Button is 22 months now, still as cheeky as ever.

Here''s a pic of Button''s first ''snowboy'' on his first trip to the snow:

Was at the cottage all weekend (it was a long weekend here in canada) spent the day on the dock planning my trip in October. Does anyone know off hand if any specific vaccinations are required for travel in Morocco? I doubt it, but i need to look into it.
I've already started to compile a list of stuff i am going to need for this adventure. This is not going to be a relaxing trip with Cohen in tow, but it'll be fun in a different way.

So i was curious about Co's growth stats so i took him to the fruit scale at my family's store and got the tape measure out since iam too impatient to wait for his appointment
He weighs 14.10 lbs (somewhere around the 50th percentile)
Length 26.5 inches (95th percentile)
I guess his big chubby cheeks belie how 'lean' he is.

how was everyone's weekend?
My goodness, A and Co are practically the same, and she is a GIRL!

Maybe we all need to post nekkid baby pics.

ETA, I mean, nekkid with a diaper. Don't want to be indecent!!!

qtiki: OMG..what a pretty girl. I never woke up either of my kids, and Jake was a string bean. If your child is sleeping and not underweight, (trust me you''d know, you''d be going in every other day for weigh ins) let that sweet sleeper be. Both of my kids slept 8 hours by 8weeks. One breastfed, and the other bottle fed.

Hylands: well, I think this is a case of overactive mommy concern run amok. Belladonna is a tranquilizer of sorts, BUT in a homeopathic formulation, the active ingredient is so heavily diluted (anywhere from 1:100 to 1:10,000) that it is impossible for it to have an adverse affect.

So its not surprising that some moms see the word ''belladonna'' and automatically assume that is a standard, non-homeopathic dose and that its harmful. And a lot of doctors are not versed in homeopathic remedies, and may not know that the moms are referring to that type of remedy.

Its not a problem. In the article Burk linked to, it even states that homeopathic formulas aren''t included in that warning. Hylands is purely homeopathic.

I just bought a bottle for Daners, all the stores here still sell it!

HTH.

I am SO TIRED.

I have so much more, but I need sleep. I didn''t sleep at all last night. Baby D was just a fusserin and a busserin all night long. We are headed to the coast with our doggie & kiddos for 3 nights, so I need to pack tomorrow! Woooo!

I won''t have internet access there, GASP! So I''ll have to find some other way to amuse myself. LOL

My first post in the mommies thread as a mommy. Yay!!!

Just curious, did you wake your baby up for feedings? We just went to our first pedi appt. today, and the dr. told us that we not to wake her to feed her. Just wait for her to want to feed, and we don''t have to feed her every 3 hours. She can sleep for 4 - 5 hrs max before we need to wake her to feed her. Right now if I don''t wake her, she sleeps about 3 - 4 hrs between feedings.

M is doing very well as far as BFing; she was able to latch on easily after birth before they took her to the nursery. It''s kind of funny because my SIL who is not married keeps asking me if it hurts to BF. And I keep explaining to her how it doesn''t hurt and it''s not supposed to hurt if the baby is latch on correctly. Then she said isn''t it going to hurt when the teeth come in, and I try to explain to her how in correct latching the baby can''t bite. She is really curious; I think her maternity clock is ticking.
Aw, Meena is perfect.

QT, I got the opposite advice from the others, however keep in mind they weren''t even going to release Amelia from the hospital because she lost over 10% of her body weight. For the first 3-4 weeks, we had to wake her to feed her because she was underweight and would sleep through feedings.

As long as she is gaining weight, I don''t think you need to worry and should follow your doc''s instructions. I did ask my doc however why he and the NICU nurse at the lactation support group said that newborns should be fed every 2 hours (3 hours for formula feeders), and he told me their stomachs are the size of a walnut when they are born and it''s easier for them to digest smaller amounts more frequently. I was worried about waking Amelia since some people say never wake a sleeping baby, but obviously she did fine and slept great once we left her alone.

