The Fire Thread!

another... in this one you cannot see the green but you can see from red through purple... this is not a leap out fire, this is dispersion of diffused light... gotta love it!!!!

this is one of the corner pavillion mains - the thin ones that produce the pinfire typically - looks long and elegant here... :)

cbOMC148.jpg

this is a different angle, same room, same light... I love how the rainbow is echoed 4 times...

cbOMC149.jpg

this is a full size of the first one I posted... I love the green in there... I see this sort of thing with my eye but the camera usually catches only one or maybe two colors.... I love the fire shots that leap out and command attention, but I love the dispersion fire shots just as much!

last one for now... I don''t want to be redundant lol

This one is goofy and I call this one Swan Song :D

Cehra, that stone is just crazy fiery! And I LOVE that last one, they really do look like swans.

:) It''s funny, but that one of just the lone facet - the thin one I called elegant at the top of this page? I just love how it does that... I mean in full sun when it''s throwing of "retina burning" flares, that''s one thing - but when it makes rainbows out of basically nothing at all - that''s impressive!!! Don''t get me wrong, I like them both - but the gentle dispersions don''t burn your retinas so you can look longer LOL!!!

<~ has burned her retinas a few times too

It''s funny how ordinary objects can take on a whole new meaning with bling. I was in the basement getting xmas decorations out, and spied a sack with stringed beads in it. Normally I would have pondered whether to put them on the tree this year, but instead, immediately thought, what a great prop for pics.

Hard to post after Ellen''s pics, but I just had my ring cleaned and thought I would try to get some shots of the (green, blue, pink, purple, yellow) fire I *always* see from my little European cut, even in dim light like today!

Unfortunately, this was the best I could get!

I love the one with the swans! I also love Ellen''s fire pics of her ring amidst the baubles! There hasn''t been much sun recently, just raining till it floods here, so I''ve got just one fire shot which I have also used for my avatar..

Vix, thanks for posting! I love all shots, big or small, they''re all pretty.

I see fire in mine a lot of times in the house, but can''t seem to capture it either. Almost all the shots in this thread came from direct sunlight. If you haven''t already, try propping it in a ray of sun, or with very strong diffused sunlight. And experiment a lot with the angle of the stone and camera. With a European cut, I bet you do get a lot of fire, and I''d love to see more!
