snlee, hooray for sleep training! Hope things are still going well. I can only imagine how difficult it must be. My friend (who was the one from whom I learned about HSHHC) did it with her kids and it took about 4 days too. That seems to be around how long it takes if you stick with it and are consistent. That''s no consolation for nights 2 and 3 though, I am sure!! D is SO adorable! I was looking for a post the other day and saw his first pic with the bear. My goodness, how he has grown!

iluv, that is just hysterical. Love your stories. I guess kids only get funnier and funnier eh? Cause mine cracks me up now and she really isn''t even that amusing!

janine, hang in there gal! Re: stroller. You both will get used to it...they really start enjoying checking out their surroundings!

Linda, thanks suppa granny! I can''t believe a year ago, I was on Pricescope blogging about my water breaking. Has it really been a year? Gadzooks!!!

Bobo, yay for little B sneaking food into his mouth. He probably thinks he is doing something wrong, lol.

Burk, we''re just going out to dinner tomorrow night. My friends are all "upset" that I am not doing a big traditional Korean first birthday party for her (it''s called a "tol"). My longtime (american) friend called me a couple of days ago and asked me if I was doing anything. I simply said "no." After a brief pause, she said, "You''re a BAD MOM." LOL. Could only be said by a very close and longtime friend.

I''m hoping Amelia does the same when she goes to a one nap schedule. She goes down at 6:45 these days but will sleep until 7am most mornings. When we go to one nap, her bedtime gets moved up again. It''s been delayed because on a two nap schedule, there is no way she will go down in 2.5 hours if she wakes up at 3:30, which hasnt been unusual lately as her morning nap gets shorter and afternoon nap gets longer. When does Tayva take her one nap again?

Tgal~I think dinner is great. We didn''t go crazy for T''s one year because she won''t even remember it. It was more for our family.
16.gif
T is actually still taking two naps. She takes a 45 min(ish) nap around 10 and then goes down again around 2. Her afternoon nap is anywhere from 1-2 hours typically. We tried one nap and basically she still napped the same in the afternoon and just missed the morning sleep so she was crabby at 5pm. NOT fun. I know Tessa now takes one nap (at 12 I believe).

Ah, OK, forgot that she took two. Yeah, trying to figure out where that one nap will fall and work best for Amelia. Amelia can stay up for 5 hours at a time and not be overly cranky so it''s hard to get her down now in 3 hours. So far, she looks to be still able to take 2 naps, but I am wondering if I should space it out differently, or start the morning nap later. But since she wakes up often at 6:30, I guess a 9 am nap makes sense. She slept until 10:30 this morning. Might push her afternoon nap out to 1:30 instead of 1.

I''ll work backward as well.

TGal
Haha, another "BAD MOM" here
5.gif

We''ll be going out to eat dimsum and then come back from for cake and snacks.
I''m a bigger flake than you since I don''t even have an outfit for her.
She''ll probably be in your dingy onesie that she wore and stained at daycare.

Yay for A feeding herself

Don''t you just love how they work their little fingers?

"work" their fingers? Ha! I say it''s STILL an "accident". But it is funny. Can''t wait until they actually do funny things, and not because we just think it''s funny because they are our kids, lol.

Where you going for dimsum? Sea Empress? I''ll crash, hahaha.

I don''t have an outfit for her. I am not sure if this will fit. If it doesn''t fit, I am screwed . I have NOTHING. I have to run out and buy a toy for her because I have no presents. And get a cake tomorrow. Ack. What''s everyone buying for their first birthday gift? I have that silver necklace I bought awhile back, plus I might get her one of those vtech laptop thingies that Tacori recommended awhile back.

Pave
Poor T....hope you find the culprit.
FYI, J''s reflux was due to the soymilk that I was drinking.
After I eliminate that from my diet, she hasn''t spit up since.

Bobo
How exciting about the house.
We''d like a tour of it when it closes :P
I hear you on little B trying to run before really walking well.
J was like that. You know a good place to take him? One of those kid''s playground in the mall.
Extremely well padded floor.....can fall all they will and not bruised their knees

J is doing great aside from the pesky runny nose.
Hopefully with the approaching spring season, the cold is a thing of the past.

If T wakes early, she''ll go down for her morning nap around 9 and then her afternoon nap closer to 1. When we tried one nap, it just didn''t become one longer nap so I don''t think she was quite ready. They only do 1 nap at daycare when T moves into the next room (at 18 months) so we''ll have to transition to 1 nap here soon.

LOL! I was afraid of getting spanked!!

You''re not the only one. I think my mom is seriously disappointed in me. I told my mom, "well, you didn''t throw anything for me...the only pic I have is me in a high chair with a cupcake!" She retorted, "We JUST moved to the U.S. We had no friends, otherwise I would have invited them too. And I had as many gifts as we could afford for you!"

