hmm. i would complain about humidity. but that would have to be valid with actually caring about my hair. i''m pretty sure i haven''t even brushed it yet.

Bia, the farmers market sounds good! We''re going to play tourist this weekend and go to pikes place market since my foot is pretty much healed. maybe even do the underground ghost/walking tour. or ride the DUCK!!

I''m common, it goes in water and they give you duck lips to honk at people.

You can''t possibly hate humidity more than me and my hair. My hair curls just thinking about humid weather.

In fact, I, like dumb*$$, spent time blow drying my bangs this morning. By the time I got to work they were pinned up in a bobby pin...

highly annoying.
29.gif
Hahaha. I hate that. I''m the same way.

FF is not allowed to shower directly after I shower, other wise when I have to blowdry my hair, the bathroom will be too steamy without enough time to air out.

We need 2 bathrooms. Srsly.

Same here. In the winter, when I am blowdrying my hair, I open all the windows in the bedroom because the heat is always blasting in our place. FI thinks I am a lunatic. But if I get at all hot, it''s over. All that hard work for nothing!

They think we''re crazy but there is serious logic behind what we do.

Hahahha!

FF thinks the same when its 65 out, but humid, and I force him to close all the windows and turn the A/C on so I can blowdry my hair.

B, I think we''re long lost twins.

oh my.

you too just need to move to the northwest!

I had a dream last night that I had a baby.

FF and I had no clothes, diapers, car seat, crib... anything like that.

I kept telling him to watch the baby so I could go to the store to get supplies. He was like "lets just go together and bring the baby"

I said "We can''t, we don''t have a car seat!"

So I gave him the baby, and he kept propping it up against the wall and then not watching it, then the baby would tip over and fall on the ground, and I''d yell at him that he''s going to hurt the baby. He apologized, and then it happened again. I could never end up getting anything for the baby because I couldn''t take the baby in the car without a carseat, and I couldn''t trust FF to take care of him.

It was weird.

So since I am hungry (yes I had breakfast!) I am wondering about lunch, already. AND, it''s only 10:25.

So what did you guys bring (or are you getting) for lunch?

I brought a turkey wrap (jalenpeno flavored wrap with turkey, lettuce, tomato, bean sprouts for crunch--trying to be healthy--and a teeny bit of mayo). I also have a berry yogurt with a little bag of almonds to mix in. Thats it (wrap is sort of on the small side). I kind of want something else, but I know I should make the healthy choice. Being healthy sucks sometimes

Mmm... that sounds awesome!

I had (high fiber!) oatmeal for breakfast. I''ll probably have turkey sandwich for lunch, and some protein water for a snack.

Trippy.

Out of curiosity, have you ever seen him with a baby/kids? Is he the kid type or totally anti-kids? Have you been thinking about having a baby recently? Maybe someone you know is pregnant. I can''t remember what dreaming of a baby means in my Spanish folklore-ish-dream-guide-book.

Remember I took a melatonin last night Elle? Well, everytime I take one of those pills I have the craziest, most vivid dreams. Last night I dreamt that I was Johnny Depp''s character in the Ninth Gate (but I was me). Running around looking for this crazy book. I''m not surprised because I watched the movie a few days ago before bed, but it was sooooo weird. Ordinarily it would be sort of scary, but it wasn''t. It was just bizarro.

FF is terrified of babies. He doesnt know what to do with them. He''s never held a baby, or changed a diaper. He does really well with my nieces (they are older, between 3 and 10). FF never wanted kids before me, really. But now he talks all the time about how excited he is to have a little girl someday. It''s cute. I want a kid, but no clock in me is "ticking" and I''m happy to wait. I want a puppy!

LOL. That dream sounds awesome. I love crazy vivid dreams. They''re so funny. Now I want to take some melatonin tonight.

Elle - Crazy dream! I hate dreams like that, were you feel like you cannot make anything right.

Bia - I am having homemade turkey salad sammich for lunch. E made this awesome NC mustard sauce, so i cooked my turkey in it, and mixed it up with an egg salad mix. Oh and i will be having it on Naan. Not the healthiest, but yummy enough!

Interesting. Maybe since you've been talking about it lately, that's why your mind is going there while you sleep. Get a puppy Elle, that would be a great way to see how well your FF takes care of something else *(you have cats too, but dogs take a little more one-on-one care, imo). A dog is no baby but still, I could tell a lot about my FI's parenting skills after we got our pup. However, I think a lot of guys are a little trepedatious around very young babies. His sister had a baby last year and FI wasn't too keen on holding the baby until he got to about 9 months. Even then. Now that the baby is a year-old, FI feels much more comfortable holding the baby and playing with him.

*eta

i agree! E had NOOOOO desire to hold my bff (yeah, i said it) ''s baby, until just recently where he is now almost a year old. I think he was just a little timid of something so tiny.

I had an old boyf who had to old a baby once.. he held it away from him like it was radioactive

Sounds yummy! I love chicken/turkey/tuna/salmon salad. Really anything you can drench in mayo lol

I would probably really like Seattle actually. I love hippies! LOL I''m just too much of a Northeasterner, you know? I''m sure a lot west coast people feel the same way. But from what I''ve seen of the Northwest (Northern Cali, Oregon and Washington) it is beautiful and raw and really spectacular. Especially since I like being outdoors.

Bia-I''ve never been to a farmer''s market.. they sounds so yummy though with all of the fruit.. There''s one down the street from me but I never think about it! And lunch is a spinach salad with tomatoes and a hard-boiled egg.. plus some cheese or yogurt.

Elle-That''s a crazy dream.. poor baby.. but I could so see a guy doing that!! My BF is scared to death of babies too.. all of my friends are having them right now so I keep trying to get him to hold one and he is soo scared. I finally got him to hold one of them once when he was on a couch surrounded by pillows so the baby couldn''t go anywhere. He''s super clumsy too, so that doesn''t help!! Nothing is ticking here either, but puppies are great.

I''m going to more baseball games this weekend then I''ve been to in about three years.. Plus two concerts.. and a wedding shower.. and lunch with an old friend. I''m glad I''m not working for once

I''ve been trying to convince FF to consider the Pac NW. He''s... not really sold.

If maybe we could just spend a few days out there, he might dig it.

Plus I''m anxious to move since the job search here in good old MI is just not looking good....

B, we would get a puppy if we had room. We have 2 cats and a bird, and a 1 bedroom apartment. Once we buy a house, we''re getting a puppy. We can''t wait.

SParkly/Jcar...

He just doesn''t think babies are cute. Yes, he''ll love our future babies, but otherwise they''re just large alien-looking potato sacks to him. So why would he want to hold it? Just doesn''t make sense to him.

We have some greart farmer''s markets here in NY. The one we go to is in Westchester Country and it is wonderful. They have an abundance of fruit but they also have fresh vegetables, great bread selections, jams, freshly made pies, beautiful wild flowers (which I can''t buy because my allergies go nuts!
39.gif
), fresh all-natural/hormone free meat/poultry, and non-homogonized milk/yogurt and cheeses galore. It''s all outside and it''s just a nice afternoon. We bring the pup and she''s usually a hit LOL.

Definitely check them out in your area. Plus, produce is much cheaper. At least it is here.

That could be a deal breaker. We'd love to live somewhere that we don't need cars. We spend, between the two of us, 700/month just for us to have cars. Not including gas. Ridiculous.
20.gif

Elle-I think most guys think babies look kinf of funny.. I mean their heads are all out of shape.. They are all mushy just kind of lay there at first.. I''ve always worked with babies so I think they are cute, but I totally get it when people say they are funny looking.. Especially premies.. they have alien-like qualities but I think it''s cute.. Ok maybe I''m weird :) Plus the crying throws guys off I think.. Just like when we cry..They just want to "fix it"

Bia-That sounds like fun! The one here has flowers too.. Ok I definitely need to go soon!

eww. i think i just puked a little in my mouth.

yeah. we live on the eastside (east of the main lake in the seattle area) so for us, we have to have a car. i want to move to D/T kirkland (still eastside) so at least we can walk to everything we need within reason. Seattle is not so bad, the bus system is a lot better (read, at least more routes). Although they are pushing to get a sounder train from the eastside to seattle, so that would be nice.

LOVED JEM! "Truly truly truly outrageous!" remember that? lol Thundercats was good too. Smurfs, Chip and Dale''s Rescue Rangers, Ducktales...list goes on.

Not a cartoon but do you remember "Are you afraid of the Dark" on Snick (Saturday night)? I loved that!

The cartoons now are so weird and high tech. blech.

omg i loved those books too! and tv shows totally scared the poop outta me. i would watch them in my parents bed.
eta - do you remember the espisode(s) with the ventriliquist doll? that was the creepiest. Any of the shows with dolls in them - only becuase i had a shelf above my bed lined with old fashioned dolls, that once my cat knocked over one and landed on me in the middle of my sleep. I am pretty sure the doll was trying to kill me.
Snick... totally miss that!!!

so i've had like 5 cups of coffee already...

i'm a bit wired.
