TGal, oh turning soft aren''t ya friend!?! Haha. I agree. T is the BEST thing I have ever done. I love her so much I feel like my heart might explode. Not to say that I don''t need a break/me time once in awhile but she is so much fun.

Heart exploding is a good way of putting it. I couldn''t sleep last night because Amelia was just so GIGGLY and happy when her grandfather and I were playing with her during the day that I kept replaying it in my mind and I was so happy. Who the hell can''t sleep because they are so thrilled their kid giggled?
20.gif

Put me in the koo-koo ward...I''m doomed!!!!
39.gif

TGal, I am so happy for you. I hate to tell you but it just gets worse! I grow more and more attached to her daily. Plus she does way cooler stuff now. I cannot wait until she can give me a proper kiss and tell me she loves me. THAT might really make me melt into a puddle. She does pull up on me (so I will pick her up) and kind of hug me. She is a sweetie.

I know...that was what was keeping me up last night...knowing I was only touching the tip of the iceberg. I always knew my mom loved me, but now I really understand how much. It's mind boggling.

Although I still maintain that the first six weeks suck. My memory of that time is long.
9.gif

ETA, and I have to say that Tessa is just one of the most beautiful little girls I have ever seen...I can only imagine what a heartbreaker she is in person!!!

TGal, you are so sweet. Sometimes I am shocked DH and I created such a perfect creature. Ame is so adorable as well. Don't you just love baby girls? I think the first FOUR MONTHS suck! If I could birth a 4 month old I totally would...though that would really hurt
3.gif

Thanks MrsS, it''s Combi, you can actually see the box in the background. Little B really love his ride.

TGal, Amelia is welcome anytime to ride in his hot car
9.gif
. little B will turn 6 month on Aug. 11. I wish he can just eat more but now he is older there is no way we can force feed him.

Tacori, I don''t know we can supplement with formula. What is a neosure? can I mix it with his soy formula?

Bobo, neosure is a high calorie formula (22 instead of 20 for it is 10% more). They sell it at Target and BRU. Not sure if they have a soy version but the great thing is he can eat the same amount but take in more calories. She went from 5% back up to 25% in one month (I think it was a 2 lb weight gain). My dad was very worried about her.

Awww Tgal! I feel the exact same way! I was a baby person before T, but mommyhood is by far the best thing I've ever done! I am so crazy about her and being a mommy that I'm ready for another!
6.gif
Yea, I know. Crazy.

Bobo~T has the same car (hers is green). She thinks it's pretty funny. Starting solids will help Little B gain some weight too. Are you starting just cereal or veggies and fruit too?

Indy~We're in the unfortunate camp of baby with milk, soy and corn intollerance. Her formula runs us around $40-50 a week depending on how much she eats that week.
3.gif
She also has reflux and has meds for that. Not to say that your baby is going to have the issues ours does, but in saying this, I would stay at $100 for "incidentals" such as these.
2.gif

Tacori~Wondering how that hotel even thinks that crib shouldn't be in the dumpster!
14.gif
Good thing you packed duct tape! Did you say you're only around for a week? Is your next trip to see your family?

Jas~Happy shopping!

I just got an email from Old Navy and it had some of the cutest baby clothes. Wide leg trouser jeans for an infant? Too cute. My sister and I are going to head there tomorrow. We're headed to the pool here in a bit. Although it may be a short trip, as Miss T is in a new phase where she only naps 45min-1 hr for EVERY nap. She used to have one nap that was at least 2 hrs. Now, she wakes up happy as can be but I can tell she's still tired. I've tried going in and giving her the paci back, leaving her in her crib (she typically just plays away in there), getting her out of her crib and bouncing her, nothing works. She wants to be up. Hopefully it's just a phase. Speaking of. Monster is mad I have left her in her crib....Later!

Burk, we leave tomorrow. I am excited but dreading the trip alone. ON sent me one of their 20% bags (anything you fit into it you get it for a discount). I''ll have to go see what I can find!!!

