Thanks!
So when will we see you officially on this thread?

jas, Cohen looks so happy in his stroller, love the pix of your BIL singing to him, looks like he is ready to grab that guitar.

Tacori, can''t wait for the pix.

Burk, we''re hanging there. little B is having a litte cough and running nose. Plus I think he is teething so now he is rufusing to eat & fussing all the time. Getting up 2 ~ 3 times a night screaming. We''re hoping this will go away soon...

Diva, your little guy is so tiny and precious

Thanks Skippy!

I''m went to the drugs store tonight to buy some teething tablet but the pharmacist said there is a lot of negative talk on the teething tablet so it sort of scare me away. I bought some teething ring instead hoping that will help to sooth little B.

Hi gals!

Ahh...a little bit of quiet time before the rellies come at 9:30 and I hit the ground running for the day. Last night they were here until 11 and I was so exhausted. So fun having them around and Amelia is just getting spoiled with all the attention.

But I miss ya gals already!!!

MsF, hope Ian''s diaper rash is better...and I can''t wait to see the pro pics from both you and Burk!

Jas, Amelia has been putting everything in her mouth too. Just another sensory thing they discover and just go crazy, I guess! I clean her hands quite a bit...not because of germs but because she gets these icky bits of I don''t know what form between her fingers. It''s sorta linty and dead skin-y? It''s gross and I don''t want her eating that crap!

No raspberries yet, however. I''ve been showing her how to do them since she was about 6 weeks old, just for grins - knowing full well that once she starts I''ll probably find it amusing for about 10 minutes then wish she''d stop. Hehehe.

Welcome back Tacori! Too funny about the crib...I''m sure I''ll think it''s even funnier when you post the pic. I hope Amelia can stay in her peapod for quite some time!

Burk, I hear ya, but you gotta live your life yanno? We can''t be crazy-nazi-strict about bedtime when sometimes life happens! When my inlaws came in on Sunday, I put Amelia to bed nearly an hour later because we were over at their rental apartment and had dinner out. Amelia was just DYING though...she conked out in the car and barely woke up when I took her out to put her to bed. I don''t know how we are going to survive with the time change in Australia...Amelia is not going to know which way is up!

Diva, James is beautiful and so little. I''m jealous. I''ve the little newborns...my daughter is such a giant monkey now. I love the paci pic, it looks so big on him! And obviously James is beautiful because of his parents.
1.gif

lili, Amelia does a similar thing with the fist, then facerub. I haven''t noticed a rash though. Poor J. And yet with all her fatigue and rashes, she can still look so cute and happy! Oh, and DD is Darling Daughter, I think?

Bobo, glad to hear you are hanging in there. I know any time I could use a cheering up, I can come to this thread and look at your avatar of little B. I just love love love that pic. Do me a favor and don''t change it for at least a few more days! You''ve had a lot of great ones, but this one is going to be hard to top!!

Oh my gosh, I''m loving all the photos of our gorgeous babies!! How can they all be soooo cute?! lili, bobo and TGal, I''m all googly eyed over those photos!!!
30.gif

jas, I absolutely LOVE our Bugaboo. I wish they made a double stroller. We are going to have to break down and buy the Phil and Teds double which I love as well but I reaaallllly am sad that I have to have more than one stroller. We will get the wheeled board that goes on the back of the Bugaboo so when Lily doesn''t want to sit in the stroller, she can ride along on the back of the Bug while the baby''s in the seat. Wish I knew where we were going to store all of these contraptions!
3.gif
Co is so precious--love the photos!

TGal, no advice on nannies but I''m sure you''ve already gotten a lot of info. I would just be sure you have everything in writing, including hours, days off, vacations, etc. And of course, check references! TGuy''s parents must be over the moon for Amelia. Can''t wait to hear the full report!

ellaila, I just got into Facebook recently too. It''s sooo crazy--people just start coming out of the woodwork to "friend" you! I blew off my 20 year HS reunion because I feel like I already caught up with everyone on FB!

Tacori, sounds like a fun and productive trip!! Yay for finding a babysitter--I think that''s pretty cool! Too bad they gave you a crappy crib at the hotel. When we were in PR, they had a super nice crib for Lily and it was full of all kinds of sample size Johnson''s baby products! I hope you will be able to rest with all of this traveling. I''m exhausted for you!!!!

