It’s been many years now since I made them. My mom made a very simple version but she doesn’t remember how she made them..I don’t like them sweetened though. This is recipe is perfect @Lookinagain! I love the spices but I don’t like when the sauce is sweet. I never made it with sour cream but it sounds delicious. I will make this as soon as I finish my chicken soup! I make different things for my husband and son. They never like the foods I like so I cook a batch of something for myself. I can eat it every day until it’s gone..Thank you!
They freeze very well. I have a vacuum sealer and I freeze them in the bag first then seal them, two at a time. That way you can make a big batch and save some for later.
The sour cream keep them moist. I actually throw a bit of sour cream in things like turkey burgers and meat loaf too.
