GM girls!! Happy Caturday Saturday!!! Freezing here at the shore. Windy. Cold. Extreme. Hello almost winter
Just came back from a 24 minute ordeal of trying to pill Tommy. Yay success. He is worth the effort. Last night he slept on my tummy all night. I sleep on my back all night now due to the hand splint I have to wear). He often sleeps with us but not often the entire night but I think with the cold weather upon us body heat is a mutual luxury lol


@canuk-gal no to snow. I am with you and not a happy camper in winter but spring will come soon enough. I hope! And I hope the predictions for a cold snowy winter are wrong wrong wrong. Yay for sales but I do not want to buy anything because we need nothing. I am weak however so will probably end up scoring some (sweet I hope) deals...today I might to to the jewelry show in NYC...its' freezing and windy here so what better thing to do than browse bling? LOL. Speaking of shopping I got four new hats lol. And one is cherry red! With a pom pom One fun thing about the colder weather. I enjoy the clothes. Sweet you put the tree up. We usually put it up near Christmas and take it down many many months after This year we took it down in July. The cats enjoy it and I enjoy the light from it during the shorter days for sure

Thank you all for your well wishes and compassion. Yesterday went fine. My RT is scheduled for the entire week of December 2nd but the time has not been given to me yet. Dr W's assistant will be calling me Sunday with the time. I hope. I now have three little tattoos on my right hand. Fingers bleed a lot did you know? LOL


Also yesterday we went hiking before the appointment and wouldn't you know it I slipped. Yup. Everything was wet and leaves everywhere and so down I went despite being super careful. I swear it's in my DNA no matter how careful I am. @MamaBee TYSM for your company yesterday lol. I know we get each other all too well. Anyway besides that (cut under chin that bled a lot and sore knee and arm now black and blue) it all went well and now I wait. Not looking forward to it but looking forward to getting the first part done. Four parts. Twenty days. Over the course of a year. Fun fun fun

@missy I am so sorry you fell down, I bet you are sore today. Thank goodness you didn’t break anything. I hate to hear the kitties aren’t showing up to eat in the weather. I’m hoping they are snuggled up somewhere warm. That is too bad the wrist cuffs leave marks, I don’t think I get mine on tight enough, but they sure help. My wrist is better, not right though. How are your fingers coming along? I bet getting even little tattoos on them hurt. Good luck with your RT next month. The less I can do with my to bent fingers on my right hand, makes me think of you all the time. I love your festive hat. It looks great. My favorite holiday table cloth had reindeer on it and it was for a smaller table, so I can never use it. I think it got donated to Good Will when I was packing though.

@canuk-gal darn the snow and cold are so bad. At least you got stuck in the driveway, that’s better than somewhere else. Be safe out there. I guess the bomb cyclone knocked over huge trees in California and one of the guys Marty worked with had one fall right on their house and smashed it pretty bad. I hope you have nice weather for Black Friday shopping. That’s great you enjoy working your one day a week. I generally like my job. It keeps me busy. Sweet to have your tree up. I need to figure out where to put up my Snoopy village. I could break it up among end tables in the living room. Or put it in my office. Technically, I’d see it more during the week in there.

@Austina lol to “we” is “me”. I am debating how much we’ll decorate this year. I’d miss all the lights though. That’s too bad about Dottie and your Alaskan trip. I am glad she was well-taken care of while you were gone and I hope you and Colin enjoyed the trip since I’m sure you wanted to be home with her. Ugh to waiting to get approval from the HOA so long. Our community has a clause, if they don’t respond in seven days consider it approved.

Some friends came over for lunch yesterday (and cards). I made homemade cocoa brownies and they didn’t eat them all, so I froze the rest of them. I am too tempted to eat them all otherwise. Marty is out working on the observatory today, according to the latest forecast, it’s the nicest day we’ll have for the near future. His helpers have quit coming to help on the weekend and he won’t ask them. He won’t hire someone to do things. So I guess it is what it is. I get it. I prefer to do things myself.