If Meena is sleeping so well, don''t mess with it! Hehehe. It will help with your sanity. Many of my friends did what you are doing and their babies were fine. I was feeding Amelia every 2.5 hours using a SNS. By the time she was fed (it could take an hour) and I washed everything, I only had 1 hour to sleep until the next feeding. I thought I was going to go mad.

LOL!!! I didn''t go back on BC after Button, maybe that''s why we conceived so quickly when we decided to try for a second - who knows? Still a little shell-shocked even though this was planned, just cos I didn''t think it would happen so fast!

Going to catch up on the bazillion pages I''ve missed now!

Congratulations on the impending arrival of number 2 Jade!!! It''s all good (eventually) I promise. I''m glad to see you posting again. I was in a restaurant in Melbourne a about a month ago and a lady dining next to me was wearing rings that reminded me of your stunning MWM set. I spent most of the time trying to sneak surreptitious glances - my husband thought I was mad
23.gif
I could kind of see his point, but couldn''t help looking. That''s what this site will do to you.

Speaking of MWM (sorry for the threadjack), I''m currently trying to develop a project with him and finding it rather frustrating dealing with the time difference etc - how was your experience?

Thank you! I''m sure it''ll get easier, but I am so exhausted now!

Which restaurant were you at? DH and I only get to dine out in restaurants without Button once a week on our fri date night.

Most of my communications with Mark were through email initially, and once we had a concrete idea of which way we were going, I arranged a time with Katie so I can ring and speak to Mark. She made sure that Mark was available at the time we arranged so it was quite easy getting hold of him. I think he prefers to have a chat on the phone rather than emailing, so you will probably have more luck getting Katie to make an appt for a phonecall. He also tends to be more willing to spend time replying to emails with very defined ideas, so make sure you give him a good idea of what you are after. However long it takes, a MWM piece is worth the wait, so be patient, and I hope you get your MWM masterpiece soon!

We were at Grossi Florentino and it was a Saturday night. We don''t live in Melbourne so it was a birthday treat.

I remember the exhaustion of being newly pregnant and caring for a small child - divergrrl described it very well in an earlier post, but it does get easier.

Thanks for the info on your experience with MWM. So far we have been relying on email. He has my stone and has sent through some CAD images for me to choose from, but for some reason email communication seems to be stalling a bit. I think I''ll have to try calling, but that will probably mean staying up quite late. I have to say though, I have found both he and Katie very pleasant so far. And I agree, it is worth waiting for - he has had my stone since April

Hey Jade great to see you and congrats!!!
35.gif
Button has grown so much!

Hiya ladies!

It''s been a while since I''ve been here (was in Florida for the past six days with no Internet access) and I''ve got a lot of catching up to do, so for now I''m just going to say hi and congrats to Qtiekiki!! Meena is gorgeous -- good job, Mama!! Oh, and I was slightly concerned about Hylands after reading about the belladonna issue, but then ... I got over it. The tablets DO work and I agree with Diver that it''s just mommy paranoia kicking in. A few tabs and some tylenol = MUCH happier babies!

35.gif
Hi mamas!!! Hope everyone is doing well!!

Burk, I love ALLLL the photos of Tayva. You have a gorgeous family! We used the Hylands teething tablets for Lily but I don''t think they worked for her. I was kind of excited that they had belladonna in them because I knew that was like a sedative but unfortunately, it did nothing for her!! We just stick to Motrin these days.

lili, sounds like Jadelyn is doing great. I use that growth chart too. It''s really cool to see where they land on it--some jumps are bigger than others!

diver, you have a great memory--we are still trying to get stinky cat lady out of the apartment next door. I have complained to just about everyone including the department of health and finally the lawyer from our building contacted me as they are also trying to get her out so it looks like we''ll be going to court sometime soon. It''s kind of a pipe dream because even if we did get her out, it would not be cheap to buy her apartment and then do a gut renovation. But the idea is still lurking in my mind. We''re going to tough it out for as long as we can where we are now and then reevaluate after the baby is about 6 months old or so. I can''t even think about it!!