Whoops!

lili, we might want to go get some party hats.

Hummmmmmm, I am sure Amelia will ask you why she didn''t have a party too. HA!.. You must take a picture of her grabbing her first piece of cake and shoveling it in her mouth. Those pictures are priceless.

Now go get an outfit, presents, order a cake and a one year old PARTY HAT please!!

HI mommy friends..so, i just got a call that I didn't get the job
7.gif
I was a little surprised because the interview went really well and they did call for references. But, the timing couldn't have been worse b/c if I did get the job I would have needed to start pretty much right away and would not have been able to keep my kids in school for the remainder of the school year. I actually applied weeks ago and never heard anything and assumed I didn't even get an interview so the whole thing was shocking and moved faster than what I would really want. So, we can stay and finish the school year. to be honest, i didn't really want to go back to full time just heading into the summer, i really just want to do part-time so I can spend as much time with my kids as possible while they are off school.

Not much in Jake news..I can't believe our April babies are all about to be one. I'm a bad mommy b/c I don't have anything planned yet for his b-day
40.gif
. I also think he cannot handle milk. his skin breaks out in horrible eczema when he eats the yo baby yogurt. I took him off milk products for a couple of weeks and it cleared up. 2 days ago I gave him the soy baby yogurt which still has whole milk enzymes and he broke out again. other than that he's doing great. He knows how to turn onto his belly and get off the couch or bed by himself which is pretty cute. We're staying with my sister this week and she has stairs and he LOVES climbing them.

tgal- yay for Amelia eating the cheerio's. can you believe that a year ago today you were still preggo and just waiting to meet her?

pave- I'm sorry about t
15.gif

lili- is J just all over the place now that she's walking?

linda- you are too funny!

i'll be back with more in bit!

bobo- good luck at the nutritionist.

I''ll get the hats tonight when I go out to get the presents.

And Linda, it''s quite doubtful she will shovel cake in her mouth. She JUST started eating cheerios on her own and nothing else goes into her mouth. The kid doesn''t care for bananas and apples. WHAT kid doesn''t like fruit? She threw up a piece of grape (tiny piece, so she wouldn''t choke, obviously). Applesauce? No thanks. Freak!!

Aw MrsS, I''m sorry you didn''t get the job. I know things will work out great for you guys though.

Glad to hear Jake is doing well. So are you going to delay regular milk? Must be tough to see the poor thing break out in ezcema.
8.gif
And you can join lili and me in the bad mommy club. I bet Jas has got it all together...she''s probably baked 300 cupcakes already and have been wearing party hats in preparation for DAYS. Hehehehe.

thanks tgal. i really did think if the job/no job as a win/win. And, I'm not worried because there are always openings popping up. I really needed to get a few of my certifications current anyway so I will just keep on that path so I will be even more qualified for the next one. I agree, that things will work out and this way the timing will be better for the kids.

yes, I'm going to have to delay regular milk. he can drink soy and rice milk and doesn't react so I guess I'll give him those. I will find out more when he goes for his 12 month check-up b/c so far the diagnosis is just dr. mom although based on what I've read/researched and his symptoms I'm guessing I'm right. the goodnews is they say most kids outgrow it so hopefully it's not going to be a lifelong allergy.

and so true about Jas12. I know Co is going to have a knock out b-day party.

Tacori
Great find on the flower dress.
Any chance T will model it for us before the wedding? :)
So cute when they start to talk and sing!
So are you capturing all these moments on camera (video)?

"power blaster" LOL.
So is B pretty good with his aim?
That''s the good thing about having a girl.....we don''t need to worry about little splatter

Everything they do at this point is going to be cute

Sorry to hear that James has the rash and is teething.
Hope they resolve themselves soon.

iluvcarats
Haha....this is where the "power blaster" comes from.
Too funny. Your Sam is just a barrel of laughs.
I bet you it''s never a dull moment in your house.

DD
Haha, we''ve all done that.
30 minutes on the mat is way way better than 30 minutes in on the bed with nothing but the blank ceiling to look at.

TGal
Haha, it is at Sea Empress.
Sure, you and A are always welcome.
I have to tell you that there are going to be 30 people there
5.gif

Hehe, I''m in the same boat as you -- no presents, cake, or party hats.
Actually not exactly the same boat since I have one more week to get them together.
Shoot...I should have saved that 1st bday hat from my cousin''s baby''s bday last week
41.gif

As for gifts -- we just have that necklace that you told me about.
Don''t know if I''ll let her wear it since she''ll probably yank it off her neck.
We''ll probably just wrap up those diaper boxes and let her open them to her heart''s content...haha.

