Now I really did it :((

Hi NIRDI’s!

@junebug17 that is nice you are painting again. It sounds relaxing. I am glad to hear you are enjoying your new ring. It sounds like you had a relaxing weekend. Have a nice time in South Carolina.

@missy I have faith in you and Greg knocking out many more miles this year. I felt fine this morning. I am sure it was just a food hangover. I am eating way better today. I hope your zoom call went well and good luck with the doctor tomorrow. Mmm vanilla. Sounds delicious! It sure seems like places either get tons of rain or nothing.

@Austina wow your place got captured for a map program pretty quickly, or was that your old house? I bet it will be a while before my tooth settles down. It seems like that spot is a magnet too, any food that wanders left drifts right towards it. It’s not really painful, but more like uncomfortable or achy. I am super easy on that area when I brush my teeth. I can’t believe what my laptop cost, but I am DETERMINDED I’ll use it forever! I watched a video last night on that configuration and he said - it’s probably overkill for most people. But he also said, if you can afford it, why not? He said his motto was, “Buy it nice, or buy it twice”. I’m cheap though. I hate spending that much money. Yeah, your pool permit was approved. My boss lives in Austin and she said it’s pouring there this afternoon. See if your pool was built, the rain could fill it for you. Wishful thinking. Ha Ha.

@canuk-gal I hope you are having nice weather. We are in the 80’s and still not rain.

Marty is thrilled. He got a summons for jury duty.

I got to work on fun articles today. I lifted and plan on goofing off tonight.

My laptop is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Take care.
Marcy

Probably at least 3-4 months I think @canuk-gal. We’ve got a meeting with the pool people tomorrow to discuss the inevitable increase in price because of all the delays

That’s our new house @marcy, we were surprised how quickly Google updated their maps after it was finished. We were saying the same thing about the pool and all the rain, looks like we’re in for a week of it, so hopefully it’ll really ease the drought situation here.

Wow, @Austina - I am impressed. We were the first house over about 6 x 4 city blocks area and it took about 6 months before we showed up. Of course, larger cities probably get more passes for new images. I hope your drought gets eased. We sure need rain here.

Hello lovelies

Had a surprise today, and not a nice one. The pool price has increased substantially, so we’ve decided to cut back on some things. The outdoor kitchen/bbq is out, as is the planter along the house. It’s still more than we wanted to pay, but hey ho, we’re finally going to be getting started soon.

Hope all the lovely NIRDIs are doing well :wavey:

GM girls! Happy Wonderful Wednesday!

@Austina woohoo to the pool permit being approved...but aww I am sorry to hear about the costs rising astronomically. Everything is getting crazy expensive. Our friends who live at the shore just sold their house for a price I cannot believe. I mean wow. People want to live where they want to live and I guess will pay anything they have to. Same for all the luxuries too. It's mind boggling and makes me think money isn't worth much these days if you kwim. I hope everything gets done and that prices go back to some semblance of normal at least.

@marcy glad you feel much better. And thanks for the vote of confidence. I cannot control the weather but we do the best we can and that is the best we can do. How's that for wisdom haha. Ooh how exciting your laptop will arrive today. Cannot wait for you to get it and love using it.

@canuk-gal we have been cycling our hearts out and hope to continue today despite 90F degree temps.
Hope you are getting in everything you love doing too.

@bling_dream19 happy hump day and hope your week is going well.

@Slickk thinking of you and hoping you are enjoying each day to the max.

Hi everyone else. We had a good cycling day after my doctor's appointment and hope we can enjoy today too despite the heat which is back. There's always more ice cream right? Hahaha. Wishing you all a very sweet and satisfying day. XOXO

Sweet deer are everywhere and it breaks my heart. We have taken their land. :(
Look at this baby.

She looks lost. I am so upset.

Leaving you on a sweet note though as I know we all have enough sadness and stress in our lives. May today be a sweet day.

Oh and I have been wearing my new earrings! Yesterday to the doctor's office and the day before running errands. I LOVE them!

Selfie in the car running errands this past rainy Monday (but we didn't get much rain at all unfortunately...less than 0.10 inches so still drought situation)

and yesterday (drizzling a bit in the early AM) going to my doctor's office.

