went with a friend to look at them one, they are quite pretty.

We got our shades installed today. We like them, they look nice. The ones in the living room and in the stairwell are on a remote, so we set them to open at sunrise and set at sunset. I was anxious to see what they did at sunset, but we were outside and missed them. They were closed when we came back in though. We were out looking at the moon and Venus.

I can’t believe it’s almost Friday already. Funny, as a retired person you’d think I wouldn’t pay attention to that anymore. Ha Ha.

And yes, my wrist is slightly better but still not right. Phooey.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls and happy FriYAY!

@marcy luckily I have the supervisor's mobile and called her and she fixed the labs and added the correct tests. I already got most of my results and just waiting for one lab now. Thanks for your kind words about the kitties and my niece. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. My asthma has been flaring again despite the Dupixent. I sure hope I don't need steroids. Life saving as they may be they come with so many adverse effects but breathing takes precedence over almost everything else lol. Sweet you like your new shades. Cool you saw the moon and Venus. Ugh I am very sorry your wrist is not yet all better and hopefully it will be soon... yes Jimmy does take good care of us and I still am unsure why he gave us the keys to his shoppe so quickly after meeting us (less than 2 months IIRV) but I am glad he trusts is and I am glad he did give us the keys though at the time we tried refusing them and he would not take no for an answer...and from one retired person to another (sort of semi retired I guess haha) what is a weekend as HRH Francesca used to say :)

@Austina ooooh I cannot wait to see your large studs...I bet it's going to be gorgeous. I LOVE my OEC studs and they are now a regular part of my earring rotation and this is from a girl who never thought she would wear studs. I was wrong. Mary Ann and Ginger are two (one?) of my favorite wardrobe staples and hope your new studs will be enjoyed as much...thanks for your kind words and everything has been straightened out with regards to my labs. The supervisor at Quest fixed it for me. I have her on speed dial lol. If she ever leaves Quest I will be up the creek. One of my favorite techs left months ago and we miss him but that was different and while we miss him he was not critical in getting our Quest labs right and she is critical in getting my labs right. Hope you had fun at trivia the other night

@Slickk one week (almost) down...sending you so many good wishes for a smooth school year

@canuk-gal happy FriYAY...any weekend plans? Looks like we might be getting rain this weekend but it was a great cycling few weeks for sure. Dry cool mostly sunny weather in the 70s F. Today feels much more humid however and I am having some difficulty with my breathing. Not sure what weather works best for my lungs because so many different things trigger it. Weird. Anyway happy weekend to be and hope whatever you do is very enjoyable

@springerspaniel how is work going? Thinking of you and hoping all is going well and as smoothly as possible

Hello everyone else. We had a lovely two past days of cycling and yesterday AM before cycling Greg and I saw our gastro. I have never had a colonoscopy and have been putting it off but know within the next year or so I should just go for it. My low serum phosphorus levels makes the prep more risky as it will deplete my phosphorus further...my gastro wants to give me phosphorus pills during the prep so we shall see. I am putting it off a bit longer for now. Greg is going to have his in February likely with an endoscopy as I do not feel he is absorbing his nutrients as well as he should be. But it is not an emergency so we are waiting for winter so as not to interfere with our outdoor activities. The gastro wants me to gain weight. I have not been eating less but the stress is burning calories faster than usual. Worried about many things and I compartmentalize as best I can but I know I have to practice calming techniques and try not letting the stress affect me. But as I know you all know it is challenging. Speaking of de stressing ice cream is a great de-stressor lol

Leaving you with our ice cream selection of the past two days. First up Jimmy's ice cream pour for us Wednesday....he is very generous. Greg didn't even do as large a pour the day before lol

Screen Shot 2024-09-06 at 6.17.36 AM.png

And yesterday's ice cream...so good...yummmmm

And a very very happy birthday today to our dear PSer @diamondseeker2006
May your day be everything you hope it will be and may all your birthday wishes come true

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!

Had a gorgeous ride this am--DH golfing so I rode alone. Stunning weather. Was attacked by a wasp and dropped my ice cream. blarg. Had a nice lunch with my friend. It is our 39 anniversary today, so we'll enjoy some champagne later.

@missy hope you enjoyed your ride today. And ice cream!
@Austina I look forward to seeing your new earrings. Some cushions would set me up foe life!
@marcy don't work too hard!