It must be something about the 3-month mark that parents really bond with their kids b/c i am feeling the same way as Tgal--i wish Co could just cuddle me back b/c i just can''t give him enough hugs/kisses. Maybe it is b/c they start to look/act like little people (not just squishy newborns) or maybe it is the extra sleep but i know most moms say they really start to enjoy their kids at around 3 months. And Tacori, i can just imagine what it is like when they start to develop their personality--so fun.

Burk--i think about having another baby almost daily (although we have decided we won''t try again till this time next year) --despite how tired i am 24/7 i know i want another!

Tgal--speaking of more kids--think you may have another now? I don''t know how you''ll manage to concentrate on work when amelia is so close by, but at least you can sneak in a cuddle when you feel the urge. That is a great thing.
I am not sure how i feel about returning to work. I think i want to, but i don''t face that until march so until that deadline approaches i am not sure my feelings are accurate. I think once #2 comes along i''ll stay home for longer than the year.

More later, but to answer your question Jas:

The idea is still HUGELY unappealing to me. And I mean seriously, hugely, gigantically unappealing. But because I love Amelia so much, I''d consider it because I think it would be nice for her to have a sibling.

36.gif
Yay! James got another A+ at his pedi appt today!
36.gif
He weighs 8lbs, 3ozs and is smack in the middle for height/weight/head circumferance. I can''t belive how much he weighs already! Such a big boy, just like his daddy. The past two nights he''s slept really well - only waking about every 2.5-3 hours to be fed and no fussing before/afterwards. Sadly, he sleeps in his carrier because he hates the bassinet. If his legs come unwrapped from the blanket he will cry until he''s re-swaddled. Pedi said it''s a hard habit to break so hubby and I really need to get him into the bassinet sooner rather than later.

Formula feeding moms - Target has 30.8oz cans of Enfamil Lipil for 24.99, which is 20% more formula than the 24oz cans for the same price. I picked up two today after James'' appt.

Tgal - I''m with you on adding another to my family. I''m only 4 weeks post-partum and I just love giving James all of my attention. It''s going to be really hard for me to go back to work. I''m really going to try to go back part time and see if I can keep it that way. I''m a softie too
2.gif

Tacori, thanks for the info. will go check it out.

Burk, the pedi said to start with cereal for a week and see if little B react well to it then move on to veggies and fruit.
Is T''s car from Combi too? We were shopping at BRU looking for teether and I saw this car and it was love at first sight.

I told DH I want to get this car for little B, he will love it (I think I love it more than he does) I said if they make it in adult version I will get one instantly. But the BRU we were at was out of stock so we had to go to another BRU and the one I got was the last one.

Diva, I picked up 8 cans b/c it is a really good deal. Hopefully that will get me through a few months. My neighbor just gave me a bunch of coupons too (wish I had had them last week!) Oh well...we still have 3 months before whole milk...OMG she is going to be a year old in 3 months
23.gif

Jas, I totally understand. Not that I didn't ALWAYS love Tessa she is just so much more fun now. She waves (at herself in the mirror, at people...even at the TV) so funny!

TGal, I do think it is nice to have a sibling BUT I am no where near ready. I want to enjoy having just one for awhile before adding another into the mix. It's like we can't wait BUT can totally wait
2.gif
1.gif
Then again I hated being preggo and L&D so I am in no rush to repeat it.

ETA: Bobo, do look into it...hopefully that will help. Please make sure your teether is safe (BPA and PVC free).

Diva, yay for James'' appointment!

Just to double check, when you say he sleeps in his carrier, do you mean carseat? If so, just keep an eye out for posterior plagiocephaly (flat head). Carseats are one of the biggest reasons why we have an increase in flathead babies (I''ve head to deal with keeping an eye out for flathead because of Amelia''s torticollis, which is why I know all this garbage). Often when the baby''s head goes flat in the back, the face also can spread wider. My friend who has a baby 6 weeks older than Amelia still sleeps in her carseat because she doesn''t sleep as long anywhere else and she has a very noticeable flat head. Really flat, actually.

Tacori~Are you flying or driving? Sorry if you''ve already said. Can''t keep up. I''m sure Tessa will do great. I just got my ON bag in the mail. I noticed it doesn''t start until the first so we''ll probably have to push back our shopping trip so I can use it.
3.gif

Jas~Glad I''m not the only crazy one who thinks about another baby. The first week home I thought "how in the h*** do people do this with another kid running around?" now I''m all abou it.
20.gif
My best friend told me I''d forget all the bad stuff and she''s right (MS, contractions, ect). I am just so in love with Miss T that I can''t wait to do it again. We have to "schedule" when we get preggo due to volleyball season so we will probably won''t start trying around February.

Diva~Yay James! As for the sleeping in the carrier...T HATED her bassinet too. We ended up putting her in her crib at about 3 weeks. I was so worried at first, but it was actually the best thing we could have done. She slept great in the crib and we ended up getting better sleep because she wasn''t right there for us to hear everything she did.

Bobo~Good luck withthe cereal. T didn''t really like cereal at first. I started mixing it with pears (they''re near impossible to have a food intollerance to) and she LOVED it. Now I mix all her fruit with cereal. Let us know how it goes. ... and post pics!! And yep, her car is a Combi too. She got it from her grandma. I posted a pic a few pages back. So cute.

How could I forget my important news? T has a tooth!!! Finally. A tooth. I felt it when we were at the pool. We had met a couple of my volleyball players there. I wa so excited about the tooth I think they thought I had lost my mind!
2.gif
9.gif

Burk, I can barely keep up and it''s my life
3.gif
T and I are flying. It is a 2 hour flight. Not bad but I am still scared. I figure I will give her a bottle, have her snack on cheerios, bounce her around, maybe read her a book....maybe she will even nap (
36.gif
) That would be amazing!

Diva, I forgot to mention...T slept in her infant seat for the first month or so. My doc was fine with it. We thought she had reflux so it was actually suggested. You have PLENTY of time to worry about sleep training LATER.
2.gif

Tacori~I''m sure she''ll do great. I know my T seems to show off when other people are around. Tessa will probably smile at everyone and make lots of new friends!
9.gif

All of the baby pictures are so cute! It melts my heart!

Question for you mommies about traveling with a 1 year old -

DH has a conference in Toronto and the baby will be about 1 year old. We're thinking about making that our first family trip. I haven't traveled since Dec 07 so I've been daydreaming about this trip. It's about a 5 hour flight. How is it traveling with a 1 year old? Will I be able to enjoy the trip?

OMG, our babies are ridiculously adorable! Seriously, I can barely stand it.

Tacori, Tessa is just adorable!! I sooo wish she and Lily could hang out together! Does she really enjoy watching tv? I hate to say it but sometimes I try to get Lily to watch stuff just so I can get a break for a minute and she has NO interest. I try to get her to watch Dora so she can learn Spanish!!! Maybe I should try some other shows although we''re not home during the day so I don''t even really know what''s on. Btw, Lily had those same Pedipeds. I just LOVE them!!!! Good luck on the trip. Tessa is a pro now, she''ll be fine!!

iluvcarats and mrssalvo, thanks for the info on toddler/twin beds. I am going to keep Lily in her crib for as long as possible. With another one on the way, I don''t think it''s wise to switch up too much stuff too quickly.

Bobo, B''s ride is awesome!! He is such a cutie pie!!!!! Sounds like he''s doing well and I''m sure once he starts solids he''ll be gaining weight faster.

IG, I think it''s smart to budget $100/week and if you end up not using all of it, it will be like "free" money! Diapers and formula (if you use it) will be your biggest expenses. I highly recommend signing up online for all the coupons you can get. Go to all the websites (Pampers, Huggies, Enfamil, etc.) and put in your info. If they know you''re having twins, you''ll probably get loads of freebies.