We are meeting some friends for supper in a while. They have an exchange student staying with them from Belgium. It should be fun to meet her.

@marcy thank you for your compassion and boy are you right. I am in pain. Started getting worse yesterday and last night. I can barely lift my arms. Darn. From a fall. Ridiculous. I don't remember much about it but I don't think I put my arms out to break the fall and that is why my chin hit the ground. But I did a number on my arms, back and neck. My leg feels better but not the rest of me. LOL what a KLUTZ!!!!!!! Glad you enjoyed having friends over and yummy to homemade cocoa brownies. I can smell and taste it from here. My imagination is working in full force and now at 640AM I want brownies lolol I am sorry your wrist is not 100% but glad it is better. I am also so very sorry about your fingers. Sending you healing vibes and lots of well wishes. The tattoos hurt a little but manageable compared to my other ailments Thanks for asking.

We had a great time at the jewelry show yesterday and I will share a few photos I took. I did not take many but took a few for all of you.
I love Bubbalah so much. I told Greg never let me sell her. I was talking about selling her last year because I never wore her due to my Dupuytren's but now that I had her resized over the summer I fell in love with her all over again. She is a true antique beauty. Just like Bella @Austina and we should never feel guilty for all the bling we have. Whether we wear it or not. Consider ourselves collectors lol. But in any case I know you wear Bella and love her as I enjoy wearing Bubbalah and love her. Without much ado here are some photos of the show.

OK so not in love with this stone as it is too tinted and too chaotic regarding the faceting. BUT I LOVE the setting and the marquise shape. So pretty. $55,000 but the vendor told me 20% off










OK next up Anup. His design with this lovely antique emerald cut. I didn't get details sorry because we started talking about a stunning emerald cut antique diamond he was getting that would be 300K and what was my budget. Oh I wish. Sure we could spend that but I wouldn't in good conscience. We have many other necessary things we want to spend money on and unfortunately bling in this category is too much for me but a girl can dream. Again I have no clue as to the stats on this ring sorry. Just got to talking with Anup about my 300K dream emerald cut He showed me a video of the stone. SWOON!!!!!!










And last up OMG my dream non ER ring. GRACE!!! I love her!!!! She is the sweetest. (and her darling daughter is a true gem...Julia is so lovely and I enjoyed chatting with her). Grace was my first stop and she is so kind and lovely. And she held my coat for the entire show which was super helpful too. But the bling. She is my favorite. Her jewels are unparalleled and attainable which makes it even more exciting for me. Anyway this ring. I fell in love. M color (for Missy ) and so romantic and elegant. From the Belle Epoque era. Just my style. I won't lie. I thought about it. It's not crazy expensive. But I cannot justify because when would I wear her? I wear Bubbalah and I don't like the look of two big diamond rings on my hands at the same time. But oh. Still thinking about her and the M does not bother me at all like I thought it would. She does not look tinted at all. Just soft. Anyway here she is. I LOVE her














OK one more...these are Grace's rose cut diamond earrings. Usually not a fan of rose cut but in person...swoon!!!!!!



Grace gave me a great price for these too but I think they are a bit too heavy for my ears. So if anyone is interested they are up for grabs. Very sweet. But of course I would love a PSer to buy the Belle Epoque ring so I could live vicariously through you. That ring is 37K and I think that's a good price.

OK then when we got home I decided to take a couple of Bubbalah videos as I have not done that for years. She is very very full of personality. She is not a quiet girl

Hello everyone else. Hope a wonderful weekend was enjoyed by all

We went for an easy hike yesterday due to my injuries and while my arm is still hard to lift above my waist it is SLOWLY getting better. Whew. We saw so much wildlife on our hike. It was amazing. Today it is still cold but less windy so debating what the days activities should be. Getting up from a low sitting position will be challenging due to the nature of my injuries but I won't let that stop me if the weather is deemed cycling friendly today...

