I accidentally clicked in here and the first thing I saw was your dog's paw Jessie. I'm such a huge animal lover, so I just wanted to say that I hope he starts to feel better soon. Poor little guy, that sounds like an awful injury. What kind of pup do you have?

awwww. Thank you so much hon. The hurt paw is mini poodle, and we also have a Lhasa Apso......i am a animal lover too and it hurts cuz he is a Doggie. It hurts more cuz he is mine. He still wont put a lot of pressure on it, so we just have to wait to see at this point in time. Ill keep you ladies updated

Hi Girls,

I am from Sydney, Australia. We haven't started looking but he is the type that gets very flustered/stressed/worried/upset if he has to decide on something for me alone so I have started to research and put together information for him if he chooses to do it alone. I have hinted I would like to be part of the process. He knows what I like yet I am really particular and he knows that so I think we will end up looking together. We talk about it a lot so I am not sure of our time frame but hopefully not too far away

It's all very exciting. I need to try and learn everything possible so this forum is fantastic for that.

I don't know why the schedule is so strange. Spring quarter ended a couple (few?) weeks after everyone else here was talking about being done. Summer quarter ends today. Fall quarter will go until the end of December (like the week before Christmas?) and winter quarter starts first week of January.

Projects before next quarter:
Finish lights in living room
install lights in office
install lights in guest room
tile kitchen backsplash
file paper stuff
organize closed
buy clothes


The office also has no light. We've been using a little task light, but it barely lights anything and I've got an online class next quarter and have to be able to work in there. (winter quarter online was miserably dark and gave me headaches). We already have the romex, light switches, and light fixtures so we just have to put them in.

Kitchen has the backsplash torn out. We have the tile, tile saw, etc. so just need to get the matching color grout, cut the tile, and install.

Paper has been piling up waiting to be shredded/filed. Need to shred the super old stuff in the filing cabinets before filing this stuff.

Closet is a mess. I got started the other day but we've got more to donate and more to toss.

FI and I both need clothes. I have only one pair of pants and a few tops. All of my long sleave stuff is either too big (like size 14 when I need 6) or massively worn (holes, loose threads, stains, faded, shrunken sleaves...). Other than a few shirts, FI's clothes are all pretty worn too. We both hate shopping for clothes.

Okay, im gonna keep you to that list. I dont understand why people hate buying clothes and shopping, i LOVE it...i go to Lowes every week witht he doggies to just window shop. LoL.....

Jessie, those sound like some super cute little pups! Dogs are very resilient and you'd be surprised at what they can overcome. One of my Yorkies had a congenital defect that made itself known when he was 1yr and he had to have part of his femur removed from his hind leg. He had to get through a lot of pain, but now he actually walks quite normally (sometimes he runs a little sideways, but it just adds to his charm). I know your situation is a little different, but I just wanted you to know that dogs are tough and he just needs your love now. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

And do post some pictures of those little rascals if you feel comfortable. I can always go for some cute dogs pics .

I've never really had anyone to shop with. My mom and grandma (and the rest of my family) aren't terribly interested in fashion and buy what is comfortable. Nothing wrong with that but it means I've lived my life in jeans and t-shirt and sweatshirts that are comfortable but leave me looking a little (or a lot) out of place. I've been trying to watch what other women my age in a semi-professional sort of place wear to get ideas and I'm figuring out what I like.
I also HATE women's clothing sizing. Depending on the brand and style and stuff I could be a size 4, a size 6, or a size 8...
Oh... and I'm a lousy judge of what looks good or not on me.
I don't have any friends to shop with. The women I know are in very different jobs and situations than me and aren't much of a help. (oversized t-shirts and faded jeans or expensive suits; 5 years younger (as in just out of high school) or much older...)


I got so frustrated shopping for a bra one day that I nearly lifted my shirt in the middle of the store so I could say "I just want one of THESE!"

I now buy all of my underwear online and have it shipped to me. I can buy multiple sizes and styles. Keep the ones I want. Return the ones I don't.

Maybe I'll have to try that with shirts and pants...

calibali: I'm sorry about your Yorkie. I think Yorkie is cute when they're just a puppy because of their short fur.

mif: I've never been to Australia! I would love to someday!!! One of my friends is in Sydney right now for a year. She's working there and exploring the city.

Shopping is good! I love shopping in the states at the outlet more especially. I love going with my mom or my bf. I'm glad my bf would go shopping with me.

Engagement bug is biting me!!! I need to be engaged!!!

Hey Beezy, yeah yorkies are irresistible when they are babies. I would love a houseful of them, but my bf limited me to two .

But I'm with you on the engagement bug. I have a lot of crazy stuff going on right now and today I found out my ring will be completed next week, so it's just one more thing I'm stressing about. I just want the darn thing at this point, ugh. Ok, rant over... How are you coping?

