The Official TTC Thread!

Bella The month that I got proper CF life you describe was the month I got KTFU! fingers crossed for you!

Ryan Claire - Whatever you choose to do, I'm thinking lots of positive thoughts for you!

Thanks brightlight! Right back at you!
9.gif

Geri, I am very sorry to hear about your multiple losses. I can only imagine how tough it is. I am so glad to hear that you are being checked out and will be seeing specialists. I am sure that they will be able to find some answers and hopefully some very quick solutions.

I will be thinking of you.
35.gif

Geri - I am so sorry for your losses. I will be keeping you in my thoughts.

Po - I was so sad to read that the champagne went back into the fridge. Maybe a month of is a good thing, let your spirit rejuvenate a bit.

DC - so disappointing. I am so sad to hear of your false positive.

I am still CD30something. I haven''t been really great about charting because it was frustrating me. I didn''t want to start stressing myself out and delay AF''s arrival even more. I did test on Thursday but got a BFN which I expected. What I did not expect was bountiful EWCM the following day, and the day after that...so my body is certainly entertaining me with its indecisiveness. It''s all par for the course when you are trying to re-regulate I suppose. I will just let it do what it needs to and continue to enjoy all the bonus BD time DH and I have in the absence of AF
11.gif

Geri--I''m so sorry to hear about these losses. That took courage to post, much less stick around here. Thanks for updating us so we can support you. I hope you guys find solutions soon. Big hugs in the meantime.

geri- so sorry you''re going through this. it breaks my heart to hear of multiple losses, but i am convinced for you they will find a reason. or, on the flip side, they will find that nothing truly is wrong, and you''ve unforuntely been victim of poor circumstance and will go on to have a wonderful healthy baby. best of luck with the testing.

dc- dear, i''m so sorry about the faulty BFP. that''s crap, and so stressful. if it was a chemical pregnancy, it might take a bit longer for AF to show up, just because she might have gotten a little confused (she isn''t always the smartest...let''s be honest). you guys are champions of the BD (seriously could consider dancing with the stars) so i''m SURE it will be super soon you get the REAL BFP.

smurphy- i''d also just echo to relax on the symptoms. when i got pg, i was CONVINCED the symptoms i had were bc AF was coming, not because i was preggo. in all honesty, i think that helped me stay relaxed and i didn''t read into anything. and by the time i found out i WAS pg, it was great since i was already at 5 weeks!

bella- i use a diva cup, so i understand a bit about how the insteads work...yes, bearing down helps get it outta there. i''ll be honest, i love the after work DTD as well.
31.gif
and my hubby knows it. i''m much more "alert" and we both have more fun when we get the chance to really "get into it!" hahah- so i''m totally with ya there! i''m so glad you guys are getting onto a better BD schedule and that his SA is getting worked out. it doesn''t matter how you get to the finish line, as long as you get there!

RC- hugs and best of luck. i think i''d also be impatient and go for the provera and clomid now. it''s not gonna hurt, and usually, once you get established with a doc, you''ll get in much easier from here on out. so that means if you don''t end up preggo, you''ll hopefully get in quicker with the RE for the next appt (although i hope you dont need a next appt!!)

lily- i''m excited to see you over here!

PO- oh hun, i''m sorry. it is just so difficult to go through all of the ups and downs, since the highs are SO high, but the lows are SO low in the world of TTC. enjoy that champagne (i love champagne) and know that the good news is that you ARE able to conceive....there really is a silver lining. big hugs. pma is my mom''s FAVORITE saying.

amandine- haha- i''m like your husband. i''m super excited about the whole TTC thing, but its still weird to think about BDing without protection. DH on the other hand is like, "i like to gamble! this is great!" - nothing really has changed for him since i''ve been on the pill for a long time, so he doesn''t really notice the "difference" but in my mind, i''m thinking, "um, HELLOOOO...there is no real reason we CAN''T get pregnant now!" i''m hoping for you that this is the month and you''re our newest jerkstore!