TGal, I love hearing you gush about Amelia! It''s pretty amazing, isn''t it??? DH and I are still sappy like that. We will just stand over Lily''s crib and watch her sleep and we get all teary eyed. Exploding heart indeed!!! Yes, it is by far the hardest job on earth but undoubtedly the most rewarding. I can''t wait till you get pregnant again because regardless of what you say now, I just KNOW that you''re going to have another one eventually!!
3.gif
I hope things go well for you when you start working again. It will definitely be hard to concentrate with A so close by but you''ll be able to take breaks and hang out with her!

Diva, sounds like James is doing great! I hope you''re taking photos every day because they change soooo much daily at this point!

Burk and jas12, I was thinking about a second baby right around the 3 month point with Lily. Once she got past the baby baby stage, I was thinking about when we would have a second one. Of course, in my mind I would have JUST been trying to get pregnant again now but sometimes these things just happen when they are supposed to!
2.gif
The best laid plans...

Burk, yay for a toofie!!!! How is Tayva handling it?

snlee, we just came back from a trip with Lily so I can tell you about it. She''s 14 months old and very active so it was not the easiest thing to travel with her. She was better than expected on the plane and slept for a quite a bit of both flights but we were stupid (aka cheap!) and didn''t buy a seat for her and it was tough to have her squirming on our laps the whole time. Once we got to Puerto Rico, we had a great time but it definitely wasn''t the most RELAXING vacation. I must say that I was LUCKY to be pregnant because DH really helped out a lot but just be prepared to not have much free time unless you have lots of help!

Gotta run but I''ll add more later!

Burk, she does like to engage other people but she likes to crawl/move around more! It is *always* stressful flying with her. Sometimes she is perfect...others...let''s just say people might have decided NOT to have children after being on a flight with her.

Curly, we don''t buy her a seat either. She was a wiggly one for sure. DH kept her in the bjiorn as much as possible so that helped a bit. I wish Lily and her could have a play date too! They could be sweet, sassy girls together. T would love her. She loves watching/playing with older kids. Tessa does love TV. Sometimes I feel guilty but it really does save my sanity. Her favorite is "Yo Gabba Gabba" it is on at 5:30 on Noggin. We DVR it. Sick I know.

Snlee, I have traveled with her (flown) at age 3.5 months, 4.5 months, 8.5 months and tomorrow at almost 9 months. It is always hard and even harder now that she is mobile and sleeps less. I would say get a direct flight if possible. Better yet leave her at home
3.gif
I think DH and I will take a vacation just the two of us b/c it is much different with a baby. It is hard b/c there is NO way to predict how the baby will behave. It stresses me out.

Curly and Tacori, thanks for sharing! I am worried it'll be too stressful. I forgot about how active he'll be too, which will make it even more difficult. Maybe we'll leave him at home or maybe I won't go. We'll see. It's a long time from now!

Tacori, good luck with your upcoming trip! Wow, Tessa has traveled a lot!

Tacori, I forgot where I got this from (is it here?? can''t remember) but there is a blog called z recommends and the blog has all the info. on BPA and PVC free baby product listed so I have printed out a list of BPA free teether when we went shopping. Which bring up a question, do you guys worry about BPA in formula?

Thanks for the tip Burk, will try the pears with cereal if little B don''t like cereal alone. I saw the pix of Tayva in her ride, very cute and yeah on the tooth!!

36.gif

Thanks Curly, I hope little B will love solid and start to gain more weight.

Bobo, I like thesoftlanding.com but I have been to that website too. I know we can''t prevent EVERYTHING but I try. I do worry a little bit about formula but she has to have it so I try to ignore it. I see Avent FINALLY admitted that BPA is bad and has a BPA free bottle now
20.gif

Hey Everyone! Thanks so much for the input about how much to budget per bebe. I think we''ll take Curly''s advice and budget $100/wk, and if it''s less, great!

Ooo....new adorable pix!

Tacori
i puffy heart the sneaky T shot.
too cute....and might i add that she''s got one gorgeous set of peepers.

Bobo
little B is cruising in his new ride.
should have him and Tayva do a race huh? :)
i don''t know, base on the pix, little B doesn''t that skinny to me.
perhaps his chubby cheeks are a bit deceptive?
41.gif

Burk
hehe, cute bow on Tayva.

TGal
Ha, I think my chunky J is past 14lbs already
41.gif

Can you believe our little ones are almost 4 months already?
Time is just zooming by so fast
39.gif

As much as I love playing with J, I can''t say that I look forward to her waking from her naps just yet
3.gif

I guess I would if I have a sleeper like you :)
Last night was the worst....she woke up every 2-3 hours to eat and then refuses to go back to sleep at 5 am this morning.
she wanted to play and i had gone to sleep just 3 hours before
14.gif

she did finally got tired around 7 and did go down then.

Tgal - Yes, I mean his carseat and we are well aware of the flat head thing. I switch his head position every night and lay him on his side during the day when I can watch him. That''s the first thing my mom warned us about when I told her he was sleeping there!

Burk - Congrats on the tooth! We haven''t even attempted the crib yet - it''s still full of gifts from my showers
6.gif
. He keeps me up at night with the all noises he makes but hubby sleeps right through it.

Curly - We take sooo many pics of him! He''s just too cute not to! He''s already changed so much from his hospital newborn pictures.

How long did you ladies with older babies let them fuss at night before going to them? I wait unitl I know James is actually waking up to eat before I actually get him out of bed but sometimes I feel like he''s just fussing because he has gas or is pooping.

Curly~She is actually handling it pretty well. Been a bit "whiny" the past couple days when I'm not right there and has woken a couple times at night, but I just give her binky to her and she goes back to sleep. I knew something was up with her when she refused to play by herself yesterday. SO not like her. As for baby two...can't plan everything (although I would like to
3.gif
) but I'm staying on birth control until at least February because I can't chance being due during volleyball season. I would feel obligated to come right back and coach (since the season is only 3 months) and I don't think I could handle that!

Tacori~She'll do great. I doubt anyone has ever decided NOT to have children after seeing Miss Tessa! She's too darn cute. Have a great trip!!

Bobo~T and Little B would have a heck of time in their cars together, wouldn't they?
9.gif
T has started to walk in hers to our dog or to her other toys. It's pretty cute.

lili~Thanks! Her hair is getting so long, I just had to do it!
9.gif

Diva~Thanks. I never knew I could be so excited about a tooth!
21.gif
I know we are in the minority putting her in her crib that early, but she would NOT sleep in her bassinet. At first she just looked so darn tiny in there but she slept way better in there and has always slept pretty good at night (even with the reflux). As for wait time-15 minutes or so. Obviously if she is screaming I know something is up and head in there right away, but if it's just fussiness or noise, I wait it out for a good 10-15 minutes.

tgal- i''m excited about the 4 month check-ups for team April. I can''t wait to see how our babies are doing. My jumbo jake was 14 lbs at his 9 week check-up though so i''m guessing he''s probably 16 by now
23.gif
. I don''t look forward to the next round of shots though
7.gif
I''m right there with you on the exploding heart baby love
30.gif
30.gif

snlee-traveling with a one year old is hard. but IMO traveling with any age kids until they are a lot older is tough, but you''ll do fine and mom''s have a way of just doing what they need to do to make it work. We flew to florida when my oldest was one. I actually did buy her a seat and strapped her in her carseat on the plane. made the flight a lot easier, although carrying the carseat around the airport was not fun.

burk- yay for the first tooth..my oldest just lost her 3rd tooth today. funny how with the babies we get excited when they get them and then in a few years we get excited when they lose them...

tacori- hope you have a great trip.