Diva, James is absolutely adorable!!! What a cutie pie. He''s sooo tiny!

Bobo, you should try infant Tylenol for the teething. Once he hits 6 months, Motrin is the best! And also let him chew on a cold wet washcloth. It definitely helps.

As for me, I''m 31 weeks pregnant with a very mellow baby. Lily didn''t move around that much but this one is even less so I hope that says something about her disposition!
2.gif
I really would like another calm baby. Wait, who am I kidding? Lily is so NOT calm these days! She''s RUNNING everywhere and babbling non-stop!!!! She is such a trip, I''m loving this age although there are definitely some tough moments. She''s definitely working on her vocabulary but she really can''t communicate that well yet and I think she gets frustrated very easily. It makes me so sad when I know she''s trying to tell me something but I have no idea what it is and then she has a meltdown. I try to get her to point to things that she wants but when she''s in tantrum mode, there is no rational thinking going on. At least she lets me know when she wants milk or water although they both have the same name in her repertoire which is "muh"! She says book, bird, ball, wawa (that''s her pacifier and I take responsibility for that because it''s what I called my pacifier!), wappool (waffle), daddeeee, mama, lion, hi, bye, thank you and a few other random things. Her voice is just so sweet that even when she''s just having her own unintelligible conversations with herself, I get all sappy! She has her 15 month appointment next week so we''ll see how she''s progressing. We''re having a few sleep issues now and then where she''s waking up literally SCREAMING from fear that we''re not there (I guess) and DH is such a pushover that he just brings her into our bed. It''s usually around 4 or 5 in the morning so I don''t mind having her there for a few hours but I think she knows she''s manipulating him! I think I''m going to have to be a bit more strict with #2. They say your first child is the one you practice on, right?! I''ve definitely learned a lot about myself and my capabilities as a parent so hopefully I can put my "expertise" to good use this time around!

So I have a question for moms of older kids. When do you move them to a toddler bed? Or do you just go straight to a twin bed? Lily''s crib converts but I don''t think she''s ready for it yet but I''m just wondering what the average age is for that to happen. Also, when did your kids start using utensils to feed themselves? She uses her hands and I''ll give her a toddler fork or spoon but she usually just ends up playing with it. I know the expert moms here will give me the real scooop!
1.gif

Diva~He''s so little and precious. I just want to cuddle with him! Do let us know how his apointment goes.

Lili~Should have pics by the end of the week.

Bobo~I agree with Curly-get some Tylenol and/or Motrin. I use Motrin for the night because it lasts longer. Teething is rough, but Tylenol has been a life saver for us! Do you think he''s refusing to eat because of the teething? Have you called your ped? I wonder if Little B has reflux from what you tell us. T is doing absolutely fabulous on Prilosec. Just another thought. Hang in there!

Tgal~Glad you''re having a good time with your family. I''m sure it''s so fun to show Amelia off and I doubt she minds the attention!

Thanks for popping in.

Curly~Just hearing about Lily''s vocabulary makes me smile! I look forward to hearing the older kid mommies answers to your questions.

Burk, it''s really a fun time when they start "getting it". I know Lily understands a heck of a lot more than I could have imagined. I''ll tell her to go get her shoes and she actually does it!! She is totally a little helper too, everything goes in the hamper or the garbage!!! And she likes to flush the toilet and close the dishwasher! She''s also super affectionate these days and very generous with hugs and kisses. You''ll love it when Tayva gets to this point. It is so rewarding as a mother. SInce I know it won''t last forever, I''m trying to make the most of it!!!

Here is the crib!

TGal, I''m glad little B''s pix cheer you up, I will keep this avatar for a while just for you.

Curly, Thanks for the tip, will give that a try.

Burk, we have a appt. with the pedi this afternoon. Hope he will help us figure out what is going on with our little dude.

Tacori, the cribe pix is just too funny. Good thing you bought along the duck tape.

Hey there Mommies! I have a question for you:

Putting aside the start-up costs (somewhere to sleep, clothes, stroller, etc.) what are the day to day running costs, either per week or per month, of your bebe?

We are doing our budget for next year and I was planning on $100/week for our two for diapers, wipes, the odd bit of extra clothing, and eventually food. I have no idea if that''s reasonable though. In fact, I picked that number out of a hat! So I thought I''d better ask you all if that sounds reasonable to you, or what might be a better number. Less? more? That''s $50per wk per kid, fyi.

