The LIW Small Talk Thread

BG --

Have you looked at preownedweddingdresses.com and oncewed?

They've got some nice looking stuff for great prices.

I came across a site with cheap wedding gowns. I was quite tempted. However, I want to be able to try the dress on and feel the material. Omg. I am so picky.

Nothing wrong with that :))

My current plan is to try stuff on and get an idea of styles & designers I like then look at preownedweddingdresses.com to see what I can find. If I find something there I like I want to find the same dress so I can see it and try it on in person.

The problem for me is that I LOVE the flowy, nice material, elegant look of some of the $$$$$$$ designers but only have a $ budget.

 I am like that too. That's why I should really look and try on more dresses. Hopefully I can get my dream dress with very little $. I am so excited to go with my FI.

There was an earthquake here this morning?!?!??

Just ran into the building management woman who told me that the shaking of the building is NOT the construction people.... it is aftershocks from this mornings earthquake.
(What???!??!!!)

She said it was about an hour ago. Something like a 4.5 and since then we've had aftershocks.

I didn't think much of the shaking. Figured it was the construction guys or a big pickup driving under the building.

Can't find anything online about it though so I don't know where she got her info.

How is everyone?

I've got a funny story if anyone is around...

Hey Too, ill take a funny story. Im back from the weekend, with no ring, but had a good weekend

okay, so i just back and read about everyone weekend, and OMG, it was a busy weekend for everyone.

Bg- wow thats a lot for the reception site, hopefully you find you site soon and start making payments. Also, those dresses are nice, its a good idea to go and try on something and than you can look for something preowned online. Hmmmmm, that such a good idea.

TOO- Did you head back from the Rabbi? Please keep me updated on you altnerate ceremony, and oddly, i really like that idea. it will be so intimate youll never forget it.

So Saturday i went to the mall with my mom, even though i didnt feel well. It was a nice drive, and i went and got my toes done. Saturday night C and i went out, but i was feel really bad so we went home early. He tucked me into bed. Sunday we got up, and head to a small town outside of the city. They were having an art festiveal, so that was fun, and we took the dogs. We went into a few antique shops, and i got a free candle! Im so happy about it. We ate lunch there with the doggies, and decided we went to go back and go shopping without them....lol. Sunday night we went to a chinese buffet for dinner and than went home and watched 80'S Videos for hours. Was so much fun. Monday we went out for lunch and than went and Matched the Monday Night football game, was a bad game for my team :nono: ......than i stayed with him last night, we got up and made breakfast together this morning. :lickout: No Ring this weekend, but it was still a good weekend. Im learning to live in the moments and not obess over when it will happen. O and we decided to have a halloween party  which means i get to make some halloween decor!

Good weekend is nice. How'd your picnic & shopping go?

So... my funny story is a bit strange but....

FI has this bad habit of walking through the house in his bathrobe (early morning, just out of bed) and well... letting everything hang out. I try to keep the blinds closed if he's going to be just waking up or taking a bath so that the neighbors don't get to see... everything. I've asked him repeatedly to USE THE ROBE TIE and CLOSE the blinds BEFORE getting undressed.
Well....
Friday evening we went to a dinner and I was stressed with school work and cooking a dish to bring and running late. So FI walks into the livingroom in his bathrobe (and JUST the bathrobe) to grab something he needed and went back to the bedroom to change. I headed to the bedroom too because I needed something not covered in flour from baking. I got in there and the window is wide open (and several houses are EASILY able to see right in) and FI drops the robe. I shut the blinds real quick and tell him to "shut the d*** window BEFORE changing clothes!" (he had to strip out of his clothes and put the robe on right in front of that window even before he dropped the robe).
Well... FI thinks I'm making a big deal of nothing and he doesn't see what my problem is since the blinds are shut now (now that he's dressed  )
So.... that was the last straw for me. I just had too much stress and that did it ---

I stripped down completely naked, pulled the blinds up, and shook my body for all to see

Obviously I was too stressed...
Luckily the neighbors don't seem to have seen anything

FI has been careful to use a robe tie and close blinds the last couple of days though

Sounds like a wonderful weekend!

I'm sorry you were sick but nothing helps that more than being tucked in

LOL    ...I LOVE it TOO, i really do. I bet he doesnt do that again.