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy love all the kitty pictures. That’s great the supervisor took care of your labs. I hope you don’t have to go on steroids, but breathing is important, sorry that’s giving you trouble. Does your asthma get worse in the fall? My allergies are terrible then. Jimmy can tell good people when he meets them, he knew you and Greg would take care of his ice cream shop. I still chuckle about the time I borrowed 25 cents from Marty’s best friend at work for the vending machine and went to pay him back about 20 minutes later. He was SOOOOO mad at me. I’m like, I don’t care who you are of how much you and Marty buy each other drinks and meals. I borrowed 25 cents from you and I’m paying it back. LOL to one retired person to another. I was suckered in to working today, but after 2 hours, I said, gotta go. Have a great day. I’m glad you are enjoying your studs. I like studs quite a bit. Sorry you are so stressed, I’m glad ice cream helps. Big hugs to you.

@canuk-gal oh no to getting attacked by a wasp. Did you get stung? I hope you are okay. Phooey to dropping your ice cream. Glad you had a lovely ride. I quit at 2 hours today. I’m trying to not work on Saturday or Sunday.

We got around early and went to breakfast then stopped at the hardware store. Seems like we are there a lot. It’s like we’re trying to get things set up in a new house or something. Marty has been cutting boards and screwing things together for his observatory. He’s trying to get as many pieces and parts cut and put together as he can since he’s waiting on the guy to do concrete.

Marty should FIRE his gym bookkeeper. I went to reconcile transactions from August and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t balance. I hadn’t finished doing it in July. It was ALMOST done, but not quite. He gets what he pays for in his bookkeeper. LOL.

I brewed up another batch of Snickerdoodles. One of my grand-nephews is getting married on the 20th. They are in the 20’s and trying to keep that wedding budget down, so are asking some of their favorite bakers to make cookies for the reception. I’ll make one or two more types of cookies to take.

Take care.
Marcy

Hello lovelies

Happy cataday Saturday

Oh no, to being chased by a wasp @canuk-gal , I bet the little devil didn’t offer to buy you a new ice cream but just buzzed off. How’s the house hunting going?

It’s the same for us @marcy at Home Depot, we seem to still be there several times a week even after two years. What a great idea to ask people to bake for the reception, you better get busy because if they’re anything like the ones you gave us, they soon get gobbled up.

So glad you’ve been enjoying the good weather to get out and cycle @missy, and of course the obligatory stop for delicious ice cream.

We finally managed to get into the pool for the first time this week. It was lovely and sunny today but very windy. Looks like the weather is going to be improving just in time for our friends getting here.

Not much else on the cards for this weekend might cut the grass tomorrow. It’s been three weeks!

Have a great weekend .

HI:

@marcy no luckily I didn't get bit--but it was so close to my face it is a wonder that I didn't! But it startled me that I dropped my cone. @Austina nope, no replacement cone was provided!!!

cheers--Sharon

Good evening lovely ladies and happy funday Sunday!

@marcy thank you. I seem to have asthma all year round now so no specific time of year it gets worse. Though my skin issues tend to exacerbate in the autumn with change of temps so we shall see. I am so sorry about your allergies. LOL about the 25 cents and Marty's friend. I am the same way. I do not like to ask for favors or borrow money or anything so I get how you feel. OMG did you say snickerdoodles...YUMmmmmmmmm. How wonderful your grandnephew is getting married and you are helping them by baking. So lovely of you

@canuk-gal we have so many wasps and bees here and I have not yet been stung but I feel it is only a matter of time. Knowing me I will have an anaphylactic reaction lol. I am glad you did not get stung! I am very sorry about the ice cream drop however and feel the establishment should have given you another cone. I don't know if you watch King of Queens but in the opening Doug drops his cone and Carrie gets him another and I like to think they didn't have to pay again. LOL. Glad you got to enjoy beautiful weather and cycling...sweet

@Austina yay for nice weather and enjoying the pool. Long may that continue. Hope the mowing goes smoothly. Our lawn guy ghosted us this year so Greg does the mowing himself now. And he does a much better job than the lawn guy ever did. You know that quote...if you want a job done right do it yourself...truth

@Slickk how is it Sunday evening already...hope you had a wonderful weekend

Hey everyone else. Leaving you with ice cream photos over the past two days. We went cycling both days and it was glorious. PURRRRFECT weather and furry friends, human friends, cycling, ice cream..just amazing.

Archie..such a love
Visited with him and his mommy and daddy in our former neighborhood as we were cycling...

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!

Had a long, lovely ride alone today. It is hazy and smoky, but I went anyway. The weather is to turn cold and wet this week. The smoke seemed to blow off and it was warm @28C, but now the temp is dropping and the smoke is back. Have the Hepa on. Nice to have Indian take out left overs today--yay to no cooking!

