Phew.

I''m just under a tremendous amount of stress tonight. From Andrey''s faux countdown to not knowing if I''m being thankful enough. It''s too much to handle, and I''ve had to break out an O''Douls non-alch beer.

Ha, I do make a huge effort to underperform, but I underperform at that as well!

Alj, pie has been one of my hugest cravings since the beginning of pregancy! I just LUUUUUUUUUURVE pie. Well, pie crust to be exact! I'll take peach and strawberry, and of course a sliver of lemon because I want to be a good PSer!!!

Honestly? There's not much to get current on. Just some self absorbed bridal crap. Ya know... it's all about me, "MY" day, my wedding. LOL. The highlights are: invites from ebay, John's wedding band and tux, and florists with ridiculous contracts. See? All caught up.

How are things with you? (although countdown is coming, so I'm prob. gonna have to read update tomorrow). It's stressing me out too, didn't think it would. But ya know... PS is gonna be DOWN. I'm sorry this post made some people paranoid, as I've said before in this thread, that wasn't my intent.

The intent really was just to make people in general think about thanking those who help them. I'm not the only one who has noticed this goes on, obviously, with 5 pages of people agreeing. I'm just the only one who said/asked it.

If some don't get it, that's ok. Not everyone gets everyones threads.

I thank everybody for giving their thoughts/views. I don't think there's anything left to say, that won't possibly make this thread go off in a direction I don't want it to.

I just read that it was being posted "here" rather than in "Hangout" so that more people would see it. I see it, now, in "Hangout". It is 6 pages long already, so I know it was somewhere else before, somewhere where I didn''t see it! I am just curious as to where. Was it in Rocky Talky?

I feel a bond with you that goes back to before you were married, let alone before you had your beautiful baby girl, Tessa. I would never have ignored these postings had I seen them, but I have not been reading some of the threads I did at one time.

I feel bad (as I said in the thread I mentioned) when I miss postings where friends (like you) could use an ear. When Scarleta lost her dog under the most tragic circumstances, I didn't know for several threads. When Gypsy's mother (and, yes, Gypsy, you thank eveyone)was hospitalized I didn't know for weeks. I do not know what to do about this lack of knowledge of friends' problems.

I send you hugs!

PS-Tacori, I know that you are aware of the thread to which I referred above since you contributed to it!!!

I think the fact that this isn''t just your ordinary forum, people have a personal interest in what they are contributing and feel passionate about this topic, therefore, not being thanked for any comments or help is seen as a rejection. When we post a threat we want everyone to respond and when they do you feel good about yourself and listened to and conversely, like ''norman nae mates'' when you get no replies. So, in essence, its about inclusion and recognition and respect for your fellow PSer''s and this is what makes PS. We have our own PS culture and when things start to shift we all feel it.

Rising, I love Princess Bride (I am Diego Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die). But I could not recall those references. Brains start shrinking each year starting at age 25...I am 42, so we can all do the math!

Maisie, you are NEVER a drain! And you look so young and hip, you could be your daughter's sister! (I am kinda jealous of that I must say!)

And like Mara said, when I sensed DRAIN, I just avoided. Which is actually a nice aspect to PS...unlike life-I can ignore it and just not post...which is great, since in life you cannot always just avoid people who annoy you. And I truly do not post or try to help only to get thanked, not at all. But I admit when I have tried to help or say something of support, or offer advice based on my experiences, it feels nice when someone highlights my text and agrees with it. By the same token, the flip side of it, I am not soooo thin skinned that if someone does NOT agree with me I wilt. All I would ever hope in those situations is that there be some respect. We can agree to disagree nicely, put out our different p.o.v.'s and have a lively debate, but name calling and casting nasty aspersions is not okay. Most people here like to help, have great depth of knowledge, wonderful advice and opinions, give support, and generally give of themselves happily. That is why I still come here!
