Now I really did it :((

@missy hello Missy the marvelous, the magnificent and the mindful of others.. :) Jeez Greg has one heck of a history with these stones :(

Your pictures are beautiful, talked with Chris around 5:00 est and he said it was chilly in Brooklyn today, we had a cold front comes thru here also.. BUT Maine and CT got snow! that is so bizarre.

Missy seeing Brooklyn thru your lens is something to behold.. so much beauty about.. and your shoes! great picture!

Missy are you going to the beach for the summer? seems like you just finally got home! but it must be glorious at your house there.. the waves.. how comforting.. if I didn't love you I'd be jealous (j/k) xoxoxoxoxo :)

@AV_ Hi AV, what grand and gorgeous pictures you take also.. beautiful.. hope your friend is okay. xoxo

@marcy Hi Marcy, have you been called back into your office? my older son was but then they called him and told him to continue to work at home due to no daycare open yet.. Chris won't go back till mid September the CEO told them all on an all hands meeting online.. How's your husband and his business doing? how's your shoulder.. I have to get a new one and I really really really don't want to do it, but then again I'd love to get a few hours of continuous, pain-free sleep. I hope you all are doing well Marcy. xoxo

@Scandinavian ha! what a pix girl.. the cake and pups are divine and you, of course, are a stunning woman.. where's your necklace? if you aren't using it send it to me! xoxoxo

@Niffler75 Hi NIffler how's the boy? I want to chime in and second @Mamabean 's statement about the pictures you posted for mrs-b.. it's as though the NIRDI's are all professional photographers!

@Mamabean what a lovely picture of your DIL.. I hope the baby comes early! I hated being pregnant, I felt possessed by an alien both times :) with a huge red face with pimples, and ankles bigger than footballs.. I love it when women say "Oh I LOVED BEING PREGNANT" ugh, I hated it, I couldn't wait to give birth :) (2 C's in my case).. I spent 9 mos being sick to my stomach with Christopher.. God I couldn't stand smells, I took a circuitous route at work to avoid the coffee area because it make me very very sick.. all I did was throw up the whole time.. Mike was better except that tastes were off and my feet looked like balloons.. I was never a good pregnant woman. :) Cant wait for a pix of your new grandson (back of head of course).. so so exciting! xoxoxo mamabean your gazebo is lovely, I love the new roof! great job by your handyman.

@junebug17 Hi June! how's your family and you? I'll read thru again but I think you are up north? sending love to you June. xoxox

@canuk-gal Hi Sharon, so glad your son is almost through with the root canal.. he's a trooper for sure. xoxoxox

@Slick1 Greetings, you all got snow also in NY? My BIL is up near Corning and he got a lot of snow.. take care.. you, another photographer! your pix are always perfect Slick. xoxoxo

@Daisys and Diamonds Hi how are you? how's your husband and your family? xoxoxo

@Calliecake sending hugs and love your way Callie! how's the nieces? xoxoxo

@Austina Hi Austina, sounds like a great gardening and chatting with friends day for you! So Adam hasn't had the CV-19 virus.. I suppose you are glad but since we are opened up here it's a worry too I suppose, but Mike goes out to shop etc.. they are young - our sons - but we always worry.. hi to Colin.. We have B/P monitor and an oximeter and our drugs all in a row now :) us retired people, we are prepared! xoxoxo

so here are the first pictures of our future house way back, this is actually hand drawn by the architect but you can sort of get an idea of the house.. I have to copy and modify the architects pix because we signed a contract that we could only (our ideas and thoughts brought to life by the architect) use this plan once and it is owned by the architect and if it get's out we get sued by the architect. its bizarre. We are still waiting on the second pool guys estimate, I suppose we will be waiting till the end of time at this rate..

house2ps.jpg

ps house pix.jpg

Sorry I'm not about as much as I used to be - we are often in calls and all the BS about the house, we spend at least 2 hours a day on phone calls with our sons :) which is nice :) love to you all..