@missy hope the kitties dental work goes smoothly. Hope your weather is cycle worthy! How are your folks? Is your niece settling into school?
@marcy I hope the observatory build goes well. Nice to help with the cookie baking--you are the expert!
@Slickk hope the school year is starting nicely
@Austina landscaping seems to be a work in progress. From where do your visitors hail?
@MamaBee and @mrs-b hope things are well with you both. Hope to hear from you soon.

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Well today didn’t go as planned - more later!

Our visitors are from England, our best friends and my former hairdresser. I’m in dire need of a haircut, so she’s arriving just time! We’re taking them to Vegas, as they’ve never been before, so should be a fun visit. Yum to an Indian takeaway, what did you have?

If I was eligible to vote, I’d vote for Milton @missy, he looks honest (lol). I hope things are cgoing smoothly for your niece, and she’s settling in well.

I hope you had a good weekend @marcy and didn’t have to work!

Sooooo, our lovely Colombian neighbours were asking us about the car when we were at their place last week, so we said we’d take them over to the dealer today, as we were going to get the car washed, then we’d go out for lunch. I let them know we were on our way to pick them up, but, zip, nada, nothing, the car wouldn’t start! I rang Lexus, and they said it sounded like the battery was dead. I called the breakdown people and they said they’d come and get us started, so we could go to the dealer. They arrived, and we went straight to the dealer. The checked everything and said, yes, it was the battery, so replaced it and we got home. Absolutely typical after extolling the reliability of the car for this to happen.

Fortunately it was today and not Thursday when we’re picking up our friends.

GM girls, happy terrific Tuesday!

@canuk-gal thank you! Next week we bring them in for the dental. My sister is very sick right now though and while she is at work if she is still sick next week we will be postponing. I am not a germaphobe per se but pretty close since Covid. Sorry about your cold wet weather and the smoke and hope things clear soon..sending you many good wishes!

@Austina thank you and us too lol/ He is the most qualified candidate no doubt
So sorry about the car! That is very rare for Lexus and I hope this is your last bad experience with cars! Sending you good car vibes

@Slickk hope your week is going more smoothly than ours LOL

Hello everyone else.
Excuse me for the all about me post right now. Running late as Greg and I both have an early AM medical appointment and yesterday was a FULL day. The rim on the bike cracked 20 miles from home and for the first time in 25 years (since we have been cycling on a tandem) Greg could not fix it. He didn't even attempt to and we called Triple AAA but after 2 hours of waiting I called my friend to get me (the plan was to leave Greg there waiting for triple A as they said they were on their way but our friend insisted on trying to fit the over 10 foot bike in her car. LOL. I was worried about damaging the car with grease or worse but she insisted.

People who came out when this happened and kept us company offered rope and tape to make it work and we got the tandem into the back of the car (seats down) but half of it was sticking out and tied with rope... and we got home three hours after the rim broke. What a day. LOL.

Greg spent all night last night rebuilding a new wheel (back wheel) so we could ride this week. This week is so busy though and we will be squeezing cycling into each day between appointments as best we can.

Today our annual for both of us and we have not seen this MD for three years. Tomorrow both of us have a nephrology appointment AM and in the PM I managed to get my OP specialist to agree finally to see Greg so we only have three hours between appointments to cycle Wednesday. And then Thursday I have an AM appointment and Friday I must be home for a delivery that requires immediate refrigeration so it will be a challenging cycling week but we will do our best. Monday not off to the best start LOL

I will come back later or tomorrow if I can but didn't want to let a day go by without saying hello and sending love your way XOXO

Can you see the rim cracked and separated from the tire? We lost part of the rim and the noise was so loud people came out of their homes as they heard it inside!

Screen Shot 2024-09-10 at 5.01.17 AM.png

All in all a very adventurous day
Hoping for a more peaceful one today but I doubt it haha
Off to the city soon
Enjoy a terrific Tuesday girls

Ok so that was a big fat bust lol. Accident in the Lincoln tunnel. Stuck for 3.5 hours before we could move and at that point we missed our appointments so we turned back for home. Exciting week so far lol. And I had to pee so bad I used a Tupperware container in the car. TG we had something I could use!

Have a great day girls ♥️

Well it seems on some forums I cannot reply without quoting the whole post! Anyway, what are the odds @Austina your new Lexus would need a new battery. Nevertheless, better now as you say than the day your friends arrive! I hope they enjoy Vegas--eye opener for sure!

Hello lovelies

I just had to quote your post in order to write the post @canuk-gal and can’t access any smilies. Just one of those those things, the first guy I spoke to at Lexus said it could’ve just been a duffer.

What a bummer @missy, it must’ve been very frustrating sitting in the traffic going nowhere.