I adore the blue of these sapphires and the blinding bling of the white diamonds.

Thanks for looking and enjoy a bluetiful day!

Hello lovelies

Wow @missy, the earrings look even better on. They really are a knockout colour, and perfect size. So glad you’re enjoying wearing them. The little deer is absolutely beautiful, we’ve got lots of evidence of deer in the garden, although we haven’t actually seen them.

We’ve agreed on a price we’re willing to pay, more than we wanted to, but that’s what it costs. It should still look great, and we cut back on a couple of things that really won’t impact the pool at all. We’re not having the auto fill, it’s simple enough to put the hose in to top up when necessary, and we’re also not having the automatic cleaner. The guy said they go wrong more often than the manual one, and when they do, they’re expensive to fix. That’s not actually any cheaper to buy, but should be less expensive maintenance wise in the long run. We’ve also changed the shears, instead of 3 smaller ones, we’re having a 4’ one, which is the same price as each of the single ones. We’ve also made the deck wider. They may even be able to come next week to start marking out.

We went to Costco today, it was reasonably quiet as was the traffic. No sign of the fence people, we were forecast rain, but it didn’t materialise, they could have finished it if they’d turned up. :roll2:

Hope all the lovely NIRDIs are doing well :wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

@Austina that stinks the price for the pool went up so much. Prices are getting crazy. Sounds like you are finding a few ways to cut expenses on the pool. Nice to go out to Costco and it wasn’t busy.

@missy yes prices are getting crazy and I know it’s a good time to sell houses, problem is then you have to buy something else at a crazy price. I know you and Greg will give my car mileage some competition. I’ll try to stay home and help you out. LOL. I am quite impressed with my laptop so far. Glad you got to ride even thought it was so hot. Your earrings looks gorgeous. That color of blue is perfect for sapphires and the halo makes the sapphire pop. I can see why you are enjoying them.

I didn’t have much work to do today so only put in about 90 minutes. My laptop didn’t show up until about 2 pm but I had it up and running in a few hours. It wanted to download new software right away and that took longer than anything else. It is amazingly fast, so I am quite impressed so far. The keyboard is very different than the one on the MacBook Air but I am used to it already. I opened up one of my articles from work and opened the many links, everything was pretty must instant. I opened the activity monitor and it was barely taking up much of my memory. It was showing that it was using 14 gb memory which explains why my 9 gb memory before was a bit overwhelmed. I have everything working so far except logging in to our Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. Marty doesn’t have his login in our password keeper.

I did get another keycode for the Office software I bought. I got it downloaded and installed as well. Yay.

Take care.
Marcy

Hi NIRDI's!

What? I'm the first one to post today? I hope all NIRDI's are well and happy!

I gave my new laptop a good test run today. It performed GREAT. The activity monitor barely registers any activity usage. I lifted this afternoon then since it was cloudy, ran over to the park to get a better picture of that bridge with flowers around it. Sadly, I didn't check what lens was on the camera and have the telephoto on it, but I got a few pictures I liked. You'd think with the lifiting I do, I wouldn't mind packing out my entire camera bag, but I tend to just grab the camera and go.

I am meeting Marty for supper when he's done at the gym. I'm hungry already too.

Take care.

Hello lovelies

Great photo @marcy, so crisp and clear. Yum to going out to eat with Marty, any day when you don’t have to cook is a good day. :lickout:

We did the food shopping today and the fencers turned up and cracked on with putting in the remaining posts along the back, and then started welding the fence panels in. They‘ve done the r/h side and should finish up the bottom and l/h side tomorrow.

Not much else going on here, hope all the lovely NIRDIs are doing well.

:wavey:

Hi @marcy and @Austina and everyone sorry I didn’t post this morning. I’ll post tomorrow but leave you with our ice cream these past two days. Hope you’re all enjoying a sweet week.

@marcy I love your photo. Gorgeous. Wrong lens or not. Hope you’re enjoying a delicious dinner with Marty.

@Austina yay glad the workers showed up. And good for getting errands done.