I kept my kids in their cribs until they were able to get out, or they started trying to get out. Once they are mobile in the morning it''s a whole NEW WORLD!
We used the toddler bed for my daughter, but for my son we went right to a twin bed with a safety rail. I would just keep giving her the utensils - one day it will click. I still have to remind my kids to use their utensils LOL - not to mention a napkin (instead of their sleeve!)
35.gif

Burk, I love using it on highchairs too. We have one of those table topper things too that works great.

Diva, cute pictures! I cannot remember T so little! Enjoy it.

Lili, I am a talker! haha! Like that IRL too. DD=darling daughter.

Curly, TGal, and Bobo, luckily T didn't seem to mind the crib. At least it was clean.

Curly, T was a quiet one too. I would get worried sometimes when she didn't meet her kick count. Guess she was just lazy
3.gif
I can't wait to "meet" your new DD. Any word on the name?

Bobo, I agree baby Tylenol works MUCH better than teething tablets.

ETA: I swear T said "baah" (bye) and waved yesterday. Is that possible?

Okay, here is some more pictures. Here she is looking sneaky. She is holding onto our sofa.

sneaky-girl.jpg

Here she is watching her favorite show...so funny.

Ts-fav-show.jpg

Last, with one of her boyfriends
2.gif
I blacked out his face (obviously). I just thought it was such a cute photo.

T-w-friend.jpg

Tacori, Tessa is darling, look at her sweet face! haha about the boyfriend!
2.gif
Wow, she is standing, yay, Tessa!
36.gif
She will be walking before you know it! What is her favorite show??

Thanks Skip! It was not a staged photo. She pulls herself up. She loves "Yo Gabba Gabba". It is strange but it holds her attention. She talks to the TV, even laughs!

Trouble with a capital T! Too cute! And the TV picture cracked me up, the little robot is almost as big as she is!
9.gif
I''m not showing my DH because he has been bugging me to get a TV like that for ages...

tacori- the pics of Tessa are just the cutest. She''s such a dollbaby and I just can''t believe how big she is.

curly- I moved my oldest into a toddler bed when she was 18 months. the only reason was b/c I needed the crib for my second and didn''t want to purchase a second crib. She actually did fine and didn''t even catch on for a while that she could easily get out at night, although she climbed in and out of it all day long. Night would come though and she stayed put. I left my second in the crib until she was 2 or 1 1/2 and then moved her right to a twin bed.

Indy- I think $100 a week is probably on the high side. If you can find coupons etc. and shop sales you can probably manage on less than that. Ella would be the one to answer your question b/c she has 2. I just hit costco for diapers and the big box of wipes and it was $60. The diapers will last about a month and the wipes will last a longer if you buy in bulk. I''m nursing so no formula to buy yet. If you are planning on buying Ralph Lauren clothes though, then $100 a week won''t be enough
2.gif

Tacori, T is so cute~ love the sneaky look pix.

here is a pix of little B''s new ride.

so the pedi appt went well today. little B is 14lb. 12 oz. 26 inches. The doctor think he is on the skinny side but there is no way we can force feed if he don''t want to eat so not much we can do about that. We also got a go for solid feeding so we''ll try that out sometime this weekend.

little B also has running nose and coughing so the pedi suggest baby tylenol to ease his fussiness.

IMGP0046.jpg

Hehe! I love T''s little shoes Tacori, are they wee moccasins??

Thanks Mrs. Salvo! That's very good news! We are going to be really tight next year financially, since we have to pay rent in two (expensive) places while we're away from the condo I own. So I am definitely not buying them designer clothes. I was thinking more like Old Navy onesies and consignment store stuff. And anyway, while I love designer things, they are only worth it if they last, which obviously stuff for infant won't!

Ellaila Ahoy there twin momma! Can you help me out with a ballpark of your twins running cost per week (diapers, wipes, food, anything else I might not have thought of for day to day)?

Ladies, THE CUTENESS! THE CUTENESS! I''m dying here! GAH. Those are some delicious bebes.

Ditto! hehe

Bobo, little B is soooo cute, love those cheeks! I never seen a car like that, so cute!!!

Bobo, so cute! Love little B''s car.