Busy busy day today as I have many phone calls to make to reschedule all my appointments etc the week of December 2nd and no one's office is open before 9AM. Wednesday we have our annual appointments to make up from September when we got stuck before the Lincoln tunnel for three hours and missed our appointments. Hope that doesn't happen again but stranger things have happened so if it does I will take that as a sign not to reschedule a third time!

Hello lovelies

Ugh, I’m so sorry @missy, I hope you’re not feeling too battered, it’s so easy to trip and fall, especially on uneven ground. Thanks for the photos of the bling, gorgeous but not as beautiful as Bubbalah. Let’s hope you don’t experience the delays you did last time. Our American friends always used to say “how about we got to x when we visit you, it’s only x miles away” I always used to laugh and tell them if may only be x miles away, but the if the traffic is bad, it could take hours and hours.

I hope you had fun meeting your friends and their exchange student @marcy, nice to meet new people and go out for a meal. Fingers crossed the roofers turn up on Wednesday.

Oh no to more snow @canuk-gal, it sounds brutal, I hope you keep safe and warm.

The guy came on Saturday morning as promised. Gave us a price, and we agreed. He was already doing work around here, so came back in the afternoon, took Colin to go and get the tree and came back and planted it. So pleased with it, and even more pleased that he didn’t try to rip us off. We had to go out and get more soil, and ties for the stakes they put in. One of the tree people round here wanted $2000 for the tree and $700 to deliver it We got it for $200!


Took the car in for service this morning, they gave us a loaner so we went to the local shops and tootled around for a bit, headed back, and barely had time for a cup of tea at the dealer and the car was ready. All done for another 6 months.

It was really warm today, 80degs, but the temps have definitely dropped now.

Thank you @Austina I am feeling better. My knee is still a bit sore but I can lift both arms now woohoo. And yes you are quite correct about mileage and time. Especially in this area. Not looking forward to tomorrow AM but hoping for the best. Whatever happens we will deal with it. But if we don't make this appointment tomorrow I will not be rescheduling again.We will just see the local internist here. Just that I felt he wasn't thorough and that is why I wanted to go back to see my internist of 25 plus years. We had not seen him in the past three years and once three years passes we are considered new patients. We will see how it goes. Wow 80 degrees! It was in the low 50s yesterday here and I was cold because we cycled and that breeze we generate on top of the already windy weather... I had the heated jacket on but still chilly for me. Fun but cold. Great you got the tree planted..so pretty. Greg loves gardening and landscaping etc and I enjoy our pretty lawn and garden I admit but have no patience to do gardening myself.

@Slickk yay it's tuesday...almost thanksgiving and I know you are going to enjoy your grandma status especially now during the holidays

@MamaBee such a lovely band. I hope you get it. And wow two hours at the drs...we are lucky to get 20 minutes lol. Greg asked what they did for 2 hours

Hello everyone else. We went cycling yesterday and it was chilly but glad we went. Today looks too wet but might clear by late morning and if it does we might go cycling. Depends what time it clears. Unfortunately looks like a very wet Thanksgiving here but it's OK. We need the rain still.

Cooled down considerably today, in fact it was downright chilly. I did some cleaning and made a big pot of French onion soup. We checked in for the cruise and that was the sum of the excitement in these parts

@Austina yes we enjoyed cycling yesterday despite the chill and wind. We reached 9,700 miles! It's not a great weather week from here on in though but when we get home from the city late morning will revaluate if we can cycle today because rain is in the forecast starting tomorrow and colder temps. We did get wet for the first hour of the ride which wasn't too bad because it was mildish in the low 60s. So I felt OK. But the temps have dropped again. No matter what it's been a good cycling season. And LOL yes Pythagoras is a hit and he's also holding the menorah so I'm sure that also catches a few eyes. Santa holding a menorah

Yesterday we got wet for the first hour cycling but as I wrote above it wasn't bad as the temps were mild. Today is colder and just as windy but dry. We won't be getting home til late morning due to medical appointments but if we can cycle then we will. I hope everyone is looking forward to this holiday season. Truthfully I am looking forward to winter being over and it hasn't yet started oy to the vey. But we will go hiking and walking and hopefully organize stuff in the house. I cannot believe we are at the end of November already wow. And now temps are declining to the 30s...Brrrrrrr...feels like winter here now