See you tomorrow ❤️

Backstory of the extra cup…Jimmy made the strawberry for me as the season’s over but he told me he’ll always have strawberry for me lol. So they have a tub of strawberry reserved for me. Yesterday it was just made so soft hence the separate cup. Can’t complain about their wonderful service or their delicious product. Yummmm

Sweet dreams girls. XOXO

GM girls, it's happy FriYAY!

@bling_dream19 I hope you are looking forward to a great weekend.

@Slickk big hugs to Bear and hope the family's well and you have fun weekend plans.

@MamaBee how is everything going? Any updates? I am hoping good news.

@canuk-gal hope you are enjoying a lovely weather week.

@Austina I sent Greg to run our errands yesterday late afternoon after his dental appointment. I am grateful he is more than happy to run the errands when I am too tired to join him.

@marcy thank you for your bluelicious enthusiasm for my new earrings. I love them more than I thought I would.
Hope you take more park photos to share with us. And woohoo so happy you love your new laptop. I love apple products I have to admit but was so resistant to getting them as I knew it would be addictive. And I was right lol.

@rainwood thank you for loving my new earrings and you are right. They are my style lol. I have eclectic taste. Antique, modern and some in between. I am going to donate to the charity you were telling me about. I discussed it with Greg and if it's too late now we will definitely donate next August. Thank you for telling me about it. It is more than a worthwhile charity.

Hi everyone else. Hope all is well.
We have had a lovely week of cycling and it was all a gift as initially rain was predicted for much of this week. Of course we need rain desperately so I do hope it rains soon and is enough rain to sustain us. The poor animals are having trouble getting water and while we put water out for the wildlife and feral cats most do not. So let it rain. You wont hear me saying that often lol. But yes, let it rain.

Speaking of wildlife here are a few photos of some of our animal friends who we got to see these past two days.

Screen Shot 2022-08-26 at 6.11.15 AM.png

She saw us and called her friends over

Screen Shot 2022-08-26 at 6.11.03 AM.png

Screen Shot 2022-08-26 at 6.10.49 AM.png

And upsettingly we saw a very skinny fox the other night in our backyard. We rushed out to feed her and she did return but she just circled the food and left. We think it's because she didn't feel safe. Even when starving if an animal doesn't feel safe she won't eat. We went out and bought hamburger (read they like that) and I cut up organic apples as I read they like apples but no luck. Someone did eat the hamburger but it was likely a raccoon, possum or even feral cat. Sigh. I am very worried about her. I called a few wildlife rescues but none would come here. We have no wildlife rescue in our area anymore. It closed during the pandemic and the nearest one is still far away and said they cannot service our area. I am upset and pray she will be OK. She looks like she also has mange on top of starving to death :(

If you could all just say a prayer for her and keep good thoughts for her that she will be OK I would greatly appreciate it. I named her Farrah. Thank you for keeping her in your prayers.

Today is another cycling day but I hope it isn't as hot as the past two days. I think I lost a few lbs just from sweating this past week. My goodness it was hot. Summer is not done with us. And well I don't mind it. I will take this over the freezing cold. Which will be here soon enough.

Wishing everyone a sweet FriYAY with joy and peace. XOXO

Hi NIRDI’s!

@Austina that will be great to have your fence finished. Nice to get grocery shopping done. I was going to do that today, but never ventured out other than to meet Marty for breakfast.

@missy nice to have a bucket of strawberry ice cream just for you. It looks delicious. I can see why you love your gorgeous blue earrings. They remind of my pink sapphire dangles in halos - so I wore them yesterday. Thanks! I agree on Apple products. When I got my first Air, I was kind of lost for a few days and would have probably returned it if we had a local Apple store. Once I got it figured out, I never looked back. I had to use Windows at my recent job and sure hated it. Nice that Greg ran errands yesterday. Marty is too busy anymore other than Saturday and part of Sunday. I guess, I do have more time though. Oh that poor fox, I wonder if it’s sick? Mega dust to it. Love the photos of the deer.

@Austina if you were facing east you might have seen Mars. Jupiter is due south about then. Both are pretty bright right now.

I got up to hopefully catch Venus near a skinny crescent moon. I did see the moon briefly and Venus a few times but clouds covered them up quickly. I did enjoy a lovely sunrise though.