I'm thinking a lot clearer since I caught up on my sleep yesterday.

Talk about shock....
You should've seen how fast he moved to shut the blinds

I bet he will think twice about just letting his robe fly free from now onw, espicalyl when your home. I swear, men dont think some days

I've got pumpkins at home that I need to roast so I can make pies.

Mmmmmmm.

Im not a fan of pumkpin pie, but since the bf and i are gonna have a halloween party, ill get to carve one this year....YAY

I don't like it very much either... most of the time. Too..... I don't know.... mushy??

I find that I like them much better when I make them completely from scratch and increase the spices. It also helps when I ever so slightly "over-cook" the pie -- a lot firmer and less slimy.

The yummy way to eat it is baked in a casserole dish with NO crust (Grandma calls this "pumpkin pudding") so that it is pretty firm all the way through.

FI loves them though and they're a lot healthier than pecan pie.

Its funny C loves Pumpkin pie, and i grew up eating sweet potatoe pie. Its so yummy to me.....i make em from scratch, but they arent as good as my moms. Hmmmmmmm, they are like candy when they are cold....OMG....im supposed to be making Halloween Decor, but i might be making pie tongiht after school, so not good. Im on a diet.

Too: your story is very funny. I am sure it was very annoying for you.

Jessie: I was wondering if you were ok. You haven't been on for awhile. I don't like pumpkin pie too. Heehee

We are going to go with the Chinese restaurant. We will go there for dinner tomorrow night and talk about the detail and probably put down a deposit. I had two heart attacks yesterday listening to the $$$$$$$$ we need to pay for a western banquet.

I wonder where is Cali.

Thanks Bg, yeah im okay, much better, granted it still sounds like im in a long tunnel, but im way better. We had such a fun weekend, and talked about if ever we come into big money how we want to have a flat in New Orleans, and a summer home in Canada. LoL....hopefully the deposit wont be that much for the chinese resturant.

I am glad you are better. Summer home in canada, huh? Where in canada? :naughty: the deposit is only $500. Dinner is $568 + tax for a table of 10ppl. That's it, no extra fee, no rental fee.

MMmmmmm..... Sweet potato pie! Now that I like!

I just looked at "pumpkin pie" on Spark People -- not bad!
1 piece is about 200 calories, not much fat, some protein, vitamins...
The big downside is the sugar, but I usually reduce the sugar anyway (by about 1/2).

So.... it's almost a health food! (and I'm sure sweet potato is pretty close to this)

O good Bg, thats rather cheap compared to most places, and you parents going there means the food most be super yummy. LoL....actually Vanqcouer i think......or B.C

We are going to the restaurant for dinner tomorrow. We checked out other Chinese restaurants. They aren't as good. This one, they include drinks and we can use the projector. They even let us bring out own alcohols with extra fees. Other places nothing is included, just dinner.

Summer home in Vancouver huh? Maybe you guys should check out places on Vancouver island, where we are going this weekend.

hmmmm, i would love it if we could have one. Theres days when i just want to run away...lol....

o, thats good they let you brin in your own liquor, a lot of places wont let you. Im so happy you found a location, and think you wont have to do too much decor.

OMG, so i had a dream this morning that C FINALLY proposed, it was a antique ring( Looked like his mom's) andit was so big todo. It was rather boring, but we were happy. Than i decided to go gown shopping, and before i left C told me to watch my budget. Well i didnt in the dream at first, but than i decided to get a gown made at shop that was cheap, and it was what i wanted and than i let C pick my reception dress and we had fun shopping. So weird, and than my dogs were in the dream, and my mom wanted me to buy a prom dress....so weird

I hope your dream is a good sign. :naughty: my FI just asked if I will look at wedding dresses. I don't want to, but i need to do it soon since I am so picky.

You should so look at dresses. Besides the whole Marriage part, the dress is one of my favorite part, along witht he cake  ....but you should....it takes 6 to 8 months for you to get your dress in, and you need about 2 to 3 weeks for alterations...

Sigh. I know. The reason i don't want to go is because i don't think I will find something i Ike for the price I want to pay. I am cheap. two more teaching days and then vacation! Yeah!

*sigh* I wish i was going on vacation, but it doesnt look like it will happen anytime soon :((

Awww... Hug! I wonder where is Cali. It has been really slow here. How's school?
