I''m not sure what area you speak of, but I don''t think this is necessarily the case - at least not with this program. PhDs are often times focused on research/testing whereas Master''s level clinicians are more practitioner based. Similarly to Social Work, an MSW specializes in field work rather than PhDs who typically use their doctorate to work in academia: teaching and/or scholarly research.Date: 2/11/2010 12:21:09 PM

Before you rule out PhD, you might talk to some people and see what things are like in the area you want to be in.
For my personal use and suggesting to others, I will not consider anyone who doesn''t have a PhD. (I''ve run into too many MA people who have been no good at what they do and, at least in this area, the PhD people are much easier to find patient reviews)
PhD also leaves open more options including expert witness for court cases and stuff. (not sure if they us MA too or not)