I met Marty for breakfast the worked for several hours. I grilled some burgers for us for lunch. A friend stopped by with some giant cookies (and I ate too many of them) and to play cards.

Have a great weekend.
Marcy

GM girls! Happy Caturday Saturday!

@marcy wow, gorgeous sunrise. Yes I imagine Marty is super busy but glad you can run the errands when he cannot. It is super nice of them to make a flavor just for me. Not sure for how much longer they can get in organic strawberries but for as long as it lasts yummm. I am glad you wore your sapphire dangles. I love dangles as you might remember and only started wearing studs during the pandemic as they work more easily with masks. I'm exclusively only wearing masks that go over the head for a better and tighter fit so the studs are safer in terms of potential losing one. I agree Apple technology is way more intuitive to use than windows. I don't know about the fox. My sister keeps telling me she is a wild animal and not to worry but we all know wild animals can die if they are sick and/or cannot get enough nutrition to sustain them. It's a cruel world and my heart can't help but ache for the helpless animals out there preyed upon by man. :( Anyway sorry about being downer. I hope you have a terrific Saturday.

@bling_dream19 happy Caturday Saturday sweet friend.

@Slickk have a wonderful weekend.

@springerspaniel I hope you got some time away from everything and are enjoying your new job, your pups, and a wonderful summer.

Hi everyone else. We had a good ride yesterday despite the intense heat. Oh my goodness. Today might be cooler and it will be a welcome relief from the 90s F temps. Leaving you with a wildlife photo. No shortage of that here lol. Enjoy a terrific day. XOXO

Happy Saturday! We drove in to Maryland last night..
@missy No news on the house front. The area we are looking at rarely has houses come on the market. The realtor said that a lot of them never make it to market. The realtors have clients waiting for a house to come up. We have to be prepared to swoop in and buy asking or most likely above price because there will be competing offers. My son lives near the area and confirms this is true. In the meantime we just wait.
I love your sapphire earrings. That blue is so pretty..especially surrounded by the diamonds.
That poor fox does look like he has mange..It’s so sad that he wouldn’t eat the hamburger or apples even though he’s hungry.
I love the deer photos. We have a lot of deer in our backyard in Pa. People go crazy because they eat their plants. We don't have flowers there for that reason because the tops are eaten so it’s not worth having them. They love to eat our groundcover and hostas. That’s fine with us. We really enjoy seeing them especially the newborn babies.
I knot the very ends of my kn95 masks to make an extremely tight fit. Doctors have commented on what a tight fit I’m able to achieve. The boys have rounder faces so theirs fit tightly too..I actually have a deep mark on my face when I take the mask off. We are still wearing them in all the stores, etc. We are definitely the minority. I never get weird looks from people not wearing them though..
How are you doing? I know you‘ve been to doctor visits recently.
My pulse has been running very low due to a Beta Blocker. My former doctor prescribed it when my blood pressure spiked during my mom’s fall, rehab, etc. I normally have high blood pressure but it spiked to dangerous levels. The one she chose is an older one..Atenolol..which has nasty side effects..When my pulse was 49..not being an athlete or avid exerciser..which would be normal…I said enough is enough…I want off. The only problem is I didn’t have a doctor because mine left the practice. I had a reassignment to another doctor in the practice. The earliest appointment was the end of October. I was able to finagle a way to get an appointment online by putting in that I was a new patient. Basically I would be a new patient..so I got the appointment without talking to the scheduler. They found me out though the day before..haha Fortunately they let me keep the appointment. I’m happy with my new doctor. She’s super smart, and thorough..but not much of a personality. I would rather have those two then a friendly personality. She’s all business. What I liked about her was her willingness to listen to me and being open to things I would like to try. I’m stopping the BB tonight after cutting the pill in half last night. I read that you shouldn’t stop the BB abruptly but I’m trusting her judgement. I started taking another pill that’s a different class..I will be able to eat potassium rich foods again which I’m so thrilled with. I’m dying to eat a banana..
@Austina Thats great news you are able to move forward with the pool. It’s a shame that because of the delay the prices went up..The things you decided to leave out won’t make any difference. We had a pool in Texas..We used a hose to fill up the pool..It wasn’t a big deal. Our fire department near us in Pa had a sign outside last year that said they do pool fill ups. It just struck me funny..
You seem to be getting everything in place for your house. I never realized that when you build a house they still have to come back to finish things up. I realize the fence would be something you would have to do yourselves.
I loved the photo of you and Kate @Tekate! It sounds like you had a great time..How long did it take you to get to Kate’s house?
@Tekate Autie got so tall! She’s so adorable! It must be wonderful to live near your son and family. I’m looking forward to that happening if we can find a house!
Hi to everyone else. I have to get David ready to kayak with his dad.
Hugs to everyone..

Hello lovelies, happy SaturYay!

I thought I was seeing the planets @marcy, but maybe they were just bright stars  I could see them out of the high bathroom windows so I think that’s south to south/west facing. Yum to giant cookies. Adam had a lovely g/f who worked in a cookie shop on Saturdays. At close of business, anything left was given to the staff, so we always had a plentiful supply.

So glad you got an appt sooner than October @MamaBee. Colin is on a very low dosage beta blocker, he has to cut the tablet in half as they don’t do that low a dosage here in a pill. I’m reading that the housing market is stating to stabilise after the madness of the last couple of years, so hopefully you’ll be able to find something soon. The deer are having their fill here! They don’t like aromatic plants, so the lavenders are doing well, but a lot of my plants at the front are constantly getting chewed up by them. Now the back is fenced, hopefully anything we plant there will be safe.

That poor fox @missy, it definitely looks mangy. Nature can be very cruel at times. Hopefully she’ll find food to keep her going. Glad you’re able to get out and enjoy your rides and the beautiful scenery and wildlife you see on your travels. 90 degs sounds quite bearable to me now  Yum to all the lovely ice cream, you’re certainly working off the calories and deserve the treat.

They finished the fencing yesterday, and it’s making the garden look more of a manageable project now.

No plans for the weekend, other than our neighbours are coming round to look at our pool plans, as they want a pool too.

Have a great weekend lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!

It is thunder-storming here now, so no cycling. I suppose we could have gone out this AM--it was nice out but my DH wanted to go for brunch instead. So chicken & waffles and scrambled eggs won out. So much food--for two meals!! But yummy.

We were silly not to ride yesterday as it was gorgeous out but did some shopping together--which is rare. I guess we could have saved the pillow shopping for a rainy afternoon like today. I will pick up my completed emerald ring on Sept. 10th.

@MamaBee hope you find the house you want. Timing is everything. How is your DH finding retirement? I had a very difficult time when my DH decided to retire. Too much of nothing to do--although he still does special projects when asked. Glad I have my job.
@missy funny we haven't seen a lot of deer this year. I know they are out and about but I miss them running across the property and street. I adore your new earrings! That photo of the little fox made me sad.
@Austina good your fencing is done. Gives you some perspective for sure.
@marcy lovely sunset!

Keep safe & well folks.

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy thank you. The colors were amazing at sunrise yesterday. I like all earrings but you never can see them under my hair. We know our pretty sparkly earrings are there though. Yes, dangles do catch on masks. I always checked when I put on a mask or took it off just in case. That is so sweet of them to make you the organic strawberry ice cream. Wild animals do tend to know how to take care of themselves, I would think there would be plenty of food around there but I’m only guessing. It is a cruel world in many ways and a wonderful world in many ways as well. You are sure getting to see a lot of deer. Sweet!

@MamaBee every time I see your three stone EC avatar, you give me ideas. Must resist new jewelry. . . Oh no, I hate to hear about your pulse. I hope your new doctor works out well for you. That same thing happened to me when a substitute PA doubled my dosage of my Beta Blocker - it was in the low 50’s a lot and I was sure tired and more cold than normal. The doctor put me back on my regular dose. I guess I’d rather have a good doctor than a sociable one, but both is better. Hope the house sells quickly and you find the perfect place.