BL- it can be overwhelming! horomones are a b*$ch! let yourself cry and get frustrated and overjoyed all at the same time!

_____________________
Thank you all for the welcome back. AF is a freaking DIVA and wanted to return in some grand fashion. TMI- but i cannot remember the last time i''ve had such a heavy period. not too terrible on the cramps front, but lots of clotting and heavy flow. as DH said, "the system must be cleaning itself out." anyone else who has had a d&c experience a really heavy period once AF made her way back into town? i''m happy i didn''t have to wait a really long time. i grew up in a house full of women, and we all would cycle with each other, and now i work with a ton of women, and we also cycle with each other. i think that''s part of the reason she didn''t take too long, since i''m susceptible to getting my period around others.

Steal - good luck this cycle!! You never know, you may have had better timing than you think!!
9.gif

KeepingTheFaith - yeah, stress is no good. I have seen several examples where women decide to relax and stop stressing so much about TTC, and THAT is the month they get pregnant. Go figure. :) I''m glad you and DH are at least taking advantage of your AF-free time while you await her arrival!!
9.gif

RyanClaire - I''m glad you''re finally getting some guidance to move forward. I have not seen an RE, so I don''t know what they typically prefer for you to do...so I''m not 100% sure how to advise you re: whether to take the provera and clomid or whether to wait. However, I will say that if it were me, I''d probably take the meds so that I had a chance at conceiving as soon as possible. I''m sure plenty of women show up to the RE having already tried at least something with their OB...so I don''t think it would be out of the ordinary for you to have already started Clomid. It is cool that you''d be on vacay during the fertile window....we have several vacation babies in recent history around here!
9.gif
I don''t know that the info the RE would get from having you off all meds would be so much more helpful than seeing what happens with you on meds....does that make sense? Of course, it''s all up to you, neither answer is the wrong answer.
9.gif

Bella - YAAAAY for fountains of fertile EWCF!!!
36.gif
36.gif
36.gif
I hope your after-work rendezvous went well!! I have a really good feeling about you this cycle!!
9.gif

Smurfy - I do have one of those permanent retainers behind my bottom teeth, but never had my mouth taste metallic-y from it. Maybe it''s an AF side effect? Sorry she''s being so mean to you.
38.gif

dcgator - I hope AF hurried up and came for you. Don''t be embarassed about taking another HPT...I would have done the same! I hope you are enjoying a lovely, adult-beverage-filled weekend with your hubby!!

super quick drive by but thank you all so much for the good wishes:-)

FF changed my ovulation date b/c of the aforementioned fountains of EWCF the blazing OPK positive I got yesterday (I don''t like these Amazon OPKs as much as the Answer ones I had before, the Amazon ones are really hard to read).

So... by the new O date we BD O-2 (with Instead and preseed), O-1 (with preseed), and we''re shooting for today and/or tomorrow too! not a giant marathon, but by far the best we have ever had

I told DH at this point, I don''t even care so much if we get pregnant this cycle (though of course I do!), my main goal is just to get FF to say "high" as our timing analyzer score

That is wonderful timing Bella! Even if that is all you do, I think you have done the best to do what you can, and the rest is just out of your control!

thanks DD

So, I am officially 1 DPO:-)

Great timing Bella!

Best of luck.

***
Geri,

Hugs to you, lady. I can''t begin to imagine the drama and stress and hurt you''re feeling, but I am thinking of you and hoping you get answers soon. I had a dear friend go through a similar situation, easily got pregnant, but lost the babies. She had testing and while they found no *answers,* she went on to have three kiddos. They''re adorable. She said the hardest thing for her was getting attached to the babies before birth, because of the previous loses, but the heartbeat helped her out a lot with that. Thoughts and love to you (and your hubs).

