I've been lagging and I meant to update you on my dress shopping experience. They didn't have the dress you liked in stock, but I did try on "joyous" by Kenneth Pool, which is similar.. I really really liked it. It was priced at $4,750, but they said if I bought it that day they'd give me the trunk show discount of 12%. If my mom had been there I may have bought a dress, but I couldn't do that to her. I tried on one other KP dress "happiness" and it was $4,950 and gorgeous..

Overall, I was disappointed with their Kenneth Pool selection. Especially because they always brag about how many dresses they have.. Good luck dress shopping. I'll have to check back in this thread more often!

Too- Hey, what did the rabbi say, been wondering.

What i do when im not in school is just hang around the house, and do homework. Been looking for a part time job too, OH! and doing like house cleaning and decor stuff. I actually like not working right now, and just going to school, ive never not worked. I had my first job at 14, and every summer after that until i hit 17 and than started working during the school year, and its been that way since.

Not much going on here.... well.... not much but a lot.

I've been a bit distracted by the drama in my office this week (One of the guys I work for had to file a restraining order against his own daughter (she's 39) after she called the police and falsly accused him of abuse. There was some pretty big concern for physical safety as she's "friends" with a bunch of drug using, gun stealing, thugs. She's also 4 months pregnant -- the baby's father is a "former" drug-dealer . Luckily she got picked up on a warrant for skipping (another) court date.). On top of all that, the guy who's dealing with all that has already had half a dozen heart attacks and surgeries and has had to have the paramedics out a few times the last couple of weeks and emergency appointments with his cardiologist.

So all this prompted me to put a rush on my concealed holster and extra magazines (which took a bunch of time and phone calls to special order). (I wonder if I can take all this as a business deduction on my taxes since I need it for my protection at work )


Calculus is still going.... another quiz on Friday.
Computer Programming -- need to finish reading a chapter today plus do 3 of the programming exercises. Then have a quiz/test that has to be done by Sunday.

Baby shower -- Maybe this Friday? Maybe end of October? Maybe December? I might be baking the cake. Might not. - There is a main organizer and a few "helpers" and trying to set the thing up on a date that works for people.... (shower for a couple in our dinner group -- her due date is 11/25)


Okay.... I guess that is a fair amount going on. I haven't had a chance to talk to the rabbi. The office is only open Tues - Thurs (maybe a couple of hours Friday???) from 9:00 (but no phones answered until 10:00 ) to 4:00 so I've got to call from work but don't want to talk about it at my desk where the guys can hear me. So I should call on my cellphone..... or not -- the stupid thing has started to overheat if I talk on it for more than 5 minutes (sometimes less) and then drops the call. (usually right about the time I've finally gotten transferred to the person I need to talk to )

O wow Too, that is a whole bunch going on at one time, but dont put off talking to the Rabbi, your wedding is more imporant than the jerks who will over hear you!

Ahhhhh, sorry I haven't been around ladies! Seems like I've missed all your wedding planning updates, Too. I hope your new plan works out and that you can get married so soon.

So the reason I've been MIA is because our new company officially launched this monday and we have been working our butts off to get everything up and ready. Things are going really well so I'm happy about that. Plus, I tried to cook dinner on monday night and when I set the chicken in the pan, all the hot oil splashed up onto my wrist. I've got some pretty bad burns and I've been trying to keep ointment on them, thus making it difficult to type on my laptop without getting the goo everywhere.

Congrats about booking your banquet tonight BG! That's such a big booking and I'm sure that will be a load off your mind. Have you seen any other dresses you like? I hunted down the listing for that chiffon one you posted and noticed it was a maggie sottero, who I never checked out before. She has a few dresses I liked, so thanks for the help! And have a safe trip this weekend, I'm sure it will be beautiful there!

Jessie - glad you're getting to enjoy yourself for a bit. You deserve a little break with all your school anyways, so take advantage of all your free time. Oh, and I love the engagement dreams. I've been having kooky wedding ones, but I'm a nut.

I know I won't be around too much for the next few days, so don't forget about me! I'm not leaving you guys, just really busy unfortunately. I definitely prefer hanging out here.

woohoo! We put down the $500 deposit for our wedding banquet. Since my parents know the manager there for like... almost 17 years. He gave us LOTS of free stuff.

1. unlimited soft drinks. He said we can drink 'til we drop.
2. we can bring our own alcohol, or they can help us buy them (no extra fee). No extra fee for opening the bottles. (usually $10 per wine)
3. it includes decorations and center piece (a pink rose) for each table.
4. they have the 12% tax if we pay half of the total payment in cash.
5. no extra fees on cutting cake, projector/music.

YEAH!!!!

Just when I thought we got the BIG thing off our shoulder... my dad called from HK and asked us to pick a date for the HK banquet. He is giving us 1 day to decide. I need to tell him by tomorrow night the LATEST, since my FI and I are going to be away for the weekend.

I told my FI to think about the dates. My dad asked us to pick one of these days: aug 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 31. Then my dad will look at restaurants. I understand why he wants to know now because he needs to book restaurant and stuff. Our plan is to leave for hk soon after our banquet in canada, so we are still in the wedding mood. After the banquet in hk, we will go to our honeymoon.

Yeah. Banquet and ceremony venues are booked! Now, photographer will be our next task. We are going to a wedding show in nov. My FI agrees, because it's FREE!!!! omg sample sale tomorrow. I am so excited.

This is the new cell phone.... had it for just a couple of months.

If it still does it after a reboot I think I'm going to have to call tech support. I just don't want them to have me ship it back for service and be without a cell phone for a couple of weeks

Im an okay, trying to not have a SERIOUS case of LIWits....just found out a freind from high school got engaged...thats the 2nd thats the second on this week. I was gonna talk to C about our timeline today, but when i spoke to him this morning, he was stressed out about money, my car is in the shop, and its costing us 450 bucks to fix, he has to pay the house payment on his house and his mom's, his friend hasnt given him rent yet, and thanwe have other expenses because of the sick dog. Listening to him stress about it, made it impossible for me to voice my concern about our timeline, another day than.

O, i wish it was getting cold here, the weekend is suppose to be in the high 80's, but lows in the 50's, i cant wait till it just drops and we dont get over 60 or 50 during the day. I wanna pull out my sweaters and scarfs.

Got a 1-year (2-year?) warranty so I can if I have too. It might be as simple as them shipping me a new battery. I'm just afraid it will be worse and I'll be without a cell phone for a week or two.

Don't stress yourself. He'll ask you soon and you'll know that when he does it was the right time for YOU. I know it is hard to wait and no matter how many people say that "you'll miss this time later" it doesn't make it any easier.

Any chance the one is pregnant? 1 month is awfully quick to plan a wedding. (or maybe she knows next year will be full of weddings with your other friend and you and doesn't want to get the wedding schedule too full for everyone?)

Well her family( Not My Side) is very strict and devout Catholics, and i think they are going away to College together and want to live together, and love each other so thats the rush there. Everyone is thinking maybe she is pregnant, and maybe she is, and just not telling anyone, but i think its the moving part. I told C this morning, and just went kind of quiet, and he did too. I didnt want to bring it up, when i think money is the issue, but it still hurts. Im trying to be a patient as possible, i really am. *Sigh* Maybe i need that book, why Men marry bitches

I went to the bookstore with my FI last week. I was looking at the books you were talking about "why men loves bitches" and "why men marry bitches." My FI looked at the books I was reading, he was like "that's so not true."