I've got absolutely nothing to do. My bf decided yday that he needed to drive from AZ to CO to find us somewhere to live and he took my car this morning, so I'm trapped at home til Sunday. It's going to be a loooong weekend, bah.

o cali, i am so sorry. That sucks...espically since you ahve to be home. I say you pig out on pizza and beer and do your nails and dance and sing as loud as you can until he comes home, and than when he gets home, you be passed out in the middle of the floor...lol. I do that to my SO sometimes...he thinks its funny.

Actually i dont know what my ring looks like. I have no idea, it will be a complete surpise when i get it, and when he proposes. I know nothing of it, just thats its comming this year.

cali: You must be so excited!!!! your ring will be here soon! What ring did you get? Did you share the specs with us? I probably forgot! I hope you get a proposal soon!!! you should just stay in for the whole weekend. Sometimes I find it very refreshing. I'll have no makeup, with my glasses, messy hair, still in my pj, watch stupid movies, and eat junk food. I like to do that every once in awhile! heehee

Now I'm sitting here, thinking if my bf will propose this weekend. Probably not.

I am praying he has it now in his hands, but i have no idea. He is keeping pretty much very thing from me, expect for one tiny bit. He wants the ring to be two toned because he feels its unique and it will go with everything i wear. We went Ring shopping a few times, and i pointed out things i like, like side diamonds or pave, and let him know i LOVE ovals. Other than that, its in his hands. I emailed him pictures of rings i like, but when it comes down to it. I am in the dark. It actually kind of sucks, because i am more nervous, i know he will pick something out that i love, but still nervous. He actually has really good taste. The few times we went, he seemed to pick out the most expensive ring...lol. I would LOVE a HUGE dimaond, but am happy with anything he gets me, as long as it is not a Marquis or Pear shape. LoL....Actually, i overloaded his email one day and finally told me to stop" Dont worry Baby, im gonna get you, your ring, i promise" That was in January....I know he was talking to his friend about us living together soon and but he wouldnt get into the conversation too much , since i told him i dont want to live with him until we are engaged. I was hoping he would propose this month, but i really doubt that will happen with everything going on with our dog, and bills and other issues

What about you, do you know any details?

Thanks about my baby. Tommorow Daddy ( BF) is dropping him off on his way to work at Mommy's job( I work right by the freewya he has to take to work) so that i can make sure the wound doesnt open since we are taking the bandage off. Also, i cna make sure it stay clean( since theres already dried blood in there) and no dirt gets in.

Yes, it might be best if you dont say anything about being engaged or proposals or anything ....LOL..he might actually do it before your trip. Dont think about it silly, its gonna happen a lot sooner than later

Now that I think about it, if we're engaged before our trip, I don't think I want to take my ring with me. I'll probably baby it like crazy since it's NEW. I don't want to have to worry about it when I'm enjoying myself.

I'm started to think about what to pack already. I think I'm going to miss talking to you ladies for that week!!! I feel like you guys are my real friends now. Too bad you're in LV, or else I would LOVE to hang out!!!!

Jessie - your babies are so cute! That's great that you can keep an eye on Keno while you're at work, I bet that will help him heal so much faster.

And I really like the two-toned rings, it gives them a more unique look and they will definitely match all your jewelry. I think it's so awesome that your bf can pick out your ring himself. I would love that extra element of surprise, but there is no way I would trust my bf's taste or style. And you must be doubly excited that you will get engaged and then get to live with your SO! How much longer do you think he's going to wait? And do you think he definitely has the ring?

Beezy - which islands are going to in Hawaii? I went there at the end of last year and it was so much fun, you're going to have a great time! Do you think he might bring the ring along and then propose on the last night, so you can go home engaged but not worry about wearing the ring at the beach? That would be such a great story .

Oh, and I'll throw out some of my story. So my ring is a Leon Classic Solitaire with a 2.66 RB keystone, and a peridot and pink diamond inside the band (for our birthstones). It was supposed to take 4 weeks and this coming Monday will be 4 weeks. I emailed them today and found out it's still not done, but that it will definitely be completed by the end of next week. So I get to see it soon, yay!

The bummer part is that me and my bf are moving from AZ to CO at the end of this month, so I know he's going to wait until we move and are more settled in CO. We've only been there a couple times and I'm sure it will take him a bit to figure out where he wants to propose. However, we've been together a long time and he's been wanting to get married for a few years now so we openly talk about all things proposal and wedding. I'm actually booking the wedding location and flights next week.

Honestly, I've been distracted from the proposal by the impending move and some major dental issues I'm going through right now. I just want to be moved and have my ring (and have my teeth fixed )!

O why the move rom AZ to CO and what part of AZ?Also, what part of CO? My father was from AZ and i would go every summer. We are going in September to viist his grave.