Yesterday morning we had a great appointment with our PCP. Have not seen him for three years and he is wonderful. Totally worth the long trip. And he does not age LOL. I swear he looks the same as when I started seeing him over 20 years ago. When we got back home we went cycling but it was chillier than I like and while we enjoyed cycling I was chilly most of the ride. Despite the heated vest. I reluctantly have to accept I cannot ride when the temps are below 50. Yesterday the temps were 51 and partly sunny and I was still cold cycling.

Today is rain rain rain and the poor kitties greeted us this AM despite the rain but now it is raining harder so hope they got enough food. They won't come out when it is torrential as it is now. I am glad we got up early to feed them this AM (before 5AM) because by 520 AM it was already torrential rains.

Had a great shift yesterday, my colleagues bought me a gorgeous cake, and sang HB! I was choked.

Got up early and hit the mall with a list of stuff to buy for Christmas. BF was never a thing here in past, but it has been in the last few years! Fulfilled my list, small as it is. Plus a few extras! Glad I went today, as tomorrow will be madness.

DH took the car in for an oil change--and felt guilty by the upsell in "what you need". I would have said NO and left with what I booked for. But he isn't me. Dealer maintenance stops now.

But the colder weather is coming and the prediction this winter is for a lot of snow. I will be a nervous wreck about the kitties but trying to take it one day at a time. I just wish they would use the heated shelters that we are keeping heated for them. But I don't think they are. Have a great day...any purchases planned?

Hello everyone else. Hope all is going smoothly.

So we lost power at 3PM yesterday. Our infrastructure sucks here. Luckily our generator went on and power was restored at 8:15PM. BUT it ruined a lot of our neighbor's thanksgiving. Half cooked turkeys etc. I feel bad for them but living here one does need a generator. JCP&L sucks. And that is putting it mildly lol

I set my alarm overnight for a black friday sale at midnight and was able to snag a purchase for 50% off!!! Totally worth losing sleep over lol. Usually I would not do that (interrupt my sleep for a purchase) but I could not pass this up and knew it would go fast. But I had a lot of trouble getting back to sleep and this morning I am very groggy indeed.

Yesterday I got a lot accomplished but not nearly as much as I had hoped to. Today is another freezing windy day but dry. We plan on hiking but I am having trouble getting motivated. TOO COLD for me. Even though the house is warm my body knows it's cold out there and does not want to get moving lol

What a relief that the kitties are ok @missy. Oy to losing power, thank goodness for the generator, it must’ve been awful for those people stuck with half cooked food. You’d have thought with regular outages, they’d be better prepared. What did you need to buy that you got up in the middle of the night ? BTW, I saw an advert for heated quilted jackets today, on. Amazon, I think they’re called Venustas.

I haven’t bought anything, absolutely nothing I need.

Cold here today, but warmed up this afternoon enough for us to go out for a walk. We did the food shop today, and I keep thinking it’s Thursday.

@Austina yes I do not understand all the people here (who can afford a generator) who have not yet purchased a generator. There is no excuse. We lose power on a regular basis (maybe that is a slight exaggeration but that is how it feels). It was alternative hair. So expensive and by waking at midnight I saved a thousand dollars so for me it was worth it. I did make up for it last night as we slept til 550AM which for us is late lol. It is super cold here today (28F right now). Hope you enjoy a beautiful day no matter what you do. We have not yet decided what we are doing...likely hiking

Bloody cold here, -19C when I got up. Yikes. Our high today was -8C but I don't see it reaching that. Supposed to warm up with + temps early in the week. Had to go across town to do my CPR recert--and it was done quickly and efficiently. The group I belong to is fantastic, making a otherwise painful task, not. I ended up going to check out my favorite jeweller then get chicken take out. LOL. I didn't buy anything at the jewellers--I don't need a thing! Although the 6.50 ctw tennis bracelet was gorgeous!!!

