The LIW Small Talk Thread

Just as an update...

Mom just went into pre-op. Her b/f says that she was in good spirits and the surgeon said that in about 2 hours we''ll pretty much know what the deal is (aka: whether they were able to do it all arthroscopically or if they had to make a full abdominal incision, etc...). So now we wait.

I''m getting ready to head into work. I''m picking up a friend on the way b/c she can''t get her car out to drive to the Metro station since she''s from North Carolina and doesn''t have a shovel.

LOL. Hopefully will be in by 10!

You''re a good friend V!

*dust* for VCs mommy!

You''d put a cami under that dress? I''d put a push up bra under that dress!

You can call me trampy. I don''t mind.

I know, but TP prefers to dress modestly (https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/am-i-the-only-one-here.126872/) -- Also, TP, correct me if I''m wrong, but I was under the impression you were now Orthodox? So will you be wearing a shirt under your dress? A lot of the Orthodox women I know will buy their cocktail-type dresses a little large and wear higher-necked and long-sleeved shirts underneath...

If that''s the case then I''d avoid those dresses all together. I don''t like the look of shirts under dresses. I think a chic turtle neck sweater dress would be lovely. It''d show off your curves while maintaining the modesty required. I''d also recommend spanx regardless of the dress you end up with. Even supermodels use them to smooth everything out.

Do you have cankles? I'm scared of pregnancy-induced cankles almost as much as I'm afraid of an epesiotomy.

Still. I don''t think I could get out of bed in the morning if I knew i had cankles.

No, but I saw some TV show about cankles and got freaked out that I might have them. And then for like 2 weeks DH went around pointing out other people''s cankles to me to show me that I *don''t* indeed have cankles.

Thanks, LP!

At work now. But forgot my cell phone in the car. So I''m running back to get that so I can get updates from my mom''s surgery.

And yes, elle, spanx are AMAZING. I have the cheaper Target version of the line (Assets)...and I LOVE them.

LOL--more like I''m actually on the computer early! Usually I''m up around 6:30/7 but I don''t actually get on the computer until 10ish. Today I have a ton of stuff to do!

I made mac n'' cheese last night - recipe was ''Perfect Mac&Cheese'' via NYTimes - as a surprise for FI. It was...meh. It''s one of those things that tastes sooo good at first, and then it just gets gross.

Maybe it''s because I am not a mac & cheese fanatic??? I asked him if he loved it. He said it was the best he''s ever had...and he had seconds. Then as he was cleaning the kitchen he asks, "Do you want me to save this???" He said he loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too creamy I think.

OMG OMG OMG OMG it''s FINALLY FRIDAY!

I didn''t get any pics of the BM dresses because J came home and caught me trying them on and thought I was weird so I quickly put them away. They are super pretty though! I will take a pic of my Sister when she tries on hers this weekend. We won''t tell her that I''m posting pics of her on the interweb!