Honestly, because of the way Lexus dealt with it yesterday, I’m not even annoyed about the battery. We don’t drive that much, so maybe that had something to do it with. The mechanic at Lexus said if we ever call and they say they don’t have a loaner, call him because he’ll always make sure we get another vehicle. Night and day service from yiu know who.

We’ve had a busy day, cleaning all the garden furniture and cushions ready for T & J’s arrival. Went in the pool after. Another busy day tomorrow.

GM lovely ladies! Happy wonderful Wednesday!

@Austina sounds like you are all ready for your friends visit. And yes Lexus customer service is top notch. It's why we have had only Lexus cars since 2001 or so

@canuk-gal all in a day's work lol..cannot make this stuff up
Today we have three medical appointments so I hope they go more smoothly

@MamaBee looking forward to having you back here

@Slickk hope all is going well

Hello everyone else.
We had a great cycling day after we got back from the missed appointments. Amazing how one accident can cause so much havoc for so many. I am sure we were not the only ones whose entire schedule was messed up by that multi hour delay.

We have two medical appointments this morning. Then cycling.
Then another medical appointment this afternoon. Busy day and hope it all goes well

Enjoy a wonderful Wednesday lovely ladies. Be well. XOXO

Hello lovelies

Yesterday was busy and just got away from us!

I hope your medical appts went better yesterday @missy, in as much as you actually got there !

It’s already been one of those mornings. I woke up @2.47am and I knew something was wrong. I tried to get back to sleep, but couldn’t. Just before 6am, I checked on our friend’s flight, but it showed it was delayed. I kept checking and it was still delayed. Anyway, long story short, there was an issue with the plane, first they had to change a tyre, then the engineer was working on something else.

My friend messaged me to say they were still waiting, so Colin started checking on alternative flights in case it got cancelled. We armed them with lost of alternatives that BA would have to get them on (knowing the relevant article to quote and your rights) in case the flight got cancelled. I kept updating T on what FlightAware was saying in terms of take off, but it was getting close to the crew getting timed out. They eventually took off offer 2 1/2 hours late, and are going to land at the worst possible time for traffic.

Hoping nothing happens on the flight and they turn back, but it’ll be a real drag from the airport getting there and home.

Still, we’re very excited to see them, so whatever it takes.

I probably won’t be around much while they’re here.

Love and hugs to you all.

Hi girls! It’s so good to be back. I hope you are all doing well..Just a quick update..I mentioned I was diagnosed with Neuromyelitis Optical Spectrum Disorder..(NMO)..I just finished my first set of Infusions. The infusions help keep the attacks from happening. They can result in blindness, paralysis and pain. My first attacks caused me to have mild damage to my optic nerve. Somehow the attack on my eye was aborted. It could have caused blindness. I was incidentally prescribed two rounds of steroids for what my doctor thought was muscle pain. I think they stopped that attack because I was taking them when it started. TG..I was left with Allodynia which is permanent. Each attack leaves damage which accumulates with each attack. I was left with Alloydynia which is burning skin. I couldn’t wear tops, bras with straps without it causing extreme pain. I also had severe spasms in the front of my neck where I would scream. I was prescribed Gabapentin which had to be slowly increased. I’m at a very high dose to keep the spasms and pain to a level where I can function. It’s still very painful..but I’m actually very lucky. I belong to an NMO board where women and men are blind and paralyzed from their attacks. While I was waiting to get approval for a VERY expensive infusion preventative I was a sitting duck for another attack. I remind myself every day I’m extremely lucky. I’m on a preventative now that is a new drug with a really good success rate for keeping attacks from happening. It’s not a guarantee but there’s a treatment that can be done in a hospital that can stop the attack if I get there fast enough.
Sooooo..That’s where I’ve been..I’m so happy to be back and kind of catch up..I will start reading! I thought of you girls often and missed you all. @missy messaged me almost every single day. It meant a lot to me.
I’m back to doing mundane things like doing a little grocery shopping with my amazing husband. He has been my rock. We always loved each but somehow we are like we fell in love with each other again.
Sorry for all the TMI and mush but we’re good friends in my eyes..even though we’ve never met.
I’ve pulled out my jewelry again.. ;)
I had to edit this to say I really was so upset to hear that Shelly passed away. @mrs-b called me. Shelly wasn’t a friend of mine but I felt an affection for her love of jewelry and newly married life. I know it was such devastating news to people who were her friends and family. @mrs-b was a good friend to her..
@mrs-b also checked in on me..❤️
Love to you all! ❤️

Hi girls! It’s so good to be back.