I just posted this in another thread. I wanted to say thank you to MakingtheGrade and other physicians and health care workers. It is a touching video that makes me cry. Some of you may have already seen this video from Voices Rock Canada. If I have already posted here before please forgive my foggy brain (lol).

Thank you for sharing this. It is beautiful. Hugs to you and happy Mother's Day! XOXO.

@missy that's the saddest thing ive read all day about being weary of your friend's hubby because he's a hugger,
what kind of dreadful world have we all woken up to
maybe its just a long horrible communial nightmare

i am going to have to get PS on my laptop so i can write those gorgeous replies the rest of you do, but with my spelling by the time i scoull down on my phone to my new post ive forgotten how to spell every body

best wishes to all
non contact long distance hugs

I know, it is sad. LOL but not about him being a hugger but more about him being a rebel refusing to follow "rules" in general. That was why I was concerned lol. Anyway I told C we would take a raincheck and good thing I did. It took us 2 hours to unpack and organize and we aren't even done. Oy we had a lot of stuff we bought here the past 3 times Greg came to drop stuff off. Lots of things.

Hugs and happy Mother's Day Nicky!

Hugs and Happy Mother's Day Great Kate @Tekate !!!!

We are here at the beach for the foreseeable future. Maybe through all of 2020. We are unsure and just taking it day by day. It's nice to be here now that we are here. But what a lot of stuff we had to bring due to the pandemic. But we are here and now the real work begins. Greg has many hours of work to make the bike road ready. He estimates about 50 hours of work before we can take it out. And we still have not done what we wanted to do here in the winter/spring because then the pandemic hit after Greg's knee surgery so there was simply no time. It's OK. One day at a time.

Thank you for your lovely words. Yes it was chilly yesterday and today too so far. Tell Chris and Katie and everyone I say hey and wish them a wonderful day.

Love your plans and I am so excited for you to see this house and land come to fruition. Hugs and love and happy Mom's day to an amazing mom in every way. XOXOXO.

Well today i have been sanding and painting a balustrade that is original to out house as it needs a bit of TLC. I have done some gardening and we have watched a family film.
Not sure what our plans are for tomorrow but will be able to get out for a longer walk as the weather will be cooler.
My ring for my lab ruby should hopefully be cast next week.
Here is a picture of a sunbathing butterfly from our garden! =)2

You have accomplished a lot. Sanding and painting and gardening and watching a lovely film too. Putting me to shame lol. Happy Mom's Day! And ooh cannot wait to see your ring. Lovely photo. I adore butterflies but not a fan of caterpillars. LOL what can I say. We are here for the foreseeable future. The original plan was through 2020 but nothing is written in stone. So we shall see what the future brings and adjust our plans accordingly. Hugs and have a wonderful Sunday. XOXO.

Everything is fine here. My dd's boyfriend is anxious to see his parents so he went for a test before he visits them. they are doing outdoor tests in Hoboken and are including people who are symptom free. He got his test result while he was there, took 20 minutes and he was negative. DD got nervous and didn't get one. They both did the antibody test and are waiting on the results.

Not much else new...everyone is good and I'm trying to stay busy. Some days I do more than others lol. Sending good thoughts to all!

Glad all is well. Happy Mother's Day Junie! I am glad your DD's boyfriend tested negative and glad they are both getting antibody testing. I totally understand your DD not wanting to get the rapid test done. The antibody test should be sufficient. I hear you re some days are easier than others to stay busy. We had a good trip here but hectic for sure. So much to take and unpack and organize. I took a raincheck with my friend and glad I did. We had no time yesterday to meet with her so it worked out. Hugs and have a wonderful Mother's Day Sunday. XOXO.

It was nice sleeping here last night but I woke up before 4AM and that was it. Oh well. It is a lovely crisp cool day here so hoping we can take a walk on the beach if it seems safe enough. Greg has lots to do on the bike. He has to rebuild the wheels and change the drive chain and put on the new canopy and take it apart etc before it is road ready since we did over 9K miles last year. So it will be some time before we can go cycling.