Regarding being pregnant with a toddler around, yeah, it''s hard. But not impossible!!!! If I were home all day with Lily I''m sure I''d be losing my mind but daycare and my job are truly my saviors!!! Not to mention I have an awesome husband who is madly in love with his little girl so he really picks up the slack and makes sure I''m not overdoing it. The first trimester was tough because I was sooooooooo tired and nauseated all the time and now it''s a little tough because I''m 32 weeks in the dead of summer so I just feel hot all the time. But other than that, it hasn''t been as bad as I expected. I''m more concerned about how it will be AFTER the baby arrives!
6.gif

qtiekiki, welcome to mommyhood!!! Sounds like things are going really well with you and Meena--she is just so adorable!!!!! My pediatrician gave me different advice in the beginning because Lily didn''t gain much weight in the first 2 weeks so I was told to wake her every 3 hours to feed her but I would trust what your doctor tells you and if she''s sleeping, let her sleep!!

msflutter, good to see you!! Ian is getting so big, he is just precious!

Jade!!
35.gif
We haven''t seen you in ages! Button is soooooo grown up, what a cutie pie! Congrats on #2. I hear ya on getting pregnant really easily the second time. We weren''t even trying so you can imagine my surprise when I found out I was pregnant after the ONE time that DH and I did the deed at 8 months post partum. So yeah, I''m due at the end of September and will have 2 girls just under 17 months apart! I''m envious of your situation!!! Hope you''re feeling well. Keep us posted!

TGal, you are such an awesome mom already, it would be a shame if Amelia didn''t have a sibling. Give it a few more months and you may be singing a different tune! Ok, yes, I''m trying to peer pressure you now before I have my second one. I need someone to be as crazy as I am and get knocked up again asap!!!
2.gif

ellaila, good to see you! Did you go to Florida with the twins? How was it to travel with them?

In my world, Lily just had her 15 month appointment. She got 3 shots and handled them pretty well--just a quick cry and then she was over it. She weighs 22 lbs. 13 oz. (51%) and her height is a whopping 31.75" (86%)! She grew almost 2.5" in 3 months but only gained 1 lb. so it sounds like she''ll be long and lean like her dad. Of course DH is worried that she''ll be "abnormally tall" but I think my shorty genes will probably balance it out! The pediatrician was pleased with her progress and said that she''s "ahead of the game" in terms of words, comprehension, etc. So that made me feel good. She also reassured me that things will be fine with Lily and the new baby--the only ones that will probably suffer will be their exhausted parents!!!!!!!! Good times, good times...

TGal, I love the first shot of Amelia waving. She''s beautiful!
Burk, T is beautiful! I love the shot with her dad and the one with you!
QT, Meena is so cute. The picture of her sleeping is too funny!
MsF, Ian is gorgeous. I love his blue eyes. He''s going to get lots of girls attention when he grows up!
Jade, Button is so adorable! Congratulations on your pregnancy. So exciting! Another gorgeous baby is on the way! You should join us in the Pregnant thread.

Ladies keep those cute baby pictures coming! They are all so adorable! After the weekend I''ve had and now being on bed rest, I''ve needed some cheering up and your cute babies definitely put a smile on my face.

msf- Ian is such a good looking boy..love the pics

jade- so nice to see you again. Button is as cute as ever, I just want to squeeze him. Congrats too. April babies are fun...can't beat the April birth stone either
31.gif

Diver- I hope you have a great trip..

Tgal and Jas12- too funny about your babies being about the exact same size. Lili, any idea where our sweet J is checking in at?

SDL- so nice to see you here too. You have such a beautiful family!!!!

SDL - you have a gorgeous family. Your DD looks just like you, so pretty.

QT--if i were you i would let her sleep--but i am a biased sleep deprived momma
1.gif

Tgal-- A and C are almost the same size--funny. I think that Co is probably heavier (closer to 15 i think) b/c in order to weigh him on the fruit scale i have to support his body a bit so he doesn''t fall off it and i am sure that takes a bit of weight off. I''ll get his official stats at his next appnt.

Curious to see what Jake weighs--i think he will have everyone beat by a long shot. He was a strong/big boy from the get go. I remember when he was born MrsS mentioned that he only nursed for 10 mins. Cohen is just at that stage now! It takes strength
(i luv the power-nursing, frees up so much more time in the day!)

Q - welcome to the mommies thread! Meena is such a doll. I say let her sleep unless the pedi directs otherwise. Another biased sleep-deprived mommy opinion though
2.gif

Tgal and Jas - such cute little ones - looking so grown up already!

SDL - beautiful family! PSers have the BEST genes.

James is doing great. Had a huge poop today - he must''ve saved it just for me because he was all grins when I was changing him
6.gif
We are in the process of getting a date for his baptism right now. We really want the same priest that married us to do it, but he works for the Diocese now so it''s taking some leg work. It looks like it will work out though.

So we are going to try to make a "date" and head to Cedar Point this weekend if I can get the okay from my doc. I''ll be 5.5 weeks post-partum then and I can skip the really jarring rides and not feel guilty because we will be getting the tickets for free.

Hiya gals...inlaws are gone for the day and I can just relax and stop being supermom (my day went something like this: Wake up, feed kid, change kid, nap kid, get ready, wake kid, take kid to physical therapy, get lunch for inlaws, come home feed kid, change kid, nap kid, eat lunch, research trip to san fran for inlaws, get kid, play with kid, feed kid, change kid, nap kid, go out and grocery shop for dinner, play with kid, blah blah, bathe kid, put kid down, make dinner for 4, washes dishes, serve dessert, chat chat chat, and FINALLY have time to chill out and read Pricescope after everyone leaves. WHEW!!)

Hi Ella, good to see you here!

Curly, seems like everything is going well in your world. Yeah, I would think that working while preggo would be a bit of a lifesaver when you already have a kid. I think you will do fine when the baby arrives. We all seem to manage somehow, don't we? Maybe it's just simple survival...

snlee, glad we could cheer ya. You need to stay well rested girl!

SDL, gorgeous family...wow, you don't look like you could have all those kids!

Jas, love that bumbo pic, he is so adorable and funny! I should take one of Amelia in hers...if ONLY so you could see that we need to swap bumbos. I got a hand me down too, and it's BLUE.
41.gif

Diva, glad to hear you and James are doing well...you sound great...you even don't sound like you have that mother-of-a-newborn frazzle!
36.gif

Jas, lili and MrsS, what size diapers are your babies in? Amelia had to move to Pampers size 2 and she is in 6 month onesies. These diapers are no longer cute.
39.gif

And in Amelia news...her physical therapist says she's pretty much perfect. We are only going once a month now for follow ups! Torticollis be gone!!

Maybe I am being a bad mom and making her wear them budgee smuggler (speedo) style? You should see her in the 1-2''s I still put her on her because we got a box as a gift and I still have a ton of them!

OK, stupid question, but do they sit above her belly button or below???

TGal
Can you exchange them for the bigger size?

Honestly, I don''t know where the diaper should sit.
The only reason we went with size 3 is because the size 2 was a bit snug around her thighs.
DH doesn''t like it when the diaper (or anything) is a bit fitting.
You should see how loose he had the diapers on....they literally slide off her when you lift her up!

SDL
Gorgeous family.
Hehe, your eldest is too funny

Hm, you''d think with 4 month olds, we would have figured this out by now?
3.gif

A''s sit kind of at her belly button when I put them on, but then once she gets movin/squirming, they sit about an inch under her belly button. Size 2''s say from 12-18 pounds so Amelia is right at the middle or the range right now.

And I hear ya on the thigh thing...Amelia probably should be in size 4 if I had to take into consideration her thunder thighs.
20.gif

btw, Pampers has size 2-3''s if the 3''s still slide off (if that bugs you).
