Well, Now Brett Kavanaugh Can Face His Accuser

What was that lynching joke again? I can't quite remember it, only that it was soooo funny!

Something about a rope and a tree and a journalist and I seem to remember how "If MY kid's teachers were protesting police shootings something something lawsuit" but you know society is unfortunately so litigious these days. The point is, rich entitled white men are a targeted minority now and need to be protected at all costs.

I won't be baited by idiocy.

so if you can't get the guy for sexual assault then put him away for drinking one too many beer? :wall:

DF, shhhhh......let the grown ups talk. Stop popping in with one line here and there that you cherry pick to stay relevant. o_O

If RBG "retires" next year then the seat is fair for him to fill. If in 2020 then they could wait until after the election. I am fine with this scenario.

Speaking of RBG and people's problem with Kavanaugh's "partisan" comments, did anyone feel the same way about her comments of Trump as a sitting justice?

Next year will be 2019, one year left of Trump's term. If it's fair for him to fill then it was fair for Obama to fill Scalia's vacancy. (Which of course we all know it was not only fair, but just and legal.) But you didn't call out McConnell's bullshit (may have even supported it, I don't remember). I won't engage with you anymore on politics; I'm a logical type and I see you as emotionally partisan.

As for RBG's comments: I did not agree with her commenting about Colin Kaepernick (for which she later apologized.) I don't feel it is proper for a SJC to comment on a US citizen exercising their legal right to demonstrate.

I couldn't care less about her (or anyone else's) comments about Trump. Trump has shown egregious disrespect for the citizens of this country and for the office he holds. How can anyone be concerned about a sitting justice's comments on the president when that same sitting president denigrates Gold Star families, women, reporters, senators, private citizens...while at the same time lauding dictators that kill their own people?

Please be careful; I’d hate to see you trip over that double standard.

Just a friendly reminder that there is no such thing as the "right" to be on SCOTUS. lying under oath, being a partisan hack who peddles in conspiracy nonsense is disqualifying. The multiple allegations are just icing on a poop cake of a nominee.

Normally I am quite logical and almost never emotional, in fact people here accuse me of having no emotion so your point is not accurate IMO. This situation and the egregious partisanship shown by dems has made me angry. And I am not the only conservative/independent woman who is. Polls are showing this as well.

The double standard on RBG's comments on Trump is noted.

If it's in 2020 then they can hold off. But if RBG dies next year then no.

Jesus. Did you REALLY write this? I watched the Ruth Bader Ginsberg documentary the other night- what an amazing amazing woman. The fact that you would say this and then get your panties in a bunch over all of the other bull**** spewed here is SO TELLING of who you are.

God forbid anyone talks about the fat circus peanut meeting an unfortunate end. You'd be all over that with your santimonious bull.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Thoughts and prayers and bless your heart.....

Argumentum ad nauseam (argument to the point of disgust; i.e., by repitition). This is the fallacy of trying to prove something by saying it again and again. But no matter how many times you repeat something, it will not become any more or less true than it was in the first place. Of course, it is not a fallacy to state the truth again and again; what is fallacious is to expect the repetition alone to substitute for real arguments (from Logical Fallacies and the Art of Debate).

Ummm....no. Your instant posts and then immediate edits tell me that you post out of emotion pretty much 100% of the time. Nice try though. And no, the polls do not show this.

I don't want to get in the middle of a fight, but calling Trump a fat circus peanut is rude to circus peanuts.:mrgreen2:

See? Instant reply. And you're not logical, but definitely emotional. As much as you want to put off the cool hand luke vibe, it's not working. I would have more respect for you if you just said "Hey, my parents were conservative republicans, THEIR parents were conservative republicans, and it's just how I was raised." Because THAT I could relate to. And you'd basically be one of the many of bat-shit family members that I have to put up with on a weekly/monthly/yearly basis.

Go DIXIELAND!!!!

That’s your opinion, none of this bothers me, and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Oh honey, I hope you won't lose any sleep tonight over RGB's terrible misdeed (I'm actually not even sure what it is) and my double standards. Rest, rest my dear! Tomorrow will be a new day in the land of Trump. You will need all your strength to rationalize that his attacking, mocking, denigrating comments on US citizens are justified. Soldier on!

This one appears with the most frequency in this thread.

Tu quoque ("you too"). This is the fallacy of defending an error in one's reasoning by pointing out that one's opponent has made the same error. An error is still an error, regardless of how many people make it. For example, "They accuse us of making unjustified assertions. But they asserted a lot of things, too!"

Lawd have mercy I love the Internet

Can't wait for our resident "FAKE NEWS!!" posters. But alas, it is true and there are a lot of videos waiting to be debunked by Qanon and 4chan.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Can I start yelling "IDIOCY!!!" as well

It’s quite thoughtful of Chump to keep tissues handy for all the liberal tears spilling around him. What a guy!

I think your polls may be mistaken Red. Women are angry, I’ll give you that. Women are tired of being treated as though they don’t matter. Senators are being bombarded by calls from women who have been assaulted. We watched our president mock Dr. Ford last night. Women have been watching and we will be voting. How you can not see a cultural shift is beyond me.

Kavanaugh’s Wall Street Journal Op Ed came out because he knows people feel he does not have the temperament to be a Supreme Court judge.

He made a statement saying his past has been “ridiculously distorted”. He is the one who chose to mislead the country about his past. He is the one who chose to go to the most partisan media outlet and paint humself as a perfect person when he was young. He chose to lie under oath regarding his past and not answer questions directly.

He read a written statement he prepared last Thursday. Now he is acting as though that statement was an off the cuff remark and was why he was so emotional. He wrote it beforehand. His words were thought out. He knew exactly what he was saying and reading. He is NOT an independent and impartial judge. He made that very clear last Thursday.

Where ever there's an a$$hole, there's $hit and TP.

Well, no Matata. CLEARLY if you are educated you'd know that the white shit trailing off the bottom of his shoes is there to absorb liberal tears. Duh. #MAGA

"Liberal tears?" OMG and I thought you a worthy, albeit gaslightingandpretendingtoholdafacebooklawdegree adversary at times. How disappointing.:lol::lol::lol:

Did you not get the memo? I’m a woman, you MUST believe me. :wavey:

Perhaps that ‘memo’ is what’s stuck to the bottom of Chump’s shoe.
