^ so much dust for your kitty :(( :((

I took my ring to be resided today, should be back thursday. I have a wedding to go to this weekend and for whatever reason i really wanted to be able to wear it there. Ive only gotten it like a week ago but im already so attached i didnt want to send it to get resided. But ive been wearing it on my pinky like some sort of drug dealer, so it had to happen!

I haenly gotten to see anyone else hold the ring until today when the woman took it from me to have it size. I was AMAZED how flashy the bowtie area really was... so that was nice to see

I'm in southern Maryland. My maternity leave only lasts 1 more month.

The evenings are a blur. My baby still doesn't sleep long at night. He's ~11 lbs, and 7 wks old. He does 4-5 hours about 2x a week. Lately, he's been waking up every 2-3 hrs at night.

Bah I yelled at a mom with her kids today.

Haven't posted a kitty dust thread but came home last night to a bloody cat under my bed. We rushed him to the emergency vet. He seemed OK other than his unexplained bloody paws so we went home and I set him up with food and litter in my bathroom. Then DH moved the bed so we could see what happened. Looked like a horror movie. Then kitty went into grand mail seizures (now I know its called a cluster seizure because it just kept on happening). Got him back to the emergency vet for a seizure watch where he will stay until we can get him to the neurologist on Monday.

So yelling at the mom...

We decided to go for a walk by the river to relax. Sat down by some ducks and started talking about kitty when a mom and her kids show up. The kids start throwing rocks at the ducks but she's on her phone and doesn't notice. Poor things thought it was food and actually swam towards the stones. DH asked the mom to tell her kids to stop and she freaked at him. Her kids are none of his business and what is he doing watching them anyway. Um they're on the edge of a river without supervision and we were there first anyway. We sit back down and the kids keep on throwing rocks. DH decides to try to explain (while still sitting next to me, never approached them) that the stones are hurting the ducks. The next thing we know the mother is freaking at him for talking to her kids. "My kids would never hurt anything" "you have no business near my kids" ( we were sitting there first and never got up!).

Finally I yelled at her for teaching her kids that harming animals is OK. People came over from the ice cream trick to watch.

Solo high strung, why did the bad mom have to be at the park today!

Eta: excuse the typos! Stressed me typing on my phone.

Aww, chemgirl, sending tons and tons of kitty dust your way and hoping for a good resolution to this health issue for him. Big hugs.

As for the mom and those sociopathic kids- you did the right thing and do NOT feel badly. Kids who hurt animals are not "normal" and that mom sounds like a real BEEEATCH and she deserved a good scolding at least. So sorry you had to deal with this on top of your sweet kitty having this traumatic health issue. Ugh, sometimes bad things just feel like they never stop. Sending lots of good thoughts and positive vibes your and your dear kitty's way!!!

Pregcurious, hope your darling son starts sleeping through the night and that you get to enjoy the rest of your maternity leave with him.

Sending kitty dust, and I agree, the mom did deserve a scolding. Throwing rocks at an animal is never ok, and children who learn it is could grow up to think some very disturbing things are ok.

I'm farm sitting a large farm right now, 11 horses plus birds and dogs. I am exhausted, but it's also fulfilling to know that I have allowed this family to go on vacation together for once. I did get to take part of the weekend off, as they were between trip locations, and we spent the day at the springs, just relaxing.

I'm going to very selfish and say can I please get some dust sent my way? We should find out in the next 30 days if we get to go back overseas and I really want to live in Europe!

DUST SB

Just got my teeth whitened (Zoom). Got an amazing livingsocial deal - $99! My teeth are 4 shades lighter. Blindingly white!!! Just have to get through 2 days of no caffeine :((

That's great rubyshoes. I am sure it looks gorgeous! I wish I could get my teeth whitened but they are so darn sensitive I daren't even try. I have enough teeth issues for sure.

dragonfly, I wish you were in our area cause I would love to hire you to take care of our kitties! You would be amazing with them.
We haven't traveled in years because since my parents got older and everyone has such busy lives I cannot think of anyone I trust to come and visit and care for our kitties for 2 weeks while we went away. So it's staycations for now until I can find someone we trust.

Yeah for you!! My dentist offers a zoom treatment after the kids get their braces off!

I just left the hair salon and for the first time in at least 15 years all she did was cut it! No color, no high lights no low lights no foils nothing but a cut!!! I've gone since May letting it grow to see what the real color is! I used to be a brunette, after chemo I got lighter brown but lots of gray... So I've been going lighter and finally decided to see what it what. I'm pretty happy with it.
The pic with my DD was 1983!

Dust for Sarah!

Elisateach - you're one smokin' hot mama!!!

I'm going to go crazy here!

Our wedding is 9 weeks from tomorrow. I've still got lots to do. My quarter ended last Friday and I've been planning to spend the next few weeks focusing on nothing but wedding planning.

Well....
FI is now on short term disability due to his neck. So he's home all day and needs to be told to sit down and not be ambitious while he heals.
"A" is home from summer camp, sick, bored and her best friend moved away while she was at camp.

So I'm stuck with two bored crabby people who just want to be entertained while I have stuff I HAVE to do.

Elisa, your hair is gorgeous. And I love your natural color! I would kill for hair color like yours!

TooPatient, I'm sorry you have so much on your plate right now but hang in there...it's all going to work out and you have your special day to look forward to!!! It's a very exciting time!
And I hope your FI feels better very soon...healing dust being sent your way!

Aw, hang in there! That sounds highly frustrating. Is there a movie marathon they could watch together? Some bonding time for them while you have some time to crank out wedding stuff?