This is Gracie's first time here so she was a bit skittish yesterday but seems to be adjusting OK.

The house has a lot of work we need to do. Lots of boxes and still unpacking left. I am so unmotivated. LOL.

Hello to @Slick1 HAPPY Mother's day dear friend. I know this is a bittersweet day for you. (((HUGS))).

@bling_dream19 happy Mother's day to your mom and you. Hugs. Happy Funday Sunday. XOXO.

@AV_ happy Sunday and hope all is well and happy Mom's Day to all your mother figures and you. Hugs.

@Scandinavian happy Mom's day dear Scandi. You are a wonderful furry baby and human mom and DD and granddaughter too. XOXO.

@Mamabean love that photo. Happy Mother's Day and hugs!

@marcy hugs to you and a happy Mom's Day. You are a great mom to your furry babies. Killer bunnies and huggable teddies and all. XOXO.

@canuk-gal happy Mother's Day to you and your sisters and your mom. Hope you get to cycle today or do something else you love. Hugs.

@Austina I know it is belated but wishing you a lovely Mother's Day Sunday. Hugs and love to you.

@Keeliamira hope you are well and having a happy Mother's Day. XOXO.

Have a lovely day girls. Signing off for now. From the beach.

Good to hear! Nothing like the sea.

Oddly, it is cool here too - 15ºC feels chilly after a couple of days of 30ºC, so a backyard firepit will be even more fun.

From your writing about the bike I deduce that Greg's knee is healing perfectly - so there can be tens of thousands of miles of biking in your very near future?

Fingers crossed for everything!

Thank you @AV_ and yes nothing like the sea. I am listening to the waves crash now and seeng the birds float in the water and it is a lovely scene. And now they are playing the Star Spangled Banner (and it is late as they usually play it at 8AM and it is 8:20AM now...strange) at the air force base (not too far away) so it is nice being here. As for tens of thousands of miles no sadly no more crazy miles. Because of my OP I need to focus more on weight bearing exercise and cycling is negative for bones as it has no weight bearing whatsoever so we will cycle modest amounts this year and I will concentrate on more walking and elliptical. Not as much fun but if I do it all in moderation it should still be lovely. Thank you as always for all your good wishes and sending you many good wishes too. Hugs and have a wonderful day!

Hi NIRDI’s! Happy Mother’s Day!

@bling_dream19 I took my stuffed puppy to Marty’s gym yesterday. Yes, I am easily entertained. Dinner sounds great but cheesecake got my attention. Mmm.

@Scandinavian thank you - if the senior center like my letter I will make up some more. I think top 10 lists and maybe assorted fun facts would work great. We can grow carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and squash here and it helps if you start them inside early. You can get some corn before the first freeze. Garden fresh is the best. Mmm cheesecake.

@Daisys and Diamonds I am glad you saw the full moon, it was the last super moon for 2020. Funny story about seeing different constellations; when I was teaching I had my students turn in at least 3 observations a month of stars and constellations. There was a website at the time that had a weekly “here is what you can see tonight” and one of my students was copying it for their assignment. I even mentioned to him that his observations sure seemed to line up with that website but he continued using it. Funny thing is one month they switched to what you can see from the southern hemisphere. He turned some of those in and got a F on the assignment; when he asked why I asked him where he observed and he said north of town to which I said well unless you were in Australia you wouldn’t have seen those stars. He didn’t turn in his observations for the last month of class.

@AV_ I hated to write my letter expecting a response so hopefully this works well for them. Making up fun facts, info and humorous pages is something I enjoy. When I was teaching I’d use a silly joke every week to which most students “groaned” at them but most of my students brought me more jokes to us.

@Austina I am so glad you enjoyed being outside. Sweet. I was trying to include something to think about or trigger some pleasant memories in my letter. I have come up with more ideas so will probably do more. I am going to send this on to the retirement home where we hold our astronomy meetings (whenever they open up again). I am sure going for a ride was nice and yes it’s a good thing you and Colin get along well spending so much time together. We get along well too; although last night when Marty was eating a bowl of plain yogurt and nutty granola I left the room - that crunching drives me BONKERS. I took a drive yesterday as well; it was nice. What is service is Bletchley Circle on; that sounds really interesting. Mmm Adam’s favorite cheesecake sounds delicious.

@missy that is so sad about that man dying. I am sorry. Nice to be at the beach house, I thought that about Gracie being new to the beach house. Glad she is better today. LOL it looks like she might be planning her escape route if necessary. Sorry Greg has so much work to do on the bike but that way it will be in great shape when you can take it for a ride. How cool about the VE parade. Marty would say the teddy bear is a better driver than me. Thank you; I think I’ll work up a few more letters for the senior citizens. Darn that your mothers present won’t arrive for your mother until tomorrow. I am pretty sure my MIL’s card won’t arrive until tomorrow as well. I get the concern about catching up with friends; glad it worked out you were busy unpacking - rain checks are always good. Sweet we’ll be seeing beach pictures again.

@junebug17 that’s nice you have your own pool in SC and have access to the beach for walks and of course a great view. LOL to rotating rings to keep from buying a new one; I think I’m cracking today. My excuse is we need to put something on our credit card so they don’t cancel it like I can’t use it for food and gas. Ha Ha. I hope my friend’s son is okay too; he went and got a haircut Friday though. I hope some of our company’s plans help DH work on his opening policies. I know my company is cleaning multiple times a day as well and anyone working from home who has an office they cleaned the office then put do not cross tape over the door so they know it’s still clean. Thank you, I hope my letter is enjoyed. Glad to hear all of you are doing well.

@Niffler75 that is too bad you are a very accurate barometer. Sounds like you are keeping busy.

@Daisys and Diamonds my best friend told me I am a natural at social distancing - I am not a hugger, I don’t like to shake hands, I don’t like people touching me or my things and I have to really like you to readily agree to all of the above.

@Tekate so far we don’t have a date to return to the office. That is nice Mike can continue to work from home. Day cares are open here with restrictions of course. I am not surprised Chris will work from home until September. Marty’s gym is doing well; he got 2 new clients this week. My shoulder is slightly better; I don’t blame you for not wanting your shoulder surgery but it will be nice when you aren’t in pain. I am doing well and hope you are the same. The drawings of your house look great.

Hi @Poodles4me @Slick1 and @Mamabean.

Okay ladies I’m making cheesecake SOON.

Laundry is done. For now. Marty was lonely at the gym yesterday so the puppy and I went to visit him. I decided to take the interstate around the city to go home (yes so I could go fast) only to find road construction had the highway blocked down to one lane and a 45 mph sign. Rats.

We ordered takeout food for lunch yesterday and today. I am so excited to hear restaurants might open to limited capacities next weekend.

Marty got our sprinklers going even though it’s chilly today. He said he’ll get the drip system working later; we won’t plant our flower pots for several more weeks yet.

Take care.
Marcy

I LOVE the multi sapphire and peach but if I had to choose its peach sapphire all day long! They are gorgeous @marcy And I'm excited for you.

Hi sparkly friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday Funday!
@missy That picture is gorgeous! I'm soo glad you all are at the beach. It will be a lot of work but it will be well worth it. And so sorry to hear the owner of your wedding venue passed. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the the beach. Hugs to you dear. And that picture is just gorgeous! And if you can't bike to icecream you can always drive there
@marcy I'm easily entertained too! It doesn't take much to get me laughing. That's really cute you and teddy visited Marty to keep him company. And I think a bling purchase is a great way to let the cc company know you are alive and well!
@Tekate your house looks great and it's so exciting to pick everything out I'm sure. That's so great you spend so much time on the phone with your kids.
@Austina how are you doing girl? Exciting you're getting a freezer! I need one lol. Have you decided on your bracelet yet? I really want a tennis bracelet set in hearts like cflutist. It's on my dream list.
@junebug17 thanks for the sweet dinner compliment! My hubby said last week that he's really impressed with all of the meals I am making. He said its better than restaurants. It was really sweet. I hope you're enjoying walks on the beach and wearing your beautiful bling. I'm still wearing my bling in my pajamas for dinner lol  I wear lounge clothes during the day, shower and put on dinner pjs and either the same jewelry or new.
@Niffler75 I hope you're feeling well and having a great day!
Hi AV, Scandi, poodles4me, daisy, and everyone else!
Oh and here's the cheesecake...its delicious we just had a piece after lunch. Its chocolate chip cheesecake! 752538

I LOVE the multi sapphire and peach but if I had to choose its peach sapphire all day long! They are gorgeous @marcy And I'm excited for you.

What are you leaning towards Marcy?

HI:

Shout out NIRDIs!

@missy how ironic you had such a mild winter, warm temps early spring only for it (now) to be chilly! And how the heck did Gracie get up top the clock? Looks very high! Hope your unpacking is uneventful. Moving is always a lot of work!

Happy Mothers Day to all! Such strange times, we cannot see our families in traditional ways!

cheers--Sharon

@marcy I vote peach sapphire here too. The colour just stands out as being very unique!

@bling_dream19 and @Niffler75 I have liked that peach halo since I saw it online but think I should see it in person. Further explanation below. I really have been enjoying bands as RHR rings lately.

@bling_dream19 I totally laughed that a bling purchase is a good way to let the cc know I'm alive. If I'm not buying jewelry every few months they probably think something is wrong. That is a very sweet compliment from your DH; you are fixing delicious meals and your cheesecake looks very tasty.

Hi @canuk-gal

I wish I could see these rings in person but since the store is in Denver I'm not expecting to go anytime soon. I am leaning towards the ruby band on the left. I don't have a peach sapphire yet but I usually find them too pale. I have a cognac sapphire that looks peach in some light. Also on the halo ring I generally like to pick out loose sapphires and put them in a semi mount. Loose stones can be upgraded for $1 more; pre-mounted jewelry can be traded in towards double what you paid for it. I am intrigued by the second ruby band but they are small and bezel set so they would probably be like my Danielle sapphire / diamond band and only show well from behind or light directly overhead. The left band would have 3.5mm rubies. The multi color sapphires would be great if well saturated; not so much if they are pale. Like I told Marty if I don't like what I get I can always return it or have a nice deposit on my next purchase.

@marcy Nice weights! & the hunt for a peach color sapphire sounds happy; I must have seen a few here or there, since these flower shades always turn my head.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

@AV_ I love the pictures of your route to the store.

@missy So happy you are back at the beach house.

Hi and hugs to everyone else--gotta go to work now.

GM lovely ladies and happy Monday from the Jersey Shore.

@missy That picture is gorgeous! I'm soo glad you all are at the beach. It will be a lot of work but it will be well worth it. And so sorry to hear the owner of your wedding venue passed. Oh and here's the cheesecake...its delicious we just had a piece after lunch. Its chocolate chip cheesecake!

GM lovely lady! Wow that cheesecake looks so YUMMMMMMMMY. Swoon to the cheesecake. Chocolate chiplicious.
We had a great day yesterday. Walked on the beach and in our neighborhood and removed our masks when we realized it was relatively empty here. Whew. What a difference walking without a mask. We walked about 7 miles and it was a gorgeous day. Hit the high 60s F with a bright sun. Thank you for your lovely comments and I hope you enjoyed a wonderful day too. Hugs to you and your family. XOXO.

@springerspaniel (((Hugs))) to you. Hope you enjoyed a wonderful weekend and a happy Mother's Day. I hope work is going well for you and life is treating you sweetly. Sending you big hugs and lots of love and I hope you feel the virtual good vibes I continue to send your way. XOXO. Have a good day at work!

Good morning @AV_ hope your weekend was good and all is well by you. XOXO.