DD, DH "surprised" me with the TV.
20.gif
He tried to convince me we needed it. It is nice though. She is trouble. Haha.

MrsS, she is getting so big
39.gif
Why I LOVE this age it still makes me sad.

Lorelei, they are actually pedipeds. I like that they are all leather (suppose to be easier for her to walk in) also they make a great chew toy. Seems like she (and her friends) LOVE sucking on them.

Indy, I think $100 for 2 might be all right in the early days. I spend $25 alone on ONE for formula a week
38.gif
then there is baby food, diapers, wipes, toys, clothes, bottles, batteries....etc...

Tacori--cute new pics! That crib is sooo funny--wonder if it even meets safety standards
3.gif
Duct tape does solve many problems--i have a roll everywhere

Tgal--raspberries are cute but they come with a face full (your face) of drool
14.gif

Curly--good to hear from you and your mellow-bebe. Can''t believe you are 31 weeks already

I am off to the mall to try to come up with something for Charlie''s 29th b-day...wish me luck

Curly~while I love every stage T is in in the moment, I really do look forward to when she starts "getting it."

Tacori~That crib is a disaster! T looks so big holding herself up by the TV.

Bobo~Glad you were able to get Little B in to see the ped. Good luck with the solids!!

Ack......DH is on me to water my plants before he leaves (so he can watch T)....BBL....

i think I mentioned that I don''t buy formula so I have no idea how much it is..but if you aren''t planning on nursing or can''t for some reason then your $100/week is probably pretty realistic for twins.

oh bobo- little B in that car is too cute. I''m going to have to get one of those for Jake down the road.

Curly, awwww...I love reading that lily is trying to communicate and can totally imagine how heartwarming it is to hear. I love even the simple coos and babble that is coming out of Amelia so I can only imagine how much better it gets. You''re 31 weeks already...wow...

Tacori, hahaha! That crib! It''s just awesome! (not.) That''s some serious on the fly fixin ya did. And I love the peeking pic of Tacori...that one had me in grins all day.

IG, we go through a can of formula a week, I think. So that''s $30. Diapers, around 7 or 8 a day (I change them a lot, for even pee diapers - and that is for a 12 hour period since she sleeps 12 hours at night and I don''t change her until morning). Clothes? I''ve taken a ton of hand me downs and people give you a lot of clothes that fit for the first 6 months. She''s not going to have anything to wear after 6 month!

Jas, good luck on the gift hunt!

Bobo, whoo hoo, nice ride for little B! Does he need a girlfriend to accessorize his hot car? Hehehe. And Amelia must be a monster! How old is Bobo again? I think Amelia is going to blow past 14lbs in weight and height is anyone''s guess. We''ll find out her stats this Friday, as it begins the first of our "Team April" PS babies'' 4 month checkups....

OK, *gush and mush alert!*

Did you mommies ever think you could love something/one THIS much? You know how before most of us had kids, we were always happy to play with other people''s kids but even HAPPIER to give them back and we worried how we''d do when we couldn''t give them back? Well, I''m THRILLED to get Amelia "back" and don''t care to give her away! I look forward to her waking from naps so I can see her.

Even though I work from home, the thought of going back to work and not being able to devote all my time to her is making me ill. I can understand now why mothers decide not to go back. This is the one area where I''ve surprised myself...I never thought I would ACTUALLY want to be a stay at home mom, but I do! I''m hoping once I settle back into work, I won''t feel as sad (and obviously I will be home but I want to be pretty disciplined at focusing on work because when she gets older, she will not understand that mommy can''t play if I don''t set some precedence now).

I dunno. I love being a mom, I guess. The toughest but the most rewarding job I''ve ever had in my life so far. And they tell me your love for your child just keeps growing? Oh my god, how am I going to be able to handle all this gushiness?

TGal is meeeeeeeeltinggggggggg! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jas, thanks! Good luck with your DH''s gift.

Burk, isn''t that crib horrible?!? Oh well. It still worked. Towel bumper saved the day.

MrsS, you are lucky you are able to have free milk
2.gif
At least I had some too...for awhile. Formula is expensive but she also drinks a lot more now than when she was little. I know people can BF twins but I can only imagine how much harder it is.

Bobo, do you supplement? When T got down to 5% tile for weight we started giving her premmie/neosure formula. It helped so much! Our doctor was very pleased.