Seriously board games! That is my only advise. You think they are sort of lame but they will keep you busy for hours!!!!!!!

Goodluck honey! The last few weeks are so stressful leading up to the wedding...I'm so sorry!

Could you suggest some things like movie trivia? Or craft ideas?

Elisateach - you look AWESOME!! I love that!! and you are so good to finally grow out the colour and just embrace the "new you"!! YAY!! :appl:

I impulsively emailed my new hair stylist at 7am this morning saying that I am totally I'm FED UP with my colour, my crappy frizzy hair, everything (PMS anyone??) ... its all an impulsive move (which may completely back fire on me) but I'm going for it! she just replied so I'm book for this afternoon!! Good bye blonde, good bye shoulder length -- hello... WHO KNOWS WHAT?!

Last night my DS asked to give the doggies some peanut butter as a special treat. Sure no biggie- I asked if he wanted help "No mommie". Ok no problem. Few minutes later he was back and very happy.

Fast forward to this morning. I couldn't find my credit card that was loose in my purse. No biggie I misplace it sometimes at my desk or perhaps it was actually in my wallet.

Had a PB and J for lunch. Found my credit card in the PB jar covered in dog slobber

Elisa - you look terrific! Will you be my role model? A part of me says it's time to go gray and a part of me wants to see what my hair really looks like, but a part of me is holding on to the illusion (and delusion!) that I look much younger than I really am, and isn't ready to see what almost 60 really looks like! I'm expecting to retire within a year or two though, at which time there will be no excuses for not going "au naturel"!

I was so upset because it was practically a new jar of PB!! Normally we keep a seperate jar for the dogs that we don't eat out of. Of course I didn't even think about that or making sure DS took from the right jar so he used "his" PB to share with them. I guess I should be glad he didn't let them eat the whole jar. that too has happened in the past...and I do mean the old jar....including the jar! Got to love labs!

I can just picture the whole thing in my mind!

oh SB!! That sounds like such a cute story--- and I can TOTALLY see a lab having the party of their lives, with head in the jar, just slurping themselves in to a joyful oblivious state!!! My two can spend HOURS on a bone, or a jar, or anything that had peanut butter even WAVED above it!!

(gotta say, I'm kinda susceptible to partaking in the product myself... but not straight from the jar! lol!)

I do like how its served on a credit card --- platinum? ;)) nothing but the best for our dogs....

Missy -- Thanks! I know it will work okay. Last night was just rough. I'd been up helping FI with his pain until well after 2am then the alarm went off at 5am so that I could drive 80+ miles to go pick "A" up from camp. I hate driving on freeways (especially in that area) but got to spend about 5 hours (after no sleep) doing just that for the 160+ mile round trip. By the time I posted, it was looking like another repeat of the sleepless nights we've had the last couple of weeks.

Rosebloom -- Sitting in front of a TV for hours on end?! I'd gotten them into the next season of Star Trek Enterprise while I was in here posting and trying to get a gift registry done...
Hoping to avoid too much of this, but sometimes you just have to go with it! (and then keep an eye so that FI doesn't fall into his habit of sitting in a way that reinforces the damage in his neck)

SB -- "A" loves board games. FI not so much but he can get into them and have fun. His neck is causing severe pain/tingling/swelling in his hands so he really is unable to use them right now (which is why the disability leave from his software job). I'll have to look and see if we have something where he could lay there and she could act as his hands for playing. (maybe Monopoly?)

Dragonfly -- Great idea for "A"! She's got a stack of stuff I sent to camp with her but she didn't have time for. I'll suggest it!
Hmm.... Maybe instead of a movie trivia some sort of history trivia? Both love history...

Enerchi -- Good luck!!! I hope you love whatever she does to your hair!

I was afraid I would look too old (birthday 57 is in October) so my stylist suggested going blonde for a few months and going easy on the touch ups. cut it short in May let it grow out all summer and then first week of school cut it short again.
I do notice I need a bit more color on my face, might head to the mall for a makeover.
I did go to a wig salon and tried on a wig in April, that was fun!
Maybe do that?? Embrace the inner you!!!

Hawaiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a job interview today... I would really like this job - it is what I want to do, I'd be able to have it through the next election (so over a year, so like REALLY LONG in the political world), the salary is my goal salary for the next year, and it sounds funnnn. I don't want to jinx it by thinking too hard about it, but I REALLY want it.

Dust please?

Dust for you distracts.

Omg. So I had Zoom on Wednesday and all went well. However, yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, I got majorly queasy and sick. I vomited 7 times and went to the bathroom 5 times. I had a raging headache and felt dizzy and light-headed. I took an ibuprofen and I threw that up as well! Finally I went to the CVS minute clinic and the nurse told me if I didn't get rehydrated asap I would have to go to hospital for IV fluids. So she sent me home with 2 bottles of Pedialyte which I have been sipping constantly ( I did throw up Pedialyte as well).

The nurse's guess was that I either had food poisoning or I had an allergy to the bleach in the Zoom treatment. I don't know if it's the latter but just in case it's the former, I should mention I ate Lean Cuisine Fettucine Alfredo for dinner and also for lunch ('white diet' for 48 hrs after Zoom). Maybe it was a bad batch? I'd stay away from that particular product...

Ok I am going back to bed. My teeth look amazing, sadly I look (and feel) like crap. Oof! My sweet kitties always know when I am unwell and they didn't leave my side all day yesterday except to eat and to use the box :)) I love my kittycats. :saint:
