jas your poor boys!! saline nose drops really helped B when he got his first cold, maybe around 2 months or so. hope they get better soon!

yup...saline, sleep & steam is it. no meds of course. no fun for the little guys who are ust snorting away. i wish the noses were runny at least.

anywau...looks like pumping isn''t going to last miuch longer -- my supply os almost zero -- i don''t have time to drink enough water during the day & they wont latch onto me any more to stimluate supply. sigh.

looking for cheap baby costumes tho, that makws me smile!!!

snlee, she is so laid back I think it is a shock to see her crabby. I am sure it does hurt but she seems to be sleeping okay. (Keeping fingers crosses).

Jas, I think T got the cold that seems to be going around (seriously all of her friends have been sick). I was hoping it was just a running nose from teething. Hard to tell. We just gave her some medicine. Hope the steam works. Hot showers I tell you! We have been taking her in the shower with us since she was really young. Sorry to hear about your milk supply.

Awweee jackiejas,
Sorry to hear that your little boys have the snuffy nose.
Hope they get better soon....and you should take extra care of yourself in case you catch what they have.
Let me tell you, it is no fun when you are sick and have to tend to a baby, let alone 2!

Sorry to hear about the milk supply.

i just couldn´t stay away ....

survived the flights --actually co slept thru most of the long flight. the airplane bassinet was crap, too small and required us to put this cage thing over him which creeped me out. <did anyone see the movie There Will Be Blood? (i kept saying "bastard in a basket"--so mean, but SO funny, it looked like we were trying to smuggle a baby or something)

Free internet at the hotel so i have the opportunity to PS while co is napping

just wanted to pop in to say hello, will catch up later when i have nothing to do in my hotel room and co is in bed

jas12 good to hear that Co did well on the flights!! YAY for free internet
2.gif

have a wonderful time

jas12 -- I''ve never heard of the airplane bassinet/cage thing before, but sounds disconceting...glad you guys made it though the flight :)

jackie -- i hope those boys are feeling better soon! My whole family just went through it (me included) and it looks like my 6 yr old will need to go to the doc b/c his is still lingeing. I got on a z-pack last week which knocked it out and my 2 olde boys got better w/o meds (the way i prefer it). My mom still has a cough, and of course my DH is fine. It''s so much harder IMO when it''s your babies that are sick, especially when they ae too young to understand what''s going on...

jen
37w 4d only 3 more days...

hi mommies and soon to be mommies..

not much going on here. jake's second front tooth has broken his gum and my normal happy little man has been crankypants. I gave him some of the hylands teething tablets which do seem to help and he's been able to sleep.

jas-sorry your little guys are sick. it's no fun when our precious babies are under the weather. I hope the steam helps. I used the hot steam with my kids when they have colds and have good success.

jen-good luck gal I can't wait for you to be over here full time!!

jas12-yay for hotel internet. check in when you can. i hope you are having a wonderful time though.

Tacori~I decided to try the upside down thing with my T to check for any more teeth....worked well! No new ones though. Also, she sat still and watched "Yo Gabba Gabba" for ten minutes today. Little successes.

jas~Sorry your little guys are sick. Hope they are feeling better soon.

jas12~Sounds like Co was a pro traveler. Yay for free internet. Enjoy your trip!

mrss~Poor Jake. Hope he's back to his old self soon!

Crazy weekend here. Football, daycare interviews, bridal shower (my sister's), wedding, DH left for business....no bat in the house though!
16.gif
T was a very good girl considering her whole schedule was throw off by all the socializing.

Ack....muffins are done. BBL

Burk, glad my position worked. She loves it. I am glad hat even though the top four will be no where fully in for her b-day she will have more than just the bottom two (in theory). I was starting to get worried! I seriously have not a met a baby that didn''t love "yo gabba gabba." Tessa dances, sings, claps, laughs...it is so cute.

Jas12, I am so glad the flight went well. What a relief! Hope the rest of the trip goes smoothly.

MrsS, I can relate to the teething woes. Poor Jake!

Jas, I think miss T is sick too with a cold. I thought at first it was just from teething but it is still around. Plus I have been feeling sick too and we are usually sick together. Hope the boys are feeling better.

Jen, you are almost done!

Hi Puffy and Lili
35.gif

Burk and Tacori--Jay loves to hang upside down! Whenever she''s sitting on the couch with us she always flips over on her back and hangs her head off the end (with us holding on to her legs of course) Jay loves yo gabba gabba too--the dvds are on their way to my house at this very moment. Got them off of amazon for cheap...

Jas12--Congrats on the successful flight! I''ve never seen a bassinette on a plane, but that definitely sounds interesting...

MrsS--I feel you on the teething. Jay just got her bottom two and was a huge crankypants! And she''s ALWAYS happy!

Jas--My whole fam has been sick for the past week (I''ve been sick for the past 2). It stinks! Hope the boys are feeling better.

Jen--major labor dust coming your way! Hope to see you over here permanently very soon!

tacori- I just saw a commercial for a Dance along Brobee(sp) doll from Yo Gabba Gabba. My 4 year old just asked if she could get one for Christmas. I bet Tessa would love it..

Tacori~Yea, the upside thing is a keeper. I''ve done it before but never thought to look for teeth until you mentioned it and the light bulb came on.
9.gif
I think it''s a little hard for T to really watch TV because ours is above our fireplace. She was talking and clapping and trying to reach for the TV for the ten minutes she actually watched it yesterday. Too funny. Hope you two aren''t getting sick. T''s had a runny nose too and I am thinking it''s just teething. Hard to tell since they can''t tell us.
41.gif

misspinky~Funny that Jay hangs her head off the couch. I think all babies like being upside down for some reason. Makes me laugh. I''m glad I gave "yo gabba gabba" another shot since you and Tacori said your little ones like it. T seemed to be interested for a little while. I''m going to DVR some more so I can try again.

Thanks SDL! Hopefully she''s off having her little girl!
36.gif

thanks SDL..can''t wait for the update..

Kay posted in the Pregnant thread a earlier today saying she''s going in to get induced tonight. Not sure what time though. She''ll be holding her baby soon! I can''t wait for an update!

Kay should be holding her baby sometime tomorrow afternoon/night!
36.gif
I was induced and had to have cervidil. It was *very* uncomfortable but got the job done. You sleep with it (like in a tampon type applicator) and then they will start her on pitocin tomorrow morning. I never made it that far though.

More later, but I posted in the gear thread that mamabargains has the fleurville mothership for 46 bucks, which is a steal. I picked one up because I need a monster bag for day long trips...as she gets older, I need to carry more stuff! This bag it totally impractical for every day use though, IMHO. Too darn big!

I need to vent.

SIL is over with her 2 months old DS. My MIL tried to give M a bottle, but she wouldn''t take it and started fussing and crying. So I took over, but M was still crying and so I was going to just breastfeed her. Then SIL told me that I shouldn''t give her the boobs, that I need to wean her off the boobs, and that I should let someone else feed her. I was really annoyed that she is telling me what to do. Our plans are different, and she shouldn''t imposed her ideals on me. She plans not to continue breastfeeding after she goes back to work, so she''s been pumping and giving her DS bottles. She is freezing breastmilk for when she goes back to work and eventually she will give formula when her freezer stash run out. My plan is to continue breastfeeding as long as possible after I go back to work. I will be pumping at work and giving DD expressed breastmilk when I am at work, and I will breastfeed whenever I am home. So I don''t want or need to wean M off the boobs. Unless M self-weans, I want to breastfeed as long as possible. Why can''t other people just be supportive of what the mom wants?

Thanks for letting me vent.

SDL - thanks for the update on Kay.

Good Luck Kay.

A pic of us out and about yesterday.

Hmm the pic didn''t post. second try.

qt you look awesome! and M is as cute as ever, even though i couldn't see her too well. but i am sure she is a doll.
you should just ignore your SIL. everyone has different plans when it comes to BF. just do what you normally do. some things might work for her but not for you. and you know M better than anyone, so just do what works for the both of you! you can't please everyone.

it's been crazy around here! B is all over the place getting into things that he shouldn't. the good thing that has come out of him walking is i am getting a workout chasing him around! but he is so fun!!! i'll catch up when i get a chance. and he never wants to nap anymore because he is too busy exploring everything.
hope all mamas are doing good and the wee ones are good too!!!

ETA: oops, sorry we were posting at the same time. M is a doll!!! very cute girl!

Q, you look great and M is so cute! IGNORE. IGNORE. IGNORE. No matter what parenting decision you make SOMEONE will tell you that you are doing it wrong. That''s the only thing you can count on! Just remind yourself that you are a good mom and you are doing what is best for your child.

Puffy, oh no B is on the go. It is fun when they start to walk.

Puffy -- go B go!

QT -- Such a QT pie!!! Great pictures. And Tacori is right...apparently we''re all doing something wrong according to someone...

Speaking of which -- lil Jackson is pretty sick (head cold, no fever)...but the lady who comes a couple nights a week so DH and I can have a few nights'' sleep just gave me an earful. Apparently the baby is sick and miserable because of what I do and do not do (e.g. I bathed the babies before a road trip yesterday, I didn''t saline their noses the instant they got stuffy, I bottle feed them). I broke down in tears, but then I thought, "Ya know, I do the best I can. It''s a head cold." THey aren''t even stuffy anymore. Just out of sorts.

Everyone has a d**med opinion. They''ve got ''em about pregnancy, they''ve got ''em about parenting, and no one seems real shy about sharing.

I''ve made it my mission in life to tell all new mothers "You are doing a great job!" (ya know, unless they are diapering the wrong end of the baby or something.)

I literally held Jackson for 12 hours today, taking one bathroom break. He wouldn''t stop fussing unless I held him "just so" and after awhile he''d want to change positions. The only time he sort of slept was when I lay down with him on my bed (and yes, I know that makes me a horrid parent in the eyes of a lot of books). However, I didn''t sleep at all. Just held the little guy. (He hates the sling)

Poor Logan got zero attention from me today, and I think the dog has packed a suitcase and is going to run away a la "Snoopy Come Home."

But at least my MIL is coming over to visit tomorrow.

I need to stay out of the WWT thread today because I think I cleared us out of the Halloween Candy. To be fair, they are called "Fun Size" and I needed A LOT of fun today.

THanks for letting me share. Who wants my opinion on their mothering skills?

Awww Jas I have missed these posts soooooo much(not the ones where you are sad but just the ones where you are so gosh darn funny). I am so sorry the babysitter/nurse person made you feel so bad. I will take care of her if you would like!!!!
face19.gif
. I''m sorry that you are having such a hard time today with your guy not letting you put him down. Keep up the good work and trust your good(awesome) mommy instincts. I wish i could give you a hug. I ate cheezits, icecream and brownie, some sushi and a small serving of pasta and lettuce today. You are welcome to criticize my mothering/pregnancy skills! I gave you lots to choose from. I''m ready for it.
Is tonight one of the nights you get rest? I hope you can sleep and that tomorrow is a better day. Thinking of you...

tacori how''s T doing with the whole walking thing? B''s been walking for a bit, but now he is just so sure of himself and he isn''t scared anymore. he just wants to get into everything. he is walking so fast now too. it''s almost like he''s running, which i am sure he can do. it''s tough keeping up with him. i''m sure you have your hands full with T also.
it''s funny too, when he wants me to go with him somewhere, he will come grab my hand and kind of lead the way and point to where he wants to go the whole way there.
it''s almost T''s birthday right?

burk hoe your search for a daycare is going well.

jas hope the boys are better! poor little jackson!! poor mama too for having to listen to the woman! people always have opinions about anything and everything. i just let it go in one ear and out the other. hope the boys are doing well.

lili how''s J doing? walking yet? close i am sure!! i hope she''s been getting her milk at daycare.

QT~I just don't understand why everyone thinks they're an expert. I agree with Tacori-IGNORE! Sorry you had to go through that. Cute pics!!

jas~I'm seriously laughing out loud right now and my students are taking a test looking at me like I'm nuts! You're a great mommy! And.....um yea, fun size means the more the merrier!

puffy~Sounds like B is becoming an expert walker! So fun.
30.gif
Thanks for mentioning daycare, as we have luckily found a great place! It's a center in a church and there are a lot of great things like the fact that there are 5 adults in the infant/toddler room with 13 babies. We're excited we got so lucky!

Hoping Kay is going to meet her little one soon. I had a wacky induction (I was induced in the evening) because my doc wanted to deliver me and couldn't do it the next morning. They broke my water at 5:30 pm and didn't start pitocin until 6:30. It sucked and I wouldn't want to do it like that again, but I'm so glad my doctor was able to deliver Tayva.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say hi - I''ve been MIA from posting again but am still trying to keep up with what''s going on with you all and the babes.

Jen, can''t wait till you meet your girls!!! So exciting!

And love all the new photos of course
9.gif

G & K are a whole lotta fun these days, though they''re quite exhausting! Their newest tricks are to wave hi/bye bye, blow kisses (K does that, G doesn''t), and cover their eyes to play peekaboo. Well, actually peekaboo and blowing kisses both consist of just basically smacking somewhere on the face with an open hand, but hey it''s a start. Very cute to see them being so interactive! Also starting to plan their birthday party, and I realized yesterday that I was completely delusional with thinking we could do something in our house. No way, no how. Being in Boston and having December birthday means a whole lot of people stuck inside the house (can''t go hang out outside in the yard), and our house is just way too small for that. So I called Gymboree and Little Gym, and I think we''re going to do a party at one of those places. I''m pretty relieved to do that actually -- less stress, not much preparing other than getting cakes, and no cleanup!!!
36.gif
Now that''s my kinda party!!

Hey mamas!

Puffy, she is a walker now for sure. She still falls sometimes (it is worse when she is tired) but she probably only crawls 25% of the time (*if* that). She is always walking while eating, drinking her bottle, playing with a toy...it''s cute. B sounds so cute! I love that he grabs his hand and takes you where he wants to go. I have "miss independent" over here so she hasn''t done that yet.

Burk, glad you found some place for T! I never needed pitocin for my induction. The cervidil was enough and my water broke on its own.

Jas, hope the boys are doing better. Sick babies are tough. I cannot even IMAGINE two at once! You are a better woman than me.

Ella, sounds like K & G are doing great! I can''t believe they will be one soon! I am getting excited for T''s party. We went to one at gymboree and the babies had a GREAT time! Nothing wrong with that!