Good morning beautiful, I come here from time to time to check in on PSers who are facing myriad challenges and was relieved to read your update that there is a treatment that is bringing you some relief. You are a brave woman, although I suspect you do not feel so all the time, to meet the challenge of your disease with grace and hope. I hope your health remains stable but most of all improves so that you can enjoy life to the fullest. Hugs.

I’m so happy to see you back @MamaBee , what an awful ordeal this has been for you, and so glad to hear that S has been supporting you in every way. It’s good that you’ve been able to keep such a positive attitude through all this, and that they’ve found a treatment plan that’s working out. I’m sure I can speak for all of us when I say that we’ve thought of you often and willed you better.

+ a billion. I am happy you found a great Dr. who could provide you a diagnosis and treatment for what can only be an uncommon malady. Get better!!!!!

How is the house stuff going? Have you sold anything?

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very rainy and chilly day. I went out and got wet!! LOL Luckily this weather is only supposed to be for today. Had a decent shift yesterday! I have my female check up tomorrow and really not looking forward to it.

@Austina hope your friend arrive safe and sound. And that you enjoy your visit!
@missy when it rains it pours. Sitting in traffic for that length of time would drive me to distraction.
@mrs-b hope things are well by you.

cheers--Sharon

So happy to see you back and on a new treatment! I’ll keep praying that you continue to improve! What an awful time. And trying to find a diagnosis is one of the most difficult parts.
I adore that it brought you and your dh closer together. I found the same when I suffered my health issue a few years back. It was surprising how hard we fell again when we thought we could lose one another.
Thanks for checking in! ((Hugs)) and ❤️

And the day has got worse. Our friends have arrived OK, very late, but safely, and now they’re tucked up in bed, absolutely shattered.

While we were in the cell phone lot, I got a message from our friend Tom. We just spoke to him on Friday, his wife recently had 2 strokes and also suffers from dementia. She sounded quite chipper on Friday, and we made plans for them to come and visit when she was up to it. The message was that at 5pm, Karen died very suddenly. I feel so bad for them. Life is very fleeting, and and everything can change in a heartbeat.

GM girls. Happy FriYAY.

A lot to take in here. First of all @Austina I am so sorry for the terrible loss of your friend. My heart goes out to you and her husband and all her loved ones. I hope you can still enjoy this visit with your friends and I am sending you gentle hugs and deepest condolences. Life can and does change in a moment and when I start thinking about it I cannot shake how random and traumatic life can be. Over the past 11 months I have seen how life is truly unfair and how little control we have

@MamaBee so happy to see you are up to posting. Big hugs sweet friend. You know I am always here for you day or night and I am pleased you and S have been brought even closer together. That's what it is all about. A partner is a soft place to fall. A safe haven from the storm. And you navigate life's many challenges together. That is true love. And as my dad always said when I was little "Missy, no one gets out of this life alive". Truth. And we make the most of life while we are here on earth. It is the best any of us can do. Sending continued healing vibes your way

@canuk-gal aww thanks. TG we had something in the car I was able to pee in...I told Greg I cannot do it but he said yes you can...lol. First time for everything  And now, you can bet, we will never not have something in the car for such emergencies again. I do learn from each experience. As Jimmy loves to say your'e either winning or learning. He's not wrong :)
We are cycling our hearts out despite lots of interruptions from medical appointments and work and board stuff. Life is a juggling act for sure and being in the moment is invaluable. I hope you are enjoying a beautiful week

@Slickk yay, it is almost the weekend...have a fantastic FriYAY and a great weekend dear friend. Thank you for being by my side as a supportive and loving friend. It means the world to me and I want you to know that

I have been thinking of our dear Shelley every day. I still am in disbelief she is gone. A bright light extinguished far too soon. There is no sense to be made from this. None. Shelley we all miss you and while I do not believe in an afterlife I hope I am wrong.

We had a good day yesterday. I had an appointment in the AM then we went cycling. Then Greg had a board meeting. Today more cycling and then Greg has a bachelor party in the city. I am expecting a med delivery and pray it arrives cold and safe and on time.Very scary I have to rely on others to get this med. Without it I cannot breathe so it is not optional. But I am fatigued from the effort it takes to get it tbh. Anyway just hoping that goes smoothly because nothing leading up to it did.

Enjoy a fantastic FriYAY lovely ladies. Sending love and hugs and all good things XOXO
May it be sweet, fruitful and fun and peaceful too
Jimmy really loaded us up

Have a fabulous FriYAY all and hug your loved ones close and tell the people who matter the most to you how much you love them.

Hugs.

Thank you so much @Matata ..It’s so good to be back..

Thank you @Slickk .. ❤️
