PS Mommies Thread!

Hi everyone...
It''s been a long time since I''ve been on PS. I finally got my internet back so here I am checking on everyone.
The babies are all sooooooooooooooooooooo adorable. Last time I was here... geez I think January, and the MOMMIES have their own thread!
Very good idea since the other thread was heavily loaded.
Just a little background since I''m sure most of you are wondering, wait.. was she the one.. who is MOMMABEAR? LOL
I joined PS over a year ago when DH and I were ring shopping. I have a Tacori Ering and center stone from GOG.
I''m a mother of a 2.5 year old boy, Aiden AND a one month old girl, Zoe!

anyway.. I wanted to share a couple of pictures...
1st.. my maternity photos. When I was pregnant with my son, I did not take maternity photos and wish that I had.
So with Zoe, I definitely wanted to have some photos done. With my cousin (a proffessional photographer) poised and ready..

Hi ladies. You continue to delight with all these lovely baby pictures. Mrs Salvo the pics of Jake are adorable. Stephens Bride your little Sabrina looks like a real cutie from your avatar.

Tacori I can understand how upsetting it is when you have to explain your parenting choices to grandparents. I remember freaking out when I found out my MIL gave my son Peanut Butter when he was about 10mths old. I think it is hard for our parents to understand that we have so much more information about their diets and general safety available to us than they did, and we have to act accordingly. I hate being told ''Well we did that and you turned out fine''

TGal I love buggalugs - my parents and grandparents still use that one!

mommmabear...i was wondering the other day how you were when i was reading the pregnant thread with the list of preggos and saw that you were due in June. You went MIA so I hoped everything was ok. the pics are just beautiful and I''m so glad you posted them here for us to see. how sweet that you have a precious little girl now too.

tgal- I usually dress jake in just a onesie or romper too. it''s so hot here and he just sweats up a storm in the carseat. but, for his 3 month photo he wanted to be dressed more fully. I think he''s a good looking guy too. everyone says he''s my hubby''s mini-me. He really looks like his daddy and I don''t see any of me in him at all. it will be fun to see as he grows if that changes at all. Now you and ella have me curious...of to look up your wedding photos....

tacori- that''s just crazy about your MIL and the milk...you didn''t overreact at all. We miss you but are glad you checked in.

lili~Thanks! yep, she''s crazy tall. Seems so "normal" to me until we have her around other babies her age and older and she towers over them!

Tacori~Good to *see* you! I cannot belive your MIL gave T milk! Of all the things. Glad there was no reaction. I can see why you were furious! So cute that she''s feeding herself. Can''t wait to see some new pics! Oh, and how did you like to travel in the jeep? Was it nice having the extra space? How did T do in the car for that long? My T threw an absolute tantrum on our 3 hour drive!

MommaBear~Congrats on the new baby! Your maternity pictures are absolutely beautiful!

T had another good night last night (slept from 7:30-7:45!!!) and pretty good day. Not very good naps, but was happy as can be. She had a giggle-fest with an empty pop bottle tonight. She had me laughing so hard I had tears running down my face. She just thought that pop bottle falling over and me putting it back up was the funniest thing. It''s so crazy that babies typically like non-toys better than the hundreds of toys they have!!

I''m officially done with my first week of work. I think I will really like my job, once I get my department in order. My DH is doing great with the little guy, he is so anti day care that he is watching him while working from home...my MIL is also doing 2 days. And wow! my DH is way better than she is. She didnt even make him nap the other day. Geez, thanks, that means the few hours I had with him he was miserable! Today DH took Ian over there and said he would be home by the time I got home from work. I''ve been home for a half an hour and they just MIL''s. So I guess you could say I have become very territorial with my time with Ian.

Mamabear- you must be nearby if your e-pics were in san pedro...I am in the south bay. Welcome to our mommy board!

Tacori- So are you in WI? have you been to Janesville yet? I didnt read back far enough for your post (i''m lazy and exhausted) but I would be furious with my MIL if she gave Ian milk. That said, the milk wont hurt T. They say no milk before a year mainly because it doesnt benefit them. They dont parents to stop BFing or giving formula because the babies need the additional. So as long as she didnt go days without her BM!!! However, I dont understand how come it is so hard for grandma''s to follow the basics of they can eat this, they cant eat this, they need to nap. seriously!

the baby pics are too cute. I cant believe how cute Ameilia is! I mean look at her mom...but really. She is adorable!

MrsS- Jake is such a little man. Totally adorable. Ian is also a spitting image of his daddy. We are hoping he gets his looks and my sparkling personality!!

Welcome back, MommaBear. The pics are beautiful - you're seriously one hot momma!! I have to say they make me a bit jealous. I took plenty of tummy pics, but never got around to maternity photos like that. Now how about a couple shots of the lil lady and her big bro?

MrsS, thanks very much for your sweet compliments. Even though I wasn''t at my thinnest, I did feel pretty on my wedding day. I can honestly say Amelia has taken away any looks that I had. I got melasma late into my pregnancy and now with it being summer, it''s more pronounced. It''s awful. And BOTH TGuy and I have gained 30 pounds each since that photo. We look at our wedding pic and think...who are those people? We are just an old married couple now and I doubt you''d recognize us if you saw us on the street. It sucks, but at least we have a little girl to show for it.

And isn''t it awful how hot they get in that carseat. I absolutely HATE putting her in it now...she''s just roasting when I take her out.

SS, is buggalugs an Australian thing then? I also call her "bubby" from time to time...but I think Aussies call "baby", "bubby?"

Burk, I tell you...early on, I think toys are a waste. Even later, they just seem to want things that aren''t toys. Water bottles, cups, remote controls, whatever. How cool that Burk giggles...I remember when you posted she had her first ones. I can''t wait until Amelia goes full fledged giggles...right now it just sounds like a squawk.

MsF, congrats on your first week! I totally understand the territorial thing. I''m home all day with Amelia and I still feel a bit territorial over her (although not with sharing her timewise...but in the way in which I do things). However I have long realized that I need to step away and GO away if needed, because if I correct someone in the way the are doing things, they won''t want to do it at all.

You ladies that are BFing are so lucky. Enfamil was $3 off at Costco so I stocked up. $300 on formula.

Made me think...perhaps I should give her milk! Hehehe..just kidding.

I guess she figured she had to start excercising since her grandma keeps saying she''s fat.

I love that picture! And S is fat... perfectly, wonderfully fat! Babies are supposed to look like that, she is beautiful and looks healthy and happy!

PS: Your daugher is gorgeous, and I know she is Chinese-Caucasian, but the way that your features have mixed really remind me of the way that many aboriginal Canadians look! Stunning! She will be a real knock-out.

Aw SB...cute photo. I actually don''t think she''s "fat". That implies she''s overweight to me. She''s just perfect...scrawny babies do not look healthy! (I''m trying to plump up Amelia myself.

My fave pic is your avatar pic though. She is just SOOO cute with her pigtails.

Dreamer - She's only in the 70th percentile for weight. I think she has lots of rolls because she's a shorty. Btw, she's Puertorican-Chinese.

If she looks like aboriginal Canadians, they must be quite the group of stunners.

TGal - I really only mind the way MIL says it. She makes a face like she just smelled a nasty fart and then proceeds to lecture me about # of fat cells being determined in the first year yada yada.

She can really push my buttons.
As for Amelia needing plumping up, I don't know. She looks pretty darn cuddly as it is.

Yeah, her face has filled out a lot in the last couple of weeks, so I think she is OK. I think two weeks ago I was changing her clothes and just noticed her ribs all sticking out and thought...hm...that doesn''t look healthy. She just doesn''t have any real rolls yet. I LOVE rolls!

Your MIL sounds like a charmer.

mrssalvo - thank you for thinking of me! I did go MIA...had so much going on and my hormones were crazy! I took a break from the internet to get my life in order and get ready for baby. But everything went really well. Thanks again!

tacori-my mom and i got into the other day about how to raise my kids... I completely understand your frustrations.

burk-thank you! it was sooo much fun taking them. We also took family pictures while we were doing the maternity pics. I posted some below...

msflutter-my DH is anti daycare as well. He stays home with the kids as much as he can when he has night shifts. I am so nearby!! I live in Torrance! Thanks for the welcome.

dreamer dachsie-thank you! I loved the way i looked pregnant. I was ALL belly. It looked fake and almost like, an attachment that i could just easily remove like a basketball!

tgal-every gal should feel pretty on the big day!! As far as loosing your looks due to pregnancy... isn''t it worth every bit when you see her gummy grin!! Amelia is soo cute~!! Maybe I missed the strand about your not BFing? I''m not either

Yes, my BFing issues are all over the preggo thread. I simply had no milk...one of those rare cases. It just never came in, but I tried and tried and tried for TWO months. Finally I stopped when it was just too small a ratio to formula.

Hopefully your issues weren''t too bad?

Wow, I love the first photo, but this one does show her off better.

She's really beautiful!!!

ETA, I wanna know who took that picture...it's brilliant. Newborns never look like that in photos. They have their eyes closed or look grumpy. Well, at least mine did.

Tacori, sorry to hear your MIL gave Tessa milk, I would be livid too. My sister always make me feel like I''m over reacting on everything when it comes to little B. Same thing with BPA issue too, she said I''m over protective. I told her I will do anything within my power to make sure my baby is healthy and safe.

SB, of course Sabrina is welcome in the video, in fact little B will love to have all you babies in his future video. Dress code is casual, but all parts need to be coverd up
