Hi Isaku! :wavey: Thinking of you!

Pompous trash- I completely agree, Isaku! I followed that fiasco as well. What a snake! I can't believe he's allowed in... but I know nothing about politics/policies/immigration or the legal system, so there ya go!

And dear Barbara... ya... RIIIIIIiiiiiight!!! :nono:

Hi Enerchi :wavey: Don't the two of them make perfect partners for each other?

Hi Isaku! :wavey: Thinking of you!

Thanks so much for your thoughts, VRBeauty. So far so good for me. Tomorrow DH and I will visit Sunnybrook for his six month checkup. It's been two years since his treatment for prostate cancer and he seems to be doing well.

Lady Luck has not been smiling on us for the past few years

Some people just really wear on my nerves (or whatever the saying is) - even so called "close friends"!!!

Jesus people!! Get a GRIP!!! Get a fr**king sense of reality!! Do you even know how lucky you are?!! I give you all kinds of advice and you TOTALLY ignore EVERY single thing I've told you (and you have gone and done the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I'd told you to do) and now you're stewing in your own juices?!! Sorry, you have to own up to YOUR own behaviour!! How old are you?!! Seriously!! Sheeza!! Quit harassing me already!!

To the other person, where are your fr**king manners?!! When I give your baby nice (AND expensive, more than I'd ever spend on myself) clothes, ALL you should EVER say is "thank you" and not complain TO ME (yes, me, the one who went to numerous shops to find the appropriate clothing articles, not to mention schlepping (sp?) them across countries to personally hand-deliver them to you), and NOT tell me that the clothes are "far too big" and that they do not fit your daughter!! SERIOUSLY??!! :o :o :o

Okie, Phoenix, deep breath!! deep breath!!!! ZEN!!

Isaku, my thoughts and prayers are going your way. It's time Lady Luck looked kindly upon you and yr DH.

Had our septic pumped yesterday. I had planned for a $400 routine maintenance sort of thing..... yeah. I should know better by now.

Some "smart" person decided to put a deck on the house. When they added the deck, they also had to add stairs to get up/down from the deck. So where did they put the stairs? Right ON the septic cover!
We managed to dig the cover out so the lid could sort of be slid off, but that wasn't good enough. The septic guy showed up and let us know that while he could pump the tank that way, it really wouldn't do anything as he couldn't get any of the solids.

We had to screw 4x4's to the side of the stairs and CUT the end of the stairs off. The stairs off the deck now end about 5' off the ground!

B put some temporary treads down the last support so the dogs can get up/down but they aren't usable for people. We have to replace the stairs now. That involves completely moving them so that they aren't over the septic tank covers. Of course moving the stairs means we also have to consider what changes we want to the upper and lower decks. We'd been planning to replace the planking next summer so we can't just move the stairs without thinking about what needs to be done with the decks too. (I'd hate to replace the stairs only to find us having do do it all over again next summer! :errrr: )

So I think I just got conned into making my own birthday dinner. My birthday's next Wednesday and I was hoping that my mom would invite us over for dinner this weekend to celebrate. My mom makes each of us our favorite home-cooked meal for our birthday, and I always ask for the same thing. I hadn't heard about any plans, so I thought I'd put a bug in her ear.

My mom's birthday is really close to mine, about a week after. I thought if I invited my parents over for dinner for my mom's birthday, she'd ask us over for mine. Nope. She said we could celebrate both birthdays at the same time, when she and my dad come to our house.

Maybe I should learn how to cook my favorite dinner. Maybe I should learn to cook.

I never shared this picture of my mama's new pup! He was minutes away from being euthanized when I was able to convince a rescue to pull him from the ACC, and now he's happy in a warm, loving home. He's super sweet, very playful, and a very good boy. DH and I have been going over there a couple times a day to walk him and do some training, and today we took him and our own baby Bailee to a local Community Pitbull Day. It was awesome, we got some great training in, and both pups were so well behaved in the very large crowd. I just love this new addition to the family!
ETA: PS, meet Nigel the puppy. Nigel, meet PS!

Skippy, it's a simple chicken dish with mushrooms and cheese, but I love it. It's very filling so I only have it two, maybe three times a year, but it's SO good.

Haven, what a gorgeous pup! I saw the pic in another thread but I was just lurking, so I didn't comment. I'm glad he's in a happy home!

OMG-He is adorable! A big congratulations to your mom! I love the name Nigel-I have a Nigel, too :)

Thanks, Zoe and Woofmama! The Chicago ACC named him Nigel, or at least the transfer team did, and we just kept it. I love the name. He's such a sweetheart, I'm so happy we were able to pull him in time.

Ohhh Haven Nigel's lovely  What a lucky little guy!! More pics!

OT but I seriously think pit bull puppies are *the* cutest puppies in existence.

Haven, I love you and your mother for the good work you both do. Nigel is just beautiful and it's clear to see he is a lovely boy.

Animal rescue needs more Havens. :appl:

NOOOOO! Oh, you poor thing. That's painful.
What's the story? I hope it's good! :cheeky:

Thanks for all the Nigel love, ladies! He's amazing. I agree, Yssie, Pitties are the cutest dogs in the world. And the most affectionate. Our girl Bailee is the sweetest pup I've ever had, and I've had a lot of dogs!
I've taken a gagillion pictures, here are some highlights. I couldn't resist adding one of my smiley Bai on our way to Pitbull Community Day. She's my happy little lovebug.

My goodness! I saw those pics and I was grinning from ear to ear! So so cute!!! The one with Bai reminds me of my older baby girl. She's always so happy and smiling.

Christmas commercials on tv already - UGH!

Oh, that little black pittie. I have a HUGE soft spot for that breed. They are just what we as humans make of them, period. If I had the space I'd have 10 or more of them, plus human kids.

I am exhausted! Haven't slept a wink all night. I'm SOOOOOOO excited for the diamond district visit today, I could just burst :appl: :appl: :appl:

Please let something's return to a semi normal state today...and here's hoping power returns to the area as well. :halo:

This morning's news predicted rain, but said it wouldn't start until about 8 p.m., after the trick-or-treaters had returned home.

It just started raining - at 8:09 p.m.

I'm impressed!

The Porsche forums have scared me witless about driving Junior in any weather under 50 degrees without winter performance tires. Of course they don't tell you about that when you buy the damn car at the end of October with the intention of enjoying it until snow actually hits the ground... :angryfire:

CharmedOne, I don't mind dresses, but I do mind control top panty hose, which I am now wearing for the second time this week because we have clients in the office.

And Haven - YOU'RE KILLING ME!!! When I was at the dealership on Saturday a local shelter had dogs there (an odd venue, but I bet it worked for them). There was a six month old white lab mix with tan spots and one black paw that I would have traded my left tit to bring home, but alas, my apartment will not alow me to have pets...

Pantyhose! They still make them? LOL They are too itchy. Can't wear them.
