The bottom one costs 950€, the other costs 700€ ...IMO both expensive and ugly!

If she had just worn the top one, I probably wouldn't haven't complained. At the very least I would have had to do a closer look to tell if i was Swarovski or diamond. However, the bottom one was a dead giveaway. It just looks like chunks of plastic hanging on a thread.

Re: the two Swarovski necklaces, perhaps she is a brand ambassador for them?
Personally, even if the necklaces were made with diamonds, they do not make a good match worn together.
Just the top one would be fine and sufficient with her dress's neckline IMHO.
The bottom one is too long for that neckline, again, IMHO.
Together they just looked a mess, kind of desperate in a show off way, again IMHO.
She could have borrow something a bit more classy from the family vault, IMHO.
Perhaps she wanted to make her own marks, who knows?

Or she could've worn one of the wide diamond bracelets on a velvet choker. The one Madeleine wore at her wedding was originally a choker amd was worn as such by Grand Duchess Louise of Baden. Queen Margrethe II has also worn a large bracelet as choker in the past.
Two bracelets, actually - one on each wrist
Yesterday evening, the King hosted his dinner for the Nobel laureates at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
I was thinking of posting photos, but figured that the jewels will be best appreciated in motion!
You can forward to when the royals start arriving at 3.20 min, unless you want to see fashion of the other guests
A brief overview of the jewels from last night:
- The Queen wore the imposing Leuchtenberg sapphires
- The Crown Princess wore the Connaught tiara, huge pearl drop earrings and an opal brooch that was last seen in 1935!
- Princess Sofia didn't surprise anyone with her tiara, but she also wore a small ruby bracelet to match her red gown - the back chain from the Edwardian ruby tiara, a ruby cluster brooch and the large floral earrings
- Princess Christina repeated her tiara, but donned her small sapphire necklace and diamond floral brooch
- Countess Bettina wore the family's multicolour sapphire spike tiara
i think the crystal things would have looked better with the red dress - not that i want to see them
but i do like to see a necklace

i have a question for @dk168
on the pearl forum in the last day or two someone (maybe a trade member) was talking about how he/she (i cant remember who said it and ive looked back but boy there is this thread i wish i had never opened ) had seen older strands (not FW) with the back pearls near the clasp wear right down - now HM had more than one strand of pearls but those Queen Caroline and Queen Anne strands are some of the oldest jewles in the vault - have we ever seen much of the back of HM's pearls and did they show that kind of wearing ?