@Austina I would bet you saw Saturn and Jupiter. They are both in the south to southeast then and the brightest stars in that area of sky. Mars is quite bright then too, but would be in the east around then. That is nice to have cookies brought home from work. One of my nephews worked at Panera for a while and he got to bring home fresh bread that was left from the day. That’s great your fence is finished.

@canuk-gal darn the rain showed up before you got to go out. I must try chicken and waffles sometime. I love them both. I can’t wait to see your emerald ring.

I slept in until 7 am today. What a treat. We went out for breakfast and then did some work when I got home. This afternoon we went out to eat a late lunch / early supper and I found a ding on my car door as we were leaving the restaurant. Grr. The pickup parked by me was crooked and very close to my door. I noticed it right away. I was going to take pictures of everything and their plates, but it would be my word against them anyway. JERK!!!

We picked up a much of assorted meat at Sam’s Club on the way home so Marty can grill it all up and have some things for lunch and late supper. I’ll have my choice of things he grills tomorrow. Ha!

I have a lovely text from my boss. She thanked me for my work and gave me a $2 an hour raise effective this month and a $500 bonus. I was kind of stunned. A very unexpected and pleasant surprise. The bonus was deposited already. Wow! This part time job is really turning out well for me, and it’s something I really enjoy!

I thought Marty was going to rent Maverick for us to watch but so far he has on an old WWII movie. It’s good, but I wanted to see the new movie.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! Happy (how did you get here so fast) Monday!

@marcy yes I find wearing them with my hair in a ponytail or hair half back is the way to go for earrings. Otherwise they are hidden. Luckily (really no choice) I wear my hair either half back or in a ponytail all the time. Woohoo for sleeping til 7AM this weekend. Sweet. Grr to finding a ding on your car door. That is not sweet. Wow that is wonderful about your new boss appreciating all your hard work and giving you a raise and a bonus. And that you enjoy this work. Cannot get better than that Marcy and I am not surprised in the least. You go girl! Proud of you.

@canuk-gal aww sorry the weather changed but there will be more days for riding. We cannot always ride when the weather is nice so that is what I tell myself. It's nice you got to enjoy brunch out with your dh. Ooh so excited for you and getting your emerald ring in less than 2 weeks. Woohoo.

@bling_dream19 swooning over your mom's new ring. What a lovely anniversary present. And what a milestone anniversary.

@Slickk hope you had a wonderful weekend.

@springerspaniel our tree is doing well. I cannot believe we are practically in autumn though.

@mrs-b hope all is going well. Thinking of you.

@Austina hope you enjoyed a relaxing weekend.

Hi everyone else. We went cycling both days of this weekend and it was lovely. And surprisingly we saw another fox in the park. Wow. She was pretty and less skinny and looked healthy. I took video but then she started staring at me making me nervous lol. Greg's like don't worry she won't attack you because I was like what if she has rabies. I mean they are wild animals and we were very close. Anyway she is a beauty for sure.

Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 6.54.20 AM.png

Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 6.53.56 AM.png

Look at her gorgeous tail!

And we saw so many deer again. This time some bucks too!

@MamaBee this photo is for you.

Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 6.55.01 AM.png

We actually saw 3 bucks together but that photo didn't come out great.

Anyway that was our weekend. Heading out cycling today and it's a bit warmer. Yesterday was a nice respite from the heat. Have a marvelous Monday girls. Big hugs and lots of love.

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy those deers are watching for you and Greg now. That fox does look pretty healthy. My parents had a cabin in the mountains. A couple lived there full time and had several foxes that would come up on their porch and eat treats or leftovers that the couple put out for them. They were still wild but got so they weren't nervous around them anyway. Good deal you added more miles on your bike this weekend.

I worked about seven hours today. Then lifted and just goofed off tonight. I did venture out and get this picture of a very skinny crescent moon.

Take care.
Marcy

Crescent moon.jpg

GM girls! Happy terrific Tuesday!

@marcy oh I love a skinny crescent moon. What a great photo. Wow to working seven hours yesterday. And then you lifted. Wow. I have to "lift" in the AM or I am just too tired to do it later. I did weights too yesterday but in the morning before our cycling. Speaking of miles we hit 5500 miles yesterday. Woohoo.
And speaking of deer...
The deer are all over. Look at this sweet girl who stopped by as we were cycling yesterday to say hey.

