Hello lovelies

Well, we made it through another week!!!!

Same old, same old here, although our visors arrived today, so we’re all set for when we do actually go out again.

Talking of PPE, do you remember me mentioning that Adam had ordered masks for Kim’s sister? He ordered them on the 1st April, they arrived in Ca on 5th April (from China), and have taken 25 DAYS from Ca to be out for delivery in Oklahoma today!! That’s unbelievable, and may explain some of the ridiculous delays in getting PPE.

I’m sorry your niece is going to miss out on all the rewards of her hard work @missy, she sounds like a sweet and sensible girl, and hopefully will be able to celebrate properly when all this is over. I hope and pray that things will start to change there soon, and you too will see a flattening of the curve, which is giving us hope. Yum to getting more ice cream, I like vanilla, but not pistachio, II’m not really a nut person Cats and kids both love boxes, I remember one Christmas Adam spent more time playing with the boxes than he did the contents

I hope Pumpkin is doing better @TechieTechie and you get the doggie door fitted this weekend to make things easier.

Hope the gym reopening went well @marcy.

We had a delivery of fruit and veg today, another lovely box, this one had potatoes, onions, peppers, cauliflower, hispy cabbage, celeriac, mushrooms, carrots, apples, oranges, grapes, gem lettuces, cucumber, carrots, bananas, broccoli, bread and eggs.

@missy Yep boxes seem to be a thing for cats. Have you tried the circle trick. Put something circular on the floor/circle of string and most cats are somehow compelled to sit in the circle!

So good news, my project is with the CAD desiger and he has checked measurements with me. It's a good start! What do you think?

Had a nice ride today--little windy but I layered well. Went to the market--I always rush through and forget half of what I need. Getting groceries is exhausting! Well mentally anyway.

Thanks for the well wished for my DS; he feels a lot better now the excruciating pain is gone; he'll go for stage two next week. Hopefully this is the final chapter on this.

We could use some rain here, things are looking brown. I'm sure it will come soon enough; we can get snow every month of the year!

@missy sorry for niece is missing out on the fun stuff. And sorry your sister is stressed. I hope she stays well. Challenging times is an understatement.

@Austina I heard the Queen promoted that 100 year old Captain who raised all that money for the hospitals. Very cool. Definitely get out your emeralds and enjoy wearing them. I only wore mine one day but love that color. I have a tsavorite garnet that is that nice bright green too. That is great the curve has been flattened and they might start lifting restrictions there. We started opening some things yesterday. What kind of visors did you get? I have been looking at face shields. Yay for another delivery. Your flowers are gorgeous.

@Niffler75 we had a little bit of rain too. We would probably get creamed if we were partners playing Pictionary. Good idea to thin out your jewelry. Your cad looks great.

@TechieTechie Taters and Tacos are a great combo - I love me some potato oles (Taco Johns). I hope the doggy door helps you get a good night’s sleep. You should get a tsavorite garnet; same kelly green color but a harder gemstone.

Marty had some of his clients show up and lift. He was happy.

Work was interesting yesterday. One of my employees wants to transfer back to Arizona but there is a hiring freeze with our company now so she wants to work for us there. She started last fall and I consider her a mediocre employee, she isn’t fully trained on things yet so my boss and I feel she needs to quit. The senior manager wants to think about it though because we won’t be able to replace her. I can’t say I trust her to keep busy from afar.

Work fun part 2 is one of my employees didn’t read an update correctly, made a change that was wrong for the next day and didn’t have anyone check him. Luckily another employee found it before it went out with a whole 75 minutes to spare.

We were at Sam’s Club when they opened today. They were crazy busy. I was delighted to find a big pack of Quilted Northern TP. I picked up more tissues and paper towels. I was excited to find a 10 pound bag of Gold Medal Flour. We got some hamburger, chicken, pork chops, tenderloin roasts and steaks. We are stocked up for a while now. I’d say more than half the customers had masks on; all the store employees had them on. We even scored some disinfecting wipes (store brand) I resisted looking if they were made in China.

Marty told 2 of his clients he’d fill their wiper fluid reservoirs in their cars. The came in the house and the one girl walked right over to me to show me her cat scratches. I wanted to yell get the hell away from me. Now they are in her visiting and touching things. #beatheadonchairnow

Marty got himself a giant tomahawk steak to grill for lunch. I have a small center cut ribeye for me.

I made a slow cooker bolognese and double batch banana bread. Tomorrow I'm thinking about tuna noodle casserole and freeze them for easy weeknight dinners.
I slept 12 hours last night. It's pretty much my usual on the weekend. The work week wipes me out big time. Hubby washed the cars today and I did the inside.

Fine weather is drawing everyone out. We rode to a small market that has great ham and while waiting to get in (heavily choregraphed) the lady ahead of me turned and told me something: her Mother is across the country in hospital with Covid and is failing....she started to cry. Big tears rolling down her face; I was utterly heartbroken. I tried to console her but felt useless. I could not hug her. Or just touch her arm. Wow.

@Niffler75 those photos were from last year, our garden is slowing coming to life again, the rhododendron is blooming, the camellia is glorious and the bluebells are rampant, but that’s about it for now. I really like the CAD and think your ring will be spectacular.

Unfortunately, I’ve heard several stories like that @canuk-gal, it’s so desperately sad, and maddening when you see idiots protesting against the lock downs, they just don’t seem to understand how serious and deadly this virus is.

Sounds you like got a great haul at Sams @marcy, and you’ll be stocked up for quite a while now. We got the full face clear visors with the elastic that goes round your head and the foam ‘bumper’ to cushion it. I don’t care if people think we look stupid, when we start going out, I’d rather be safe. Isn’t Captain Tom wonderful, he’s raised over 30 Million!

Wasn’t the weather beautiful yesterday @missy, we went out in the afternoon, masked up and went on a long walk to blow the cobwebs away. We did see other people and ended up crossing the road several times, but we kept up a brisk pace and realised how sluggish we’ve become. It was a walk we did regularly with Dottie, but we were shattered when we got home. The trees look lovely there, and must cheer you up when you’re dealing with all this. Yay to getting in another good walk today. I meant to ask how Greg’s knee is, does he feel almost back to normal yet?

Our Govt are talking about potential changes to the lock down next week, but it seems the vast majority of people aren’t that keen to go out yet. I don’t know if any of you have read that Drs are recommending having a pulse ox meter. It seems that a lot of people haven’t realised how ill they were because unlike ‘normal’ pneumonia, this type doesn’t necessarily cause breathlessness until the lungs are severely damaged. Checking your pulse ox rate every day is a good way to ensure that you’re OK, and also if your pulse ox levels fall below 96 regularly, then you should seek help.

We got a nice surprise this morning, about 10am our garden centre delivery turned up! They were supposed to be delivering on Wednesday, they didn’t tell us it was coming today, but we’ve spent 3 hours emptying the posts, refilling with fresh compost and planting them up. I’ve got a whole tray of bizzy lizzies left, but after our garden waste bins are emptied on Tuesday, then we can plant them up In other areas.

I saw a lovely Art Deco old cut brooch on an auction site here, I’ve bought from these people before, so although I won’t be able to see the item, I trust their description is accurate. I’ve asked for the dimensions of the brooch, as well as what metal it is. Hopefully, I’ll hear back and if it’s what I want, I’m going to bid on it with a view to turning it in to a bracelet or bangle. I’ll ask David Klass for a quote to see if it’s viable, and of course, I have no idea when I’ll be able to get it done, but I’m getting excited at the prospect.

Darn that your dad’s birthday present was a few days late but that makes his birthday last longer. I think Omaha Steaks is getting slammed with orders because all of our orders have been slower than normal. Woo hoo Greg and his team’s ranking was really good; we all knew Greg ROCKED!!!

@Austina I was checking webcams on my Earthcams app and looked at Abby Lane and saw it was very wet and raining. I totally get preferring to see those bangles in person at Whiteflash. Heck I am dying to go there myself maybe we can time it up. I have nieces in Houston we plan on visiting soon as well. One of them works at Johnson Space Center and can give us a private tour. I don’t blame Adam and Kim wanting to get married at city hall and celebrate with a party later. That would be exciting. Oh no to the heated flooring overheating. Can you shut it off; unplug it? Marty can officially open the gym on Friday. Poor guy has to wear a mask. We’ve been resisting and can’t find the real masks that protect you. They are opening gyms, salons, day cares and still restricting gathering of 10 or more people. Of course they have strict social distancing and cleaning requirements. Should be interesting.

Our house cleaner came today. Work was busy. I have a grocery order to pick up between 2 and 3 tomorrow. I have a meeting at 2 and at 3 so hopefully it goes smoothly to pick my stuff up.

I was so excited. I had an email arrive from Whiteflash today. It was just sending me a link to jewelers mutual if I wanted to insure my new jewelry. Such a tease.

We ordered pickup from Olive Garden - I picked their buy one get one offer and since Marty wanted 2 dinners we have 3 entrees for later. Sweet.

I keep shopping rings online since I’m bored and love new bling to ease said boredom.

Oh no, did you loupe it? Could it be cracked? Did you hit it on anything? Did you try just cleaning it to make sure it's not coated with something?

Have tried cleaning, no luck. No loupe here... just panic.. Not hit it on anything that I’m aware of, but I must have done something

Don't panic. Contact the jeweler who made the setting for you and ask him to please evaluate it. If he isn't open right now when he does open. Call him or email him if you cannot get in touch with him by phone to let him know. I am sorry and whatever it is I am sure it is easily remediated and the jeweler will make it right for you. You recently got the new setting so I am sure he will stand by it if the stone is cracked. (((Hugs))).
