I made mac n'' cheese last night - recipe was ''Perfect Mac&Cheese'' via NYTimes - as a surprise for FI. It was...meh. It''s one of those things that tastes sooo good at first, and then it just gets gross.


Maybe it''s because I am not a mac & cheese fanatic??? I asked him if he loved it. He said it was the best he''s ever had...and he had seconds. Then as he was cleaning the kitchen he asks, ''Do you want me to save this???'' He said he loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too creamy I think.

probably. I made mac and cheese a few weeks ago and only had cream in the house so I used that instead of milk. It was a totally different dish. It needed more salt, the texture was different and it didn''t taste as cheesy. I guess I just prefer it made with milk more.

I made it with milk too. I think this recipe is supposed to be the more creamy variety - he even says in the article that he didn''t want the pasta suspended in cheese cells, or something to that effect. Don''t get me wrong, it was good, but too much a good thing can sometimes just be too much. I shouldnt'' really talk though because I''m not a mac and cheese lover.
