Congrats Jessie how exciting!! I know exactly how you feel because we just finalised my stone yay!!! Ahhhh so exciting! Cannot wait to go to the jeweller so I can get the process rolling. SO said don't think cause we've got it I am just going to give it to you, I might wake up in a week or 6 months and go today is the day so I don't know when or whatever but yay!!!!!!

I definitely want 6 prongs and I always wanted like a pave band. Do you think 2mm for the band for a 4ct RB will be ok?

Otherwise what sort of pave should I have? I am not sure of all the options but I do like the look of the fishtail.

Sorry... No clue why one or another is "better" or not. Just from appearance I think I like the fishtail best but that is just from pictures so I can't really say.

I'd suggest you look at them in person and get an idea of what would be best for you. One thing to look at is how far they stick out -- they'll grab cat fur and stuff if they stick out too far or are shaped just right.

I would say you should look at them in person and try them on. Sometimes its best to try the ring on before buying it because you never know if you will like it on your finger.

I am, not much to say. Kinda depressed. Today is K's 30th birthday. I'm not happy with the conversation we had on Saturday at dinner. I may be over analyzing along with PMSing since my annoying friend is in town.

Hey girls!! :hiya: I'm totally irritated. My little boy is having eye muscle surgery on Friday (supposedly Friday morning) and we've been waiting for this surgery for 3 months. I got a call today (they left me a message) that he's to have no food or drink after 5 am. Umm...ok...the boy goes to bed at 7:30 am and he gets up at 7am. So am i supposed to wake him up at 5am and make him eat? Or just let him starve until his surgery?! Seriously he's 4 years old!! I'm so fricking irritated.

i would be irrarted too beesha, but maybe wait until after the surgery for him to eat. Maybe give him so ice chips, but maybe make them in a flavor for him. The reason they do it, is because of the anesthisa( Spelling), is because it might make him sick if theres something on his stomach, and make things complicated. I know it sucks, and its hard to tell you 4 year old son, who doesnt understand, but its better to be safe, and him be hungry than for him to possibly have a complicated surgery. My mother knows of a woman who was pregnant, ate before going to see her doctor, saw the doctor, went into labor, they had to do a C-section, well the sleepy meds, made her sick, and she started vomiting, and died on the operating table because she couldnt believe.

It may be best to not wake him up at 5 am to eat. I'd also be careful about ice chips. No food or liquids! I would feed him dinner as late as you can manage. They will make sure he gets all the nutrients he needs at the hospital. If you are worried, talk to your doctor, he is the best person to get advice from, especially if he knows that surgeries tend to get bumped back a couple hours at his hospital!

I am waiting for people to come fix the oven, and as soon as they come I'm off to work ASAP. For now I'm updating my engagement ring ideas folder. Lots of three stones with either round or pear side stones, but also a couple of channel set eternity rings. I used to keep it a bit hidden on the computer, but the SO has been talking engagement rings a lot recently, so I want it ready next time it comes up so I can show him.

I'm having fun, but I need to get to work!

I can't imagine not feeding a 4 year old

What does your doctor suggest? Does he suggest waking up early and having him fed but tired or does he think its better to have hungry?

Normally, i cant write paper until last minute, but i had another paper, same class, due on tuesday and the final is today. I couldnt make myself do the final paper after the last one, my brain was so dead.

Ovens....

I had to replace mine not long ago (just a couple of months ago?). There are some great deals out there if you look and are a bit flexible. We replaced our "drop-in" with a freestanding. It meant cutting the little strip of counter from behind the stove, but it wasn't bad. We were able to get an oven for $350 instead of $1300+ by making that change. And my oven is bigger inside!

I'm tired but doing pretty good. I was pretty depressed yesterday but today has started with good music and a yummy apple cider so its going a lot better.

Calculus quiz tomorrow. Programming homework due Sunday. Calculus final Monday. Programming final ????? (he hasn't decided yet)

11/30- 3rd english paper
12/2- final english paper, Math Exam
12/4- Math Final( Yes, its a saturda)
12/7- Astrology Final, English Final
12/10- Psy Final.


Seriously, i keep telling myself just one mroe week.....why were you depressed?

Thanks for the sympathy Jessie and Too. The issue is LIWitis and I hate that he has a list of reasons/excuses as to why he's not ready yet, he doesn't think we're ready yet (we need to be together longer, experience more together) but then he says he's never felt this way before in a relationship and how great it is. We talk about when we have kids what they'll be like etc and it's all frustrating and confusing to me. Since he won't budge on his timeline (about another 1.5 years or so) and I'd be much happier with less that a year from now i.e. By my 30th birthday, I don't want to discuss this subject anymore because we won't resolve anything. So I told him that I don't want to discuss it for that reason and basically he needs more time and I'll give him more time but I can't guarantee that he'll have all the time he wants and if I get to the point where I can't do it anymore, I'll let him know.


Beesha: I hope all goes well with the surgery.

I feel like Cali and BG haven't posted in awhile.

We got a wedding invitation from one of B's coworkers. (can't go since it is in India -- in 2 weeks). He got engaged the end of October (oct 21) and is getting married December 12. (not upset to miss, I've never even met the guy... It's just frustrating that they can plan an elaborate engagement party & wedding in under 3 months and we've been engaged for 9 months now and haven't managed to get anything done)

I'm at a standstill with wedding planning. Nothing is going right. Can't even pick a new date. Finances stink. I'm tempted to suggest (okay... I did suggest) that we skip the whole thing and just sign the papers already and be done with it. B said he doesn't want that and he knows I don't either.

The weather isn't helping -- gray, cloudy, rainy, dark, wet, dark, rainy...

I'm glad you were clear with him though, that's really important. How long have you two been together?

ETA, Just checked your intro post. My SO is also in med school. It pretty much dictates our schedule for everything! Not getting married til he has graduated, not having kids til he is done his residency. It can be frustrating!

Awwww, Too, i am so sorry hon. I know about money sucking, im a unemployed college student with a car that breask down every 3 months, but you cant let that depress you. A lot of people are in the same situation, or even worse. Is it at all possible for you two, to have a small private wedding with close family and friends, maybe have light lunch and than a little later do a " we got married, lets celebrate" reception? Its not ideal, espically for someone people, but if it will save you money, and stress, and you will be married, maybe its a thought. You can still have and wear a gown, and than wear it again a little later. Also, that might give you a chance find a more affordable recepion location, and save a litte money.

AE -- I'm sorry to hear that but glad you were open with him. He needs to understand how you feel too. I know it is hard (I waited for just shy of 6 years!) but try to focus on the other parts of your life -- house improvements, doing stuff together, take classes to learn something new, find a new hobby ( either just you or something you can do together), learn to cook food from around the world, etc.

I'm just trying to take it one thing at a time. We've got a lot of pending stuff that would make life a lot easier, less stressful, less cluttered, and MIGHT mean that we could afford to do the wedding next summer as planned (but still on a different day because of the scheduling conflict).

There is just SOOoooo much up in the air right now.

Maebelle it is so annoying. If he were just in med school he would have finished earlier this year I think. He only has 1 part of his boards to take to be finished with med school, he's writing and researching for his dissertation now and working on starting his charter school. I wonder of he realizes that once he finishes school he still has other things to do like residency or more research in his field (genetic engineering) so I don't get how much time he thinks he'll have when he's finished.

Too: I have so much going on in my own life and career that I don't have the time or energy for most of that right now. I at least read several if not 100+ books a year, I get to travel and spend a lot of time with my mom and sister. My mom just went back to school at 50 to finish her bachelors degree and possibly her masters while working full time as well.I wish I had her energy.