Screen Shot 2022-08-30 at 6.21.01 AM.png

She's looking at us as if to say good morning, nice to see you again, you got anything for me?
I wish we could feed them but there are signs everywhere saying do not feed the wildlife. I mean, I would chance it if I though she needed food but I think they are doing fine on their own.

Speaking of food here's our ice cream from yesterday...it was melting already but oh so good.

Screen Shot 2022-08-30 at 6.21.16 AM.png

Hahaha Greg just got this photo on the security camera...hot off the presses...how many kitties can you count here?

Screen Shot 2022-08-30 at 6.25.53 AM.png

Answer:
FIVE KITTIES!

Hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday. Be well and enjoy. XOXO

Good luck @mrs-b today. Thinking of you and sending you lots of love and hugs and good vibes. XOXO ♥️

Hello lovelies

Woohoo @marcy, no less than you deserve, and isn’t it great to feel appreciated? Bling money??? Grrr to someone dinging your car, people are so careless. With the size of parking spaces here compared to the UK, getting a ding in your door was more or less to be expected because they were so tight. Sounds like you had a good weekend with eating out and stocking up on meat.

I’d take eating over cycling @canuk-gal  Nice to have extra food to take home. Not long to wait until your ring is ready, can’t wait to see how it’s turned out.

Great shot of the kitties @missy, it seems like there’s no rivalry between the ferals hanging out at your place. Wow, you’re really racking up the miles, and I love seeing all the photos of the deer and other creatures you see along the way. Of course, I love the ice cream photos too, I can enjoy it without the calories  I can’t believe we’re almost in to September either, where on earth has the year gone?

We had a quiet weekend, caught up with our friends on Sunday, and so looking forward to them being here in such a short couple of weeks  My friend is bringing her scissors to give me a decent hair cut, I can’t believe my last cut was the beginning of Aprilo_O

Yesterday was Adam’s b’day, we were originally going to meet up for lunch, but the cleaning crew were there, so we went over for dinner instead. We had to wait for the irrigation people to come today to see if any of the sprinklers could be saved when the pool starts - short answer NO. The the fence guy came to check the work had been done properly and collect his money. After that, we went to the garden pot place, and the pots we wanted had 20% off :appl: Good job we waited.

We got 3 different sizes and chose the pool tiles to match these colours.

Colin has an eye test in the morning, that’ll be our thrill of the day

I hope all the lovely NIRDIs are safe and well :wavey:

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy those deers must like you and Greg! Mmm ice cream. I had a small Frosty tonight. LOL to count the cats lounging around your house. Woo hoo to 5500 miles. You guys ROCK!!!

@Austina I am with you on the sizes of parking spots. They were built for mini Coopers - I am sure Texas has a many big pickups at Wyoming does - probably more due to the population differences. I usually park at the of places or away from other cars. When Marty parked right in front of the restaurant that day I had a funny feeling about it, I guess I was right. Your pots look great! Nice to find them 20% off, too. Darn you can't save the sprinklers. Happy Birthday to Adam! Dinner sounds fun. That will be nice to get a hair cut.

My day is pretty much a repeat of yesterday. I worked until about 5, ran out to a small farmer's market to get some peaches, picked up a kids hamburger meal for supper and have been catching up my other stuff this evening.

Take care.
Marcy

Hi NIRDI's!

This is eerie - I hope all of the NIRDI's are okay. No posts today.

I slept in longer than normal today but luckily Marty sent me a text to check out the sunrise today. It was quite pretty.

I worked about 7 hours today including having fun updating pictures in birthstone posts. We had a meeting this afternoon, but other than that, I was working. I started watching For All Mankind on Apple TV+. It is pretty good and it's interesting to see the different reality.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! Happy terrific Thursday!

@marcy yesterday got away from me sorry, What a gorgeous photo. Breathtaking.
Glad work went well and that show sounds interesting. I will check it out.
We had a good cycling day but work is getting busy for Greg and despite the Labor day weekend he has a late afternoon conference call Friday lol. I remember during 9/11 he stayed at the NYC office and worked an entire day. Yup. I was in disbelief they didn't send everyone home.

