I'm always reminded of this interaction between Queen Mary and the Duchess of Kent (Marina). The anecdote goes that when QM saw her daughter-in-law's red nail polish, she exclaimed "My husband doesn't approve of painted nails", to which Marina, being the confident fashionable princess she always was, replied "Well, mine does".
Not sure how credible that is, but I can well imagine it being true.

its from the state banquet in honour of French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron

i can remember being stunned by this at the time, it was just outragouse to me :lol-2:
i would never have put pink with red but Diana had the confidence to pull it off and make it look iconic

@Daisys and Diamonds the colour combination in the outfit and the difference in colour saturation are very different to the CS stones combination that you were referring to, not like for like, IMHO, sorry!

it just went through my head at the time
i actually googled Diana, red and orange but it was not to be
but the late princess did wear a surprising amount of orange, just none with red that i could see

The tune of "Lady in Red" immediately popped in my head. Agreed - these are some fabulous pearls.

i think this is something to look forward to, i would think The King cant do it because if he is having chemo is immune system will be compromised and William is looking after Catherine and the children

our schools have only just gone back (well beginning of Feb) but high schools usually finish up the first week of December when the juniors finally finish, seemingly weeks after the seniors went into exams (our high schools are 5 years) and dont go back till either the very beggining of Feb or maybe the last day of Jan for a teacher only day or junior orintation

* they really are the most dispicable publication (they did) they have been posting horrible gossip about Princess Mary since she married Fred and they publish blantent lies about Charles and Cam as staple (maybe i should say stable) fodder, they are also the publication that broke the story about Prince Harry when he was in Afganistan