***
I''m going through one of my "off" phases with regard to thinking TTC, so I''ve not popped in here for weeks. I hope I didn''t miss any other pregnancies (I only did a quick scan...). I think of you all often, and remain excited and hopeful for each of us to exit left to the preggo thread.
9.gif

Lili, You''ve been on my mind a lot lately. I''m thinking of you and looking forward to good news soon! (I thought I found you on FB, based on your baby girl, but I couldn''t be sure so I didn''t ask to be your friend, but if you''re there, I will take the chance and see if it''s you!!).

Dreamer, good to see you back here leading the lost among us. (One of which I am!) You helped me *so* much when I first came aboard, and I''m thankful that you''re around to help us again. You''re awesome!

Bella, you totally hit your EWCM! Just think! Your DH's Phelps has totally romanced your eggie! They're heading down the fallopian tunnel of love! Doing the waltz. "No one puts Eggie in a corner!" Heehee. Eat your fresh pineapple + core! Woooohoooo! You could be KTFU in a few days so think happy thoughts and keep going on those refreshing walks!
36.gif
Way to go!

DUST to all the wonderful TTC ladies!

ETA: Fisher! So great to hear from you again! We miss you! Super hugs!!! Thank you!

I now present... Bella's Eggie and her DH's Phelps performing a number we like to call, "Goin' to Uteropia."

Fisher, thank you for the well wishes!! It''s great to see you! :) We''ve missed you around here. I hope all is well with you and your hubs.

Still sending baby dust your way!!!!

Aw, thanks everyone body!!!!!

We''re having fun thinking about the possibilities, but now DH is all like, what if we don''t get pregnant, and I am like welcome to my world buddy, glad you are finally actually thinking about this:-)
27.gif

But then I am nice, and I''m like, if we''re not pregnant this cycle, then we need to do it again next cycle b/c when ther say 6 months for the average person they mean 6 months of timing things like this...it''s like a light bulb has finally gone off for him:-) crazy DH:-)

Fisher!

Thankyou all so much for your kind words and support. The support means a lot to me and it also helps to have a safe place to vent. A couple of close friends know about this but no-one else and it can be a little lonely sometimes. It doesn’t help that we are in the middle of a baby boom here and since we are newlyweds and I am in my late thirties, quite a few people are making comments about when we are going to have kids. I am generally fine with it but every now and then something catches me off-guard and it’s all I can do not to cry.

Hudson – Thanks for your kind words. Wow, your mum is one courageous lady. Sometimes I’m ready to give up and then I hear stories like this and it gives me hope but also inspiration to know that there are women out there who have done it tougher than me but who still kept trying.

Houie – Thanks for your prayers. I’m trying to see the fact that we can conceive as a positive but I don’t know what to make of any of this anymore. We weren’t taking precautions for about 4 or 5 months initially and nothing happened even though we weren’t skipping the fertile periods but once we actively started trying with temping etc we conceived 3 out of the 4 months we tried. DH thinks it’s his “special forces” sperm (he is ex army). I’m just worried that we have burned our luck on the conception front now and are in for a long wait, even if they can find a way to fix any other problems. Time will tell I guess.

RyanClaire – Thanks for your thoughts. Good luck with your decision and I hope you have some luck with your RE.

Noel – I’m so pleased everything is going well for you this time. I’m sure you have a sticky little bean and I’ve been amazed by your positivity. I have my days when I want to give up but then I think, we’ve done it 3 times, we can do it again. Maybe it gets easier once your expectations are lowered? I don’t know. But we will see what the specialists say first before we make any decisions.

Bliss – Thankyou so much. I really do hope that we will get there and I think it will be even more special now for us if we do. Good luck for the upcoming U/S.

LV – Thankyou too. You also give me hope that when we least expect it ….. !!

Lanie – Thanks for popping back in. I'm so pleased everything is going well for you.

DCG – Thanks for your post. You are so right that it really does help to share this journey with others. On a side note, AF was only a day late for me when I had my chemical. Hope she shows up soon.

Bella – Thankyou also for your thoughts and yay for the BD timing! Fingers crossed for you!

Charbie – I’m glad AF has arrived, even if she is being a cow, and that you will soon be able to try again when you feel ready.

Fisher- Thanks for sharing about your friend. It is stories like this that give me some hope. I'm thinking of you also.

Lilyfoot, Puppmom, PlantationCatt, KTF, Brightlight, Steal, ChinaCat – Thankyou all for your kind words.

Now a specific question, does anyone know much about FSH levels? That is the only thing that has shown up on the testing so far that may be a problem. My level was within the “normal” range set by the pathology lab and my GP said for that reason that it was fine but when I google it, my levels sound borderline and may indicate diminished ovarian reserve. (This wouldn’t be a huge surprise since I’m 38). The problem is, I can’t find anything really scientific (but maybe I should stop looking and wait to speak to the specialist instead of freaking myself out with random information on the internet!!).

Wow, sorry everyone, that was a bit more of a download than I planned. Thanks for all your support. Lots of dust to all.

Charbie - just wanted to post to say my 1st period after the d&c was normal, but could also be that I don''t remember it badly because I was just so happy to be able to start TTC again. anyway, I remember reading that if it''s light or heavy, there is no normal. your body is just getting back into balance. my 2nd period was light and one of the ladies here (can''t remember if it was Brightlight or Catluver) said that a wonky period can often be the start of the conception cycle. and she was right! but hopefully this one will already be the cycle for you.

Ladies, can yall spare some TTC dust for my co-worker and his wife? They''ve been TTC for over two years now, and he confided in me last week (after me overhearing things a long long time ago...thin walls around here). They''ve had to go the route last week of external fertilization and they implanted (THREE!) eggs the 15th. They''ll know this Friday whether the implantation stuck.

Thanks!

Hey ladies,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! I got to see Brad Paisley and friends on Saturday, and for you country music fans, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the show when it comes by your town. It was Awesome
36.gif
! Anywho, to catch up with everybody:

Smurfy: Sorry about AF, I know how you feel
14.gif

Bella: That sounds so very promising about your CF and BD''ing schedules finally coming together!
36.gif
I hope that these 2 weeks fly by for you and that you get a very welcomed reward at the end of the 2WW
2.gif

Ryan Claire: I can''t really give you any advice on the RE and drug front, but it sounds like you got some good info/answers from the other ladies. I hope that you are able to make a more informed decision and either way, you will get some clarity in a couple weeks
1.gif

KTF: Thanks for thinking of me. It sounds like your body is being kinda annoying too
11.gif
. It hope it regulates it self better soon. But in the meantime, it sounds like you and your DH have the right idea
2.gif

Steal: Ah, I guess it happens, onward to better months now
21.gif
. Good for you for jumping into the deep end of the TTC pool. I hope that you are a jerkstore and get another kind of positve test in another couple weeks, but if not, enjoy the practicing
12.gif

Charbie: Hehe on the DWTS. I will let DH know we have at least one person to vote for us should they recruit us for the show,
3.gif
. I too hope that our BD''ing schedule will get us that BFP soon too. How is AF treating you? Hopefully its managable and you will be back on track in no time
2.gif

Houie: Ah yes, AF, what a big B*itch. She did decide she was ready to make her entrance, and in typical diva fashion, she did make quite an entrance. She had be doubled over in pain with cramps on Saturday morning. Oh well, at least the guess work is over. Now, its on to next month, so do you darndest AF, b/c I am going to try my best to keep you away next month!
27.gif
Btw, how are you feeling Miss soon-to-be mommy? You should be about 3 weeks now, right? I hope you bean is getting nice and comfy in there b/c it''s going to be at least 8 months till s/he can come out
2.gif

Fisher: Thanks for popping in to say hi
35.gif
. I hope that you enjoy your "off" time and we look forward to having you back whenever you would like to. Hopefully though, you can just skip right to the BP thread soon. Good luck!

Plantationcatt: Lots of sticky dust for your friends. I really hope that this procedure will finally bring them a LO.

Geri: Big (((HUG))) lady. This whole TTC business can get so tricky and I hear you on the people being so insensitive, though of course not on purpose. I think the whole "so when is the baby coming/are you pregnant yet/when are you going to have a baby" thing seems so harmless to most people, and even I admit to asking it once or twice to friends. But, once you struggle a bit or even worse, have a loss, it just seems like little daggars in your heart. At that party last weekend, if I heard one more person ask me about getting KU, (and I kid you not about 10 people asked) I swear I was going to hit someone!
29.gif
My favorite is when people tell you, "don''t worry about it, it will happen," especially when they had no problems getting KU. All I can say is just try to have some blanket response that kinda deflects the question firmly, like "we will let you know when we do" or " as soon as we do, you will be the first person we call". Hopefully people will get the message that you don''t want to talk about and that it''s none of thier business.
Either way, getting KU 3 of 4 months you have been trying is no small feat. I am 0 for 2 of active and 0 for 3 of passive right now (0 for 5 so far), so the being able to get KU is a definitely good sign. I think that the RE should be able to help at least give you some more guidance/advice and hopefully, there is some solution to your problem. I don''t think you have burned your luck, so just try to keep the faith. I have a feeling that you will get your LO soon. Just stay positive! Btw, I love the SF reference. My Dh is ex army too, and he is always so proud of his little army of men

*****
As for me, well, in her drama-filled fashion, AF showed up on Saturday, and she was p*ssed! I guess she heard I was trying to keep her away and she let me know that she wasn''t planning on going anywhere. Those cramps had me doubled over till the advil kicked in, wheh. Anyway, I am on CD3 now and ready to give AF a run for money. I am going to try my darndest to keep her away next month (shhh, don''t tell her). I hope that all you ladies who are in the middle of your BD''ing marathons enjoy and for those in the 2WW, lots of sticky dust!

just a vent...I didn''t bring enough for lunch (an arugula salad, small fage, and piece of laughing cow on Wasa does not a lunch make:-) esp not when breakfast was a handful of cereal...anyway...I got some taziki and red lentil dip with pita and a piece of baklava at my neighborhood greek place which usually has amazing baklava....but they must have used salt instead of sugar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost threw up after I took the bite. And I am so disappointed b/c I wanted baklava:-(

I saved my piece and will stop by on my way home from work to either get my $ back or to get a peice of baklava made with sugar...I''m sure there will be other angry customers

Hi all - I have been lurking on this board for awhile, but have decided to jump in! My husband and I have been TTC for about 6 months. We''re 27/28 and have been married for several years. It''s definitely taken awhile for my body to adjust to being off of birth control, but I''m hoping that things will be back to normal soon. This board has been such a great resource for information, along with TCOYF. I''m currently charting and used the CBE OPK''s this month for the first time.

I was wondering if any of you have any experience with late/delayed ovulation? I have experience some wonky cycles after birth control - 34 days, 86, 41, and now am currently on day 26. I got a positive OPK today. On this cycle and the previous one, I''m experiencing ovulation after day 25. I''ve read through most of this thread in the past but I cannot remember if I read about that too much or not.

I''m sure this will be something that I discuss with my doctor soon - just thought I''d see if anyone else had similar experiences. Thanks in advance - and I look forward to being part of this board.
1.gif

Brooks--welcome! I''ve read things on here and elsewhere that say ovulation after such and such day means the egg is too old, won''t implant, etc. But then you hear about ladies getting preggo with it. I''d be willing to bet that it''s not favorable but it can happen. Have you had bloodwork done with your OB? I''d suggest that, if you are getting ancy about your wacky cycles. I had them too and they suck! Best of luck to you!

Bella-your timing sounds great! Has FF given you your test grade yet?

Dcgator--sorry about AF. And do you think it''s worse bc of the chemical preg? I hope this is it for you!

Welcome brooks. I once read that optimal ovulation is between days 11-15, so the egg isn't overripe. I ovulated on CD 11 the month I got knocked up. But there are PLENTY of women who O after CD 15 and get pregnant easily.
