The Porsche forums have scared me witless about driving Junior in any weather under 50 degrees without winter performance tires. Of course they don't tell you about that when you buy the damn car at the end of October with the intention of enjoying it until snow actually hits the ground... :angryfire:

CharmedOne, I don't mind dresses, but I do mind control top panty hose, which I am now wearing for the second time this week because we have clients in the office.

And Haven - YOU'RE KILLING ME!!! When I was at the dealership on Saturday a local shelter had dogs there (an odd venue, but I bet it worked for them). There was a six month old white lab mix with tan spots and one black paw that I would have traded my left tit to bring home, but alas, my apartment will not alow me to have pets...
Best line I've read in a long time!

A place that doesn't allow dogs? Sounds like it's time to move! :cheeky:
Our local rescues show adoptable dogs at weird places, too, but they got adopted that way! I spent many winter breaks in Macy's with adoptable kittens and pups. Gift wrap donations for the shelter? Perhaps you'd like to adopt a kitten with that!

Me too! They always look great on others but not on me.

Dee Jay, if your apt. complex won't allow you to have pets, where are The Demon and...oh no, I forget your other dog's name.

Blarg office assistant was let go today due to budgetary restraints.

Then an hour later there was an announcement that there will be a pay increase across the company.

She was making weekly payments for her upcoming wedding while working 2 jobs to raise her 3 kids.

Starting to hate it here.

Chemgirl, that's terrible...

Zoe, The Demon and his crazy brother Oscar are with their poppa (my XH, Bill).

Haven, glad you appreciated that!

Chemgirl I'm sorry, it's hard to work a job your not happy with.

Zoe, I agree plus I am just not comfortable in them. I lived in dresses when I was younger. Maybe that's why I hate them so much.

Make that 3.

I *love* dresses on other people - well, certain dresses - I hate ones with like huge A-line skirts. And whenever I see dresses on the racks and they're really stylish I wish so badly I could wear them...and sometimes I think "well, this one might look good" - but no.

I hate getting my nails done and hating the color I picked. arrrggggghhhhh

I have to wear a dress for a wedding I'm in next spring, and I'm dreading going shopping. As long as I stick to one of the two colors in the bride's color scheme, I can buy a dress anywhere (as opposed to a typical bridesmaid's dress). That should make me feel better, right? Nope. Not even a little. That sounds bratty, I know.

Chemgirl, that situation you described really made me upset - that poor woman loses her job and then everyone else gets raises??? Well, lets hope Karma comes and pays a visit to some of the big wigs....

I feel your pain...the key is, regardless of how much you want to put it off because you dread it, start early, this way you get to try tons of things on...and you may have a chance of finding something that you can feel good in.

My kitty Zoe is now totally blind. Her retinas detached due to (probably) high blood pressure.

kismet, I'm sorry about your kitty :(

Oh Kismet, I'm so sorry! Is her high blood pressure now being treated? Remember, animals feel differently than we do about their disabilities. They usually adapt quite well and don't feel sorry for themselves. Sending you and her lots of healing hugs and PS ***dust dust dust*** that she will be just fine.

The good news is that animals are so much better at living in the moment than we are, and I'm guessing Zoe will adapt quite well with some time. Hugs and healing thoughts to you.

Thank you for the good wishes CharmedOne, Missy & Haven. Yes, she's definitely on high blood pressure medication now and special kidney food since those values are elevated too. She's coping pretty well and doesn't really seem distressed about it. She's mostly been hanging out in the kitchen/dining room but yesterday started venturing into the living room on her own. She's learned to navigate by hugging the wall and using her whiskers and not to run too much.

I'm sorry to hear about your kitty kismet :(sad - sounds like she's adapting pretty well! Give her a few extra snuggles for me!

Vanna White looks fantastic.

(For those wondering, I'm watching Wheel of Fortune with my 87 year old mother.)

In other jolly news, my oil tank sprang a leak last night. Fortunately there wasn't enough oil on the ground that we had to involve the DEP. Unfortunately, it happened at night so they whacked me with a $400 surcharge for after hours emergency pump out. So, PSA, always have your oil tank emergencies during normal business hours.

aww Kismet, that sucks. I'm sorry. :(sad

That DOES suck, Kismet!! As if people can "plan" emergencies... Just seems like price gauging to me....

My 1,000th post!

Kismet, so sorry to hear about Zoe. Sounds like she's adjusting well to her new reality. It's hard to watch your pet's health decline. Hugs to you.

Is it weird that I find it cute when ebay sellers list their diamonds as being x amount of carrots? :rodent:

I just came home from visiting one of my best friends at the hospital. She has a pituitary tumor which is producing fluid and creating pressure on her brain and optic nerve. They will probably decide to operate to remove the tumor on Monday. I am so worried for her.