UGH just lost my long message about Arcteryx!! Anyway, top notch brand--hope it is to your satisfaction.

I have 6 Arcteryx cycling jackets. Blue, Gray, Black, Red, another grey and another blue. They get a lot of use. Though now in this weather (30s F) we are not cycling. TOO cold for me. Sigh. Hello everyone else! Hope you are having a lovely weekend. I am nervous. Tomorrow is radiation day one. I want to back out but won't because this is my only hope to slow Dupuytren's. It might not work but I have to try

We went hiking yesterday and yes I was apprehensive due to falling last Friday but TG it went without incident. We went to a new (to us) state park to hike yesterday with so many great trails. I love it and we are heading back there today.



















I saw this swing and could not resist. Who doesn't love a good swing? Too bad it was too short for my legs...I guess it was meant for kids. But I still managed to have fun

@missy I hope you are feeling better. Falling is so scary. I loved all your jewelry pictures. I enjoyed all of your great photos. Glad you are getting out in the cold for rides and hikes. We’re cold and WINDY here. Sweet you snagged a 50% off deal even if you lost sleep over it. How awful to lose power on Thanksgiving. Like you said, that probably ruined a lot of dinners. Good luck with your first radiation treatment.

@Austina that is a deal on trees. We have to plant at least 8 trees within a year of a certain size. The little seedlings we’ve planted keep getting eaten by local wildlife. Darn the weather cooled off for you. It was 5 when we woke up this morning.

@MamaBee nice you have a ring coming.

My M&M casserole was popular. I enjoyed my lasagna and a few potatoes and a dinner roll on Thanksgiving. Carb central. Then enjoyed cheesecake and homemade ice cream. Strange I had a food hangover on Friday.

They did come do the roof on Tuesday - an entire day early. Marty worked on his observatory on Thursday until we went to lunch, then during daylight on Friday and Saturday. He even went back Friday night since now he has lights in the observatory. He took his first picture Friday night. There is still a ton of detail things to do and tweak, but he has both scopes on their piers.

I was busy yesterday but got a lot of things done. I’m working too many hours to do other things I need to do. I was lazy today. I’ve been working on using my computer mouse with my left hand so that’ll help my right hand. I am ABOUT ready to make a doctor appointment. Shocking.

@marcy glad the m&m casserole (and lasagna and cheesecake OMG YUMMMMMM) was a hit and gorgeous photo. Yay the roofers got there a day early wooohooo. Better than a day late. Oy so sorry about your hand and I think it is a good decision seeing a specialist about this. Sending you many well wishes and thank you for my well wishes. I'm nervous. As I said to Greg if it was one visit it wouldn't be so bad. But 20 visits of radiation.... That's a lot. Fingers (hahaha) crossed it works for me. Have a marvelous Monday

Hello everyone else. Hope you enjoyed a lovely weekend.
We went hiking on a more challenging trail at the same state park we went to Saturday. My new favorite. And I had a marathon zoom with my girlfriends last night. NIRDI shout out!!!!! Hope everyone had a lovely TG.

Our weather has changed--thank goodness! It was -16C the last few days and today I woke up to -13C but it is +3C now. And gorgeous sunshine. I went out for a walk to the big park--should have taken my wallet....could have had some ice cream. Or a latte. Supposed to be decent most of the week. I have a busy week with parties and lunches--tis the season! Am going to Tiffany tomorrow with my pal who wants to upgrade her diamond ER. Should be fun!

@missy lovely photos as usual. Hope your treatment work. Are you expecting snow? Eastern Canada got walloped .

@marcy glad the roofers finally came. I like my one shift a week, it is enough. I would pick up 4 hours extra here and there if needed.

@Austina I hear you on not needing anything. But I do want some fillers in my face, so I will see my Specialist about it when I go for my medical Botox in the New Year. My has aged in the last year.

@MamaBee it is an unspoken rule that if you buy jewellery--you MUST POST pictures!!!! Spill!!!! LOL Hope you are better.