And all I can do is SMH reading about California and their electricity issue and gas car ban. Ludicrous doesn't begin to describe this situation. And I trust my dh who is in the environmental field and well, I wont go into it, but lots of this is due to big egos and little brains. 'Nuff said.

@Austina oh how nice your friends are visiting in a couple of weeks. And haha my last haircut was 13 months ago and that's not even the longest time I ever had between haircuts. I wish I could get it cut actually but I am concerned about Covid and wearing masks during the cut works for Greg but my local hairdresser here (who I only saw once but I really like him) is very old and I don't think he would do a good job with a mask on...so I wait until things feel safer to me. But I need a haircut desperately. Yes the ferals get along well and seem to love each other. I find them grooming one another and it is so sweet. And yesterday Gracie was quite interested in what Fresca was doing lol.

Love the flower pots you chose Austina. Beautiful. Hope your week is continuing to go smoothly.
And send my best to Adam and Kim. It's so wonderful you are close by and can see them whenever you want.

@mrs-b I hope you are feeling much better today and your test results are as good as possible. You are in my thoughts.

@Slickk good morning, have a lovely day.

@bling_dream19 hope things are continuing to move in a good direction. Thinking of you.

Hi everyone else, hope all is well.
Today I have an appointment with the liver alpha specialist in the city and it will take the better part of the day so no cycling today. I doubt we will get anything accomplished there since she will probably give me a script for a number of tests that I will have to schedule appointments for... nothing happens fast and that is OK. One day at a time.

Leaving you with a couple of photos depicting our past two days.
Hope everyone has a terrific Thursday,

We can get so close and they aren't scared of us...as long as we maintain a bit of distance.

May your day be as sweet as you are...big hugs and lots of love.

@Austina very nice pots!!
@mrs-b hope you are feeling well. Is your back surgery still scheduled?
@marcy don't work TOO hard

@Slickk are you looking forward to getting back to class??

Hello lovelies

It’s actually dark in the mornings now @canuk-gal, which doesn’t help when I’m awake at 3-4 am! Glad you were able to get out and ride in good weather. Were you tempted by the bracelet - money being no object? Not long to wait now for your lovely emerald.

I watched For All Mankind when it first came out @marcy, I can’t remember much about it now, but I think I enjoyed it  Wow, 7 hours, that’s full time, not semi retirement! Great sunrise photo, I find it strange that it’s light here in the morning but I can still see the sun rising.

I hope your appt went well today @missy, I hate to hear that you don’t really get anything definitive from them. Glad you had a couple of good days riding, it‘s been ‘cooler’ here, still hot, but not ridiculously hot. We’ve had a couple of busy days, we went to Colin’s eye appt, and he‘s got the beginnings of cataracts. He needs new glasses, his prescription has actually changed quite a lot since his last eye test, so he’s ordered prescription sunglasses and a non tinted pair. He’s gone for single prescription lenses this time, as he always has to take off his varifocals to read, and he doesn’t find the transition lenses react quickly enough. From there we went to Home Depot, got some plants and soil and I planted up the pots in the afternoon. Phew, it was really hot and sticky work.

We did the shopping this morning, and had to make another stop at Home Depot to get some more soil, some edging pavers, bug spray and grass killer, because it’s taking over some of the flower beds and it’s really hard to dig out. We’ve been out in the garden pottering again this afternoon.

How on earth can it be Friday again tomorrow?

I hope all the lovely NIRDIs are doing well, take care

HI:

@Austina if MWNO and I was looking for a gold bracelet, I'd likely opt for the hardware. I'm drawn to links--always have been. What is interesting (or to me) is how the focus is on gold jewellery. I've been shopping Tiffany for decades, and forever their up front cases were always DIAMOND jewellery and engagement rings. Gold somewhere in the back....now up front are buckets and buckets of gold jewellery. I could be wrong but I think the obliquity/success of the Cartier Love bangle has influenced many brands and hence not only for new lines but the updating of old favs. Where I once bought Tiffany silver jewellery, my mind seems to be focused on gold. Who knew? :saint: :P2

cheers--Sharon