Yes crazy weather. Yesterday was lovely and much milder than I thought it was going to be. And it was amazing because we took a long walk with no masks! It was easy (even on a Sunday in May!) to social distance as there were very few people around. We walked on the beach (with masks because we didn't realize at that time) and then in our neighborhood without masks and it was so lovely to be mask free and feel safe. I hope it remains not crowded here as when they open the beaches it might not be as nice. But we shall see. I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day Sharon. (((HUGS))).

@Tekate Great Kate, happy Mother's Day to you dear friend. I hope Autie, Mike, Chris, Katie and everyone is well and that you all got to chat yesterday. Sending you big hugs and much love and looking forward to hearing good news from you re the build and the future plans. (((Hugs))).

Bling vote - which one do you like. 2 left ones are ruby / diamond accent bands, the next band is multi sapphire diamond accents and the halo is a peach sapphire.

1589129411993.png

The ruby bands are my favorites but they are all pretty. If I had to choose just one I like the one on the left and the ruby band next to it is my second favorite. For some reason the peach doesn't do it for me. The peach color is muted and I prefer bright and bold for my colored gems. And the multi sapphire band is pretty but too busy for my aesthetic. Of course there is no right or wrong and it comes down to your preferences entirely.

Laundry is done. For now. Marty was lonely at the gym yesterday so the puppy and I went to visit him. I decided to take the interstate around the city to go home (yes so I could go fast) only to find road construction had the highway blocked down to one lane and a 45 mph sign. Rats.

Yay for laundry being done and now that we are at the beach house I can do laundry every day if I want to. Hopefully Marty won't be lonely this week at his gym. Sunday is a day of rest after all for many. Yay for takeout food and yes it is exciting things are getting back to a bit more normal by you. I think our sprinklers were turned on last month but not sure. It is good being back and we are settling in. Rats indeed to highway construction. It seems that construction is alive and well all over NY and NJ too. Pandemic doesn't slow those things down very much.

LOL I could use some pointers from your stuffed animals Marcy. ;-)

I wish I could see these rings in person but since the store is in Denver I'm not expecting to go anytime soon. I am leaning towards the ruby band on the left. Like I told Marty if I don't like what I get I can always return it or have a nice deposit on my next purchase.

I agree with your observations here. I definitely think the ruby bands are rubylicious and the peach sapphire a bit too washed out for my preference.

Hope you had a good Sunday and sending you bear (haha) hugs and lots of love Marcy.
What are your plans for this week?

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies today! ❤

How was your Mother's Day Joanne? Hugs and love and hope all is going well. XOXO.

@Slick1 hope you and your gorgeous family enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day. Hugs to you all and hope Chase is continuing to do well. XOXO.

@Scandinavian good morning lovely. You will see more beach pics from me indeed. And I always love your photos too. Hope your weekend went well and that your Monday is off to a good start. Hugs.

@Austina hope you had a lovely weekend. What are your plans this week? XOXO

@junebug17 hope you enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day and are enjoying the sand and sea and all the good things the beach has to offer. XOXO.

We enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday despite not being with my family. The weather hit the high 60s F and there was a bright sun all day. The beach and neighborhood were relatively empty so we got to enjoy a nice long walk most of it without the masks. Once we realized we could easily keep away from people we removed our masks. And it was freeing. Not sure we will be able to always walk without one here especially once the summer goes into full swing but we will exercise good judgment of course and reevaluate each walk. I only took a few pics because I was giddy with excitement just being free to walk unencumbered.

See how empty it was?

Leaving you with a pic of a 9/11 Memorial we found during our walk yesterday. Somehow we never noticed it before. All the flags here are at half mast due to the pandemic.

@missy I hope you don't mind me saying but I feel better your being at the beach house. Just the fact that you were able to out for a walk and take your masks off must have been amazing!
I am waiting hearing back from the casters about my ring.
is Gracie settling in any better? How are you feeling in yourself?

this spell of not weather here has reminded me we are heading for summer, and while most people I am sure are looking forward to this, summer for me can be a nightmare due to his my body reacts.

I'm off to see if I can get onto the GIA course I signed up for. Will be back later! :mrgreen2:
