The Official TTC Thread!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Just a tiny update. Tonight's OPK was VERY clearly negative! Not sure if I just had a short surge or if it was a false positive. CM has also dried up.

LtlFirecracker, hope your DH is home safe and sound soon!

Yep! I know they say you can also hold your pee for 4 hours and test other times, but there's no way I can not pee for 4 hours.

Sounds like you O'd! Some wome have surges that only last a few hours, so it's definitely possible.

AFM- My temp went up this morning so I decided to test. But, I didn't sleep all that well (3rd night in a row, which is just awesome) so I'm not sure how much that would have impacted it. I went ahead and tested. I definitely see a VERY faint line, but I think it's an indentation line and not a BFP. And so the wait continues. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/35b735

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

AMC, I'm not a very good *line-detector* but I think I see it. What's this indentation line you speak of? I've never heard of this. Sounds like denial to me. :naughty: I had a similar what I call *almost imaginary* line at I think 10 or 11 dpo. I think you are knocked up!

ETA - I changed my mind - I definitely see it. I can't wait until tomorrow to see if I'm right. Good luck!

Amc, get yourself a digital! That's what my BFP looked like on a non digital...just sayin'... :naughty:

An indentation or evaporation line is when the moisuture goes over the test stip and then leaves a mark where the test strip is, but it's not an actual BFP. You can tell it's an evap if the line has no color.

Really? I have 3 at home, so if the line looks more visible tomorrow I'll definitely use one :)

It's back about page 626 or so I think...on Oct 9th. Take a look!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I agree, digi time!! FWIW, I see it too. ;))

AFM: I've decided that it was a false alarm. My temp stayed down and this morning's opk was negative again. I know it's not uncommon, but it sucks! It's also causing emotional havoc because I know DH is relieved, but I'm sad. :(sad I know it's not ideal timing, but I really felt like it was meant to be like that (as Meg mentioned). I also don't really have anyone to talk to about it, other than him and for obvious reasons that's just not helping me feel better, lol. He's trying to be helpful and sensitive, but knowing the deep down he's relieved vs disappointed just hurts a lot and I can't break past that to take comfort in the things he's saying.

I guess when there's an "oops" it can go either way - either making you realize you're ready NOW, or making you realize that you're REALLY okay with waiting. Unfortunately, DH and I landed on opposite sides of the fence for this one. Poopy day. It doesn't help that DH and I got Chinese food for dinner and BOTH of our fortunes said "Follow your heart this week." No joke, it's just downright cruel from my POV. :nono:

I've also decided that I need to see a BFP digital from AMC to make me feel better! C'mon already! Your chart looks verrrry promising!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

AMC, LOL I thought you made up the indentation line thing! I've heard of evap though but I think that's unlikely on that type of test unless it's been sitting around for a while. I can't wait to see your digi say "Pregnant"! I  BFPs.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

amc, my resolution is not very good, so I don't see much on your test. BUT if you at all saw a line when you looked at it in person, it is most likely positive. My BFNs on FRERs have all been plain as day with no hint whatsoever of an evaporation or "indentation" line. I'll wait for confirmation from you before congratulating you :D

Okay, I looked. Yours is similar but with yours I can very clearly see pink. Mine, not so much :)

(edited to remove the random apostrophe I had in "yours." WTF? OH just realized I haven't had my coffee this morning. That explains it.)

Edited again to say I'm not convinced I'm 11DPO, I still think I might be 9DPO.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Tammy, don't get ahead of yourself, you would not necessarily have had a temp rise yet if your OPK was positive yesterday. Ovulation usually comes a day or so after a positive OPK, and you would only notice a temp rise the day after ovulation. For example, I had a positive OPK yesterday and a negative test today, and based on past months, I suspect that means I am ovulating today. And if I were still temping, I would not notice a temp shift until tomorrow morning. You might just be surprised with a temp shift in the next couple of days.

Bright, I didn't take official "before" pictures of the kitchen, so I'll have to see if I can find pictures we've taken in the kitchen. I wish I would've thought to do that. I'll definitely take "after" pictures, although it is not going to be as impressive as a fully remodeled kitchen wouldn've been. Glad you and your DH are enjoying some time as a couple, and I need to remember to not dwell on what I don't have so much and just enjoy being with DH. I don't know about you, but I have to admit that it is sort of irritating when people who have kids (i.e. my SIL and BIL and other friends) keep telling use that we should be going out as much as possible and enjoying our freedom while it lasts. I have to hold back every time from telling them that I'd trade the freedom we have in a heartbeat if it meant we would finally have a baby!

Lizzy, thinking of you a lot this week! I hope that everything is going well and that you come back with positive news sometime soon!

Hi everyone else!

Is there any color to it? I read somewhere that is the important part. I think you might be 9DPO too, especially with your temps going up more sharply at that point and the continued + opks. You're definitely not out yet by a long stretch. ::)

I'm not sure. That's sort of the million dollar question. I guess tomorrow's test will tell us if this one had color! According to FF, only 48% of women get positive HPTs at 11DPO. So I'm definitely not out, and even less out if I'm only 9DPO.

Thanks for your thoughts, MP. I guess I'm not completely out but it's probably better for my sanity if I assume I am! I wonder if they'll be able to tell me anything at my pelvic US today. That would be quite nice.

Hi everyone else!

Hi Monkey and TTC ladies! I just got the call that my retrieval will be on Friday morning. My ovaries have had an excellent response and they think they'll retrieve 10-15 eggs! We are very excited! I'll know more about the status of my embryos and their development on Saturday. I'll be sure to stop by with an update. I am very nervous about being sedated with propofol but I should only be under for 15-20 minutes. I am excited, nervous, and anxious all at the same time. Even though I don't post often, I'm always checking in on you ladies and rooting you on! Thinking of you all...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Wow Lizzy, 10-15 eggs?!?! That's great news. I'll definitely be thinking of you on Friday!

AMC, good luck tomorrow!

MP, can't wait to see pics of your new kitchen!

BrightSpot, thinking of you too!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

GREAT update, Lizzy! Good luck this week, I hope it's as painless as possible and a great success!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Yay Lizzy!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy!! 10 - 15 eggs is fantastic!! I'm really excited to hear that!

AMC, I think I see a faint line--I've tilted my laptop every which way trying to see, haha. With 3 digis at home, methinks you're going to have a tough time waiting until tomorrow to use one! I'd say take one tonight and then again tomorrow if tonight's is still negative. I know you'll be fine either way--excited to be pregnant OR okay with not being pregnant so you can drink on the wedding night, but my gut is saying you'll get a BFP!

Monkey, I still lurk here because I like reading your updates. Still rooting for you tons!

Do you guys really think a digi would pick it up if it's SO faint on a FRER? And how long do I need to hold my pee for, 4 hours? That seems pretty much impossible. I guess if I pee right now it will be exactly 4 hours when I'm home...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Pee! Pee! Pee!

I'm not sure tbh, but personally I know if I were in your shoes there would be no holding me back from trying it out ASAP!

I peed. Not until maybe 10 minutes ago since I was in the middle of something at work.

Oh, and sorry to everyone for completely monopolizing this thread lately. I swear I'm not so self-focused in person. :)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

No need to be sorry! You're taking my mind off of my crappy situation. Hope this is it for you, even though I'll miss you on this thread!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy, that is great news! I hope your baby is in one of those 10-15 follicles (or half of your baby ... you know what I mean!). Know that we will all be thinking of you and cheering on those little embryos!

NEL, thanks so much! You are so sweet. I love reading the updates of all of you former TTC'ers! So happy to hear that things are looking good for little Miss Katie!

I hope at least 3 of them are her babies :)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Wooo lizzy! Hoping all goes well! Glad you responded positively to everything. What happens after the retrieval and what is the timeline like?

amc, do you have any wondofos? I had a very faint, albeit there, pink line on mine at 10dpo in the afternoon w/o holding pee. Those wondofos are like GOLD IMO when it comes to POAS (or dipping it in a cup of pee!)

AFM sitting here in a slow TWW. Agonizing over bar results and P'ingOAS. FF didn't detect O, but I'm certain I did w/that amount of CM. Ugh.PATIENCE!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I am SO bad at posting these days :nono:

But I wanted to say...

LIZZY! Woohoo! That's a lot of great eggies to retrieve!

And AMC... I see the line. I tilted my monitor back and it is quite clear to me. I know it's early, but have heart.. and TEST AGAIN! :cheeky: :Up_to_something:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

:wavey:

Hi TTC'ers! This thread is hoppin and I have so many good thoughts for everyone!

I got my fertilitea and Fertilaid today, along with some extra folic acid that I'm going to use to supplement my regular vitamins. The tea is delish :lickout: thank goodness, I was worried it would taste very "health food store-ish" and it's actually very mild and not super minty, but very nice.

I'm super jealous of all the action here because I have bubkus to show. No positive OPK's. No positive HPT's. No PMS and No AF. Cycle day 34. I'm beginning to feel pretty frustrated that my hormones must be just dismally low to have so little going on (does that seem to be a reasonable assumption ??). Hopefully the tea and supplements will work. Any insight on what kind of thresholds most Dr's have before they will see you / start any kind of testing to see what's going on? It appears that I do have an annual benefit of $1500 towards 'infertility treatments' so if I can start getting some testing before the benefit year rolls over, I want to do it, so that I can use that money next year too, if needed. I just had my annual, but at a midwife practice that will most likely be my first choice to deliver with. I assume that they are fairly conservative about starting investigations, the midwife I saw (about a week before we actually started trying) said for me to play it cool and see what happens over the next few months. If I'm not ovulating I want to know ASAP so that we can figure out how to get things going!

Good luck to everyone that has such exciting things happening or about to happen, and I will try to drink my tea and think positively.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy, yay! I'm glad your body is cooperating. I hope to hear some wonderful news from you in a few weeks.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy - so excited for you! Wishing you the best.

AMC - I cannot see the line, but it does not mean it is not there. I will be checking on you tomorrow.

missracheik - hey, I may be sitting this one out too....I will know by tomorrow. I am sorry if you posted this before, but I can't remember. How long have you been trying? How many cycles have you charted? When exactly did you go off your OCP? What kind of OCP were you using? From a pediatrician prospective (clearly I am NOT trying to get my patients pregnant) I will work them up for anovulatory issues if they have gone more than 3 months without a period, or are having cycles that clearly demonstrate an anovulatory pattern. This is of course not counting the first 2 years after having their first period, as it can take that long for ovulation to become regular. From my prospective, I don't want to work up someone who just has one weird cycle here or there, because that can happen. But if it a regular pattern, I want to figure out what is going on. For infertility treatments, you typically have to wait a year if you are under 35, but that "rule" does not apply to someone who wants to figure out why she is having irregular cycles. Does that make since?

AFM - I have the EWCM and my husband does not come home until tomorrow night. I am really hoping it stays until than. My temp was a bit high, but I have the "advise phone" this week and got called at 1 am, so I didn't have 3 hours of sleep. What I would give to get regular sleep, as I think it is totally messing things up for me.