Too funny about your mom''s reaction.
My sisters were disappointed too when I said that we''ll just do dimsum.
I feel bad for J being my daughter since I''m not the party planning type -- all her bday will be very low key.

pave, sorry to hear about the blood and mucus in his stool. Hope you figure out what he is react to soon.

TGal, for some reason little B''s slapping is only towards me. He hardly slap DH or other people at my MIL''s house. I have a feeling for some reason little B do it because he know I don''t want him to do it. *sigh* I''m not looking forward to his teenage year.

Since little B always feed himself to stuff other than food to himself so he always get a "no" reaction from us. I guess that is why he is sneaking food now...little B is very opposite from Amelia. He love his fruits, which his weird because both DH and I are not fruit person. He will open his mouth big and wide for fruits but other than that it''s always a struggle to feed him solid.

Can''t believe Amelia is turning 1 soon. I was just reading old post last week and saw your labor and delivery story. time fly~

Thanks Burk, will post little B''s update after his appt tomorrow.

Thanks lili, will take some pictures when the house closes. DH is scare of the kid''s playground in the mall, we took my nephew to the playground in a mall near my mom''s house. My nephew got pushed down from a slide by some other kid. DH is like "we are never taking our kid there"

You and TGal need to go and get J and Amelia birthday hats!!

Thanks MrsS, sorry to hear about the job. Hope new job will come up soon. Little B can''t handle whole milk too. We tried giving him baby yogurt & whole milk. within minutes of him eating milk products his skin around his mouth swell up and turn all red & he will start scratching his ear. Pedi said hold off on the milk products until he is older.

MrsS
I'm sorry you didn't get the job, but sounds like it's for the better anyway.
Glad to hear that Jake is doing well. Sorry to hear about his reaction to whole milk though.
Is his eczema all over or just local to certain part of his body?
I ask because I'm wondering if J's reacting to the dairy that we've been giving her or it's just dry skin for her.
Her eczema is mostly on her legs-- it seems to improve when we slather her with vaseline jelly.

Hehe, it is pretty cute when they slide down backward from a couch or bed
5.gif

Haha, J was all over the place when she was crawling.
But then, it was easy to know where she is since you can hear her slapping the floor as she crawled.
Now she's like a stealth -- she'll be in the next room in one minute and then by my legs the next.

TGal and MrsS
J doesn't like applesauce either.
She luvs her freeze-dried apples though -- same goes for strawberry and blueberries.
I gave her the fresh ones and she couldn't spit them out fast enough.

Hehe, we should have Jas12 take some pictures of her spread for Co's bday and give us a copy.
We'll just include those pictures for J, A and Jake's bday pictures
9.gif

lili- jake breaks out all over his back, legs and arms. weird things is, he can handle cheese just fine but yogurt and milk cause the reaction. nothing I put on his skin helps, it only cleared up when I stopped giving him the yogurt.

Burk, it is NOT what I had in mind but it will do. I agree about spending hundreds on a dress for a little girl. Hope you find the perfect lot. Cute T sings with you. We have funny girls. I love the coat story. She is a smart girl! Tessa is on one nap usually at 12 and in a way it does make life easier.

Bobo, he''s got places to go! Haha.

janine, yay for having help. I am glad your move is finally over. I cannot even imagine it with a small baby.

TGal, what a PITA about your computer. Hope you get it back soon. Yay for feeding herself! Happy early birthday Amelia! Glad you are getting your own hotel room. DH is the fun dad...I am the no mom. It is true about PT. She is FAR from being ready but that''s okay with me. I have never been very pushy when it comes to things (like getting rid of the bottles, still uses pacis, etc). I am sure she will be ready someday. Thanks for the stroller rec. I saw that on my search but got scared by the reviews.

MrsS, sorry you didn''t get the job! Hope he outgrows his dairy allergy soon. Other than that sounds like he is doing great!

Lili, maybe I will have her try it on but I don''t want her to ruin it. Haha. I need to video more. Guess I am part of the "BAD MOM" club!

We (DH and I) are leaving tomorrow!
36.gif
So I won''t be around for awhile. I will miss you ladies. Hope everyone has a great weekend! I expect pictures when I log back in next week!

mrss~sorry about the job! I do believe that everything happens for a reason and a better job is out there for you. Sorry about the milk issues...boy can I relate. Tayva didn''t tollerate it at first so we went back to formula and re-introduced whole milk at 13.5 months and went SLOW (like 2 oz of milk a day to start)! Tayva also could do cheese...but whole milk was a disaster at first.

lili~I''m glad Miss T''s puckered lips make you smile!

bobo~Hope the appt goes well. Look forward to hearing.

Tacori~I''m so excited for you and your DH! I know you''ll have a terrific time! You will be missed.
